good idea, sometimes I do get tired of having those Japanese food in those named Japanese restaurant. They sell crappy to ok Japanese food but in an expensive price, plus their dishes and styles are changed to favour Caucasians and their market while not being authentic enough.

This sounds like a scheme to get Japanese restaurants abroad to import Japanese rice and other agricultural products, rather than cheaper Japonica rice from Thailand and Vietnam.

Thailand's government tried this some time back.  It was largely a failure.

Once went to a Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong which specialized in maki (rolls, e.g., California-maki).  There was a Japanese chef.

I was there with some friends, and said to myself 'what the heck,' and asked the chef if he had any Goto Maki...  XD   And the chef cracked up!!  The friends who were with me didn't know what I was talking about, until I went back to the office and showed them pics of Gocchin.  Then they were all saying "yummy!"

That's great, I have to try that when I get a chance to travel in Asia XD

^ Actually it was invented by one of, if not THE top sushi chef in Vancouver. He named it the "California" roll because of the use of avocado.

Wikipedia says that you're a liar and that your pants are on fire.

And if something is on Wikipedia, then you know it has to be true.

 And of course the entry was written by a Californian (or at least an American).

The important thing is that it's yummy and easy to make at home. :D
