recently found this chick Quinka, with a Yawn. i find her to be pretty awesome. piano based down-tempo folky pop, a few more upbeat tracks here and there. she has a pretty sweet voice, which takes some interesting turns now and again. boy said she reminded him of odani misako. anyway, really good stuff, check it out:

Thanks.
Liked it more than Sound by iLL, though the sound is considerably different.

The Quinka stuff is pretty nice too. I was gonna torrent, but I'll just grab it here.
edit: well now that I listened to her album.. sounds nothing like Odani Misako as far as the instrumentation goes.  The vocal style is similar though, I think.

They're not very obscure but, anyone have stuff by Clammbon? I'm specifically looking for 'Best' and 'machiwabi machisabi', but I'll take any of their other albums. I only have 'Musical' and their live album.  All the links I came across are dead or were removed, so help me out yo!

Clammbon - Machiwabi machisabi Bam!

I was always kinda confused by Clammbon's lack of popularity in foreign circles. They're really popular in Japan and they make great music. I have everything except for Ten and Musical. So if you could upload that I would be a happy man. (If you want anything else  by themfeel free to ask)

Also, that Quinka album is probably the best thing I've heard all year.
