Tsuneo Imahori huh? Dude had an insane album last year with Tatsuya Yoshida.  Also did the Trigun soundtrack which I remember being pretty decent.

Edit: This sounds exactly like I thought it would.  Real good so far.

Here's a band I actually saw live that opened for MONO. I'm finding them hard to describe. Their vocalist raps while backed up by a full band with some sick stuff from their bassist. Their myspace to listen to some samples: http://www.myspace.com/hagakurehomepage

百蚊 is one of the best bands.  Their second album just got released but it's only available in indie stores right now.  Supposed to go to hmv, amazon, etc. on oct first.

Their first album is so frickin good and the one track I heard from the second album is awesome as well so I've got high hopes.

This version of the song isn't that good but the video is great.

http://forum.jphip.com/index.php?topic=17217.msg516625#msg516625

Here's an exchange I had with the label head a few weeks ago about albums from his (indie, privately run) label being on my blog.

Quote from: iacus
Hey thanks for not biting my head off/threatening to sue me or anything like that.

In case you're curious mediafire tracks the number of hits each link gets. The Hyacca album got 63 hits and the Mir one 82 hits. I know I've seen Hyacca up on at least two other blogs as well.

Quote from: Ian Martin
I'm kind of ambivalent about people downloading stuff. I mean, I spent thousands of dollars on releasing these CDs so obviously I'd prefer people to pay for them, but one hopes that some of those downloads translate into sales when people hear them.

82 hits for the This Tiny World is probably more than the total number of sales it's managed to rack up so far though, so it's very tempting to get frustrated and look at that figure and see those downloads as sales lost, so I understand why some people get pissed off. Obviously though, most of those hits are from people who never had any intention of buying it in the first place.

The people involved are all nice. The music is solid.  Buy it.

Kotringo was found by Ryuichi Sakamoto. She trained jazz piano/musical composition/arrangement at Berklee College of Music, so her music has jazzy taste and very pretty.

コトリンゴ/ame

ohashiTrio also trained jazz at univrcity of music.I like their music.

^ If you like Ohashi Trio, you'll very likely enjoy Kakoi Miku as well. She's a recent favorite of mine and her debut mini album (released earlier this year) was produced by Ohashi Trio. She's not very well known, but I think she's great. Her music is pretty much in the same vein as Ohashi's acoustic pop; with subtle influences from jazz, funk, and soul. To top things off, her voice is also wonderful! =)

^ Geskia! is cool as hell. I haven't gotten around to listening to his new albums yet, but his release from last year was awesome.

Here's a high quality TV-rip of FliP's "It's a Lie" PV. 640x480. 192kbps.
