WINNIPEG - Deon Beasley wasn't happy with the way he was playing and vowed to make a difference.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back did just that when he returned an interception 72 yards for a touchdown in overtime Monday to seal the Bombers' stunning 47-35 win over the B.C. Lions.

"I wasn't making the plays I was supposed to make, but I told myself and I told my coach, 'Keep trying me and before this game is over with I'm going to make a play,'" Beasley said.

Beasley intercepted Casey Printers after Winnipeg running back Yvenson Bernard had already scored a touchdown on a two-yard run to give the Blue Bombers a 41-35 lead. It was the second pick of the season for the rookie out of Texas.

In the first overtime possession, Lions kicker Sean Whyte booted a 30-yard field goal. Justin Palardy replied with a 32-yarder for Winnipeg.

The victory before a season-low 25,016 fans at Canad Inns Stadium kept Winnipeg's slim playoff hopes alive by bumping the Bombers' record to 4-10.

B.C. dropped to 5-9 and sits in third place in the West Division ahead of Edmonton (4-10). With the Lions' loss, both Calgary and Saskatchewan clinched home playoff games.

No worries dude. It was actually somewhat interesting to watch the performance of the rookie QB that the Blue had to send in because all of our other guys are on the shelf for the remainder of the year. For a kid who didn't have a single down's worth of experience in the CFL, I'd say he didn't do too badly.

Anyway, Peg Sheety cru gonna be cheerin' "GO ESKIES!" come play-off time.

PROPS!! Ricky Ray will hopefully be back. that was the ugliest game ever, only fitting for OT madness. y'all shoulda got Kerry Joseph, apparently the former MVP was available. AH this CFL. And the Roughriders seemed unbeatable in July. ONE MORE GAME!! LETS GO ESKS!

Gotta give it up to Ricky Ray tho, fucking even tho he can make you go ARRGH WHAT!! he has got the cojones to get back on the field even tho his O-Line keeps failing him. Hope he comes back, get Zabransky in there and run some crazy ass schemes. Daniel Porter is a keeper too, stick to the ground game when the wind is fucking u up like that. AH WELL good effort it was a miracle run. HATE to be the ones to face the "hot" BC Lions.

AND keep Richie Hall too, he got everyone into shape 11 Game Season. HOLY shit only in the CFL can you be 8-10 and still make it into the playoffs

Thanks for the efforts Coach Hall.

Big part of the community and he went on The Richie Hall Show every week (even after 0-6) basically to take peoples calls on the radio for an hour. I admired his dedication, he never made any excuses - but someone had to take the fall - players failed him big time. First step, fix up the Defensive and Offensive lines, winning ball games begins in the trenches.
