GAM Playboy Interview
The origins of the name of the greatest super unit in years, GAM, is abbreviated from “Great Aya and Miki” and it means “beautiful legs” in English slang. With the charm of their beautiful legs and songs about girls' true hearts, you should take notice of their 3rd single. This time it's a song about a failed love of a tough girl.
Fujimoto: This time single, “Lu Lu Lu,” has lyrics that are easy to understand and you can feel the lyrics. It's also easy to imagine the heroine's feelings.
Matsuura: Yeah, it shows the part of a cute girl where she is strong, but wavers and the tears flows. So, when you see this kind of girl's weakness, give her something, boys!
Fujimoto: There are a lot of times what they say and what they are are different for girls. When they say, “Don't come!' they really mean that they want you to chase after them. Guys don't understand that part of a girl, huh.
Matsuura: They don't say to look for the “double bluff,” but at the very least they want you to look for the “bluff!” I think men who understand that strength of a woman is great.
If you guys had a break up, what would you guys do?
Matsuura: That would depend on the partner, I think. If it's a person I'm soft upon on a regular basis and cries and yells, “No, no!” [I would be like the older sister and can't make out the kanji], I would be strong like the girl in “Lu Lu Lu” and maybe become tough.
Fujimoto: Because I'm the youngest child, I might usually have the image of being rough around the edges, but I'm soft on trustworthy people. I wouldn't want to be separated from them.
Matsuura: That's right. It's a takes a while for this kid to become soft!
Fujimoto: I'm sarcastic on the surface, but underneath I'm sentimental. I'm usually very aloof, but if I become sentimental, I think I really become sentimental (laughs).
These two are really good friends even in private. They stay over at each other's houses and even take a bath together! Actually, it feels like there's no space for anybody to come in between the two. Speaking of the aura, is it like an “absolute domain” where it's only GAM that can enter?!
Matsuura: That's often said that they can't enter between the two of us. Even when I'm by myself, the fans would say, “Ayaya doesn't have any love!”
Fujimoto: The fans call me “Miki-sama” (smiles wryly). We don't plan on putting out that kind of aura... I wonder if it comes out naturally.
You guys hold that much of an “absolute domain.” I think that you guys have no weak points, but...
Fujimoto: I have a weak point. I'm weak at getting a cold shoulder (laughs)! If somebody has been nice to me all this time and suddenly stops paying attention to me, I would get lonely. If you left me alone, I would die. If Aya-chan spoiled me she would look after that point.
Matsuura: This girl is mean! Even when she comes to somebody's house, her shoes aren't uniform and she also just tosses her coat anywhere. But when she sweetly says, “Aya-chan, please hang my clothes,” I reply, “Al-right,” and do it. So my weak point is I'm weak when I'm fawned upon. Also, she calls me late at night. She calls me many times even though I'm sleeping! And then when we are talking she would say, “Ah, someone's on the other line. Wait a minute.” Even though I'm sleepy!
Fujimoto: That's right! It's like I would call as many times until she answers. I'm like Aya-chan's stalker (laughs).
If Mikitty had a break up like in “Lu Lu Lu,” it seems like Ayaya's house phone would ring non-stop.
Fujimoto: I would call many times! And then I would ask, “Is it ok if I come over to your house?” On the other hand, if Aya-chan had a break up she would say, “I can't help it. Anyways, come over to my house.”
Matsuura: I'm the type who gets fairly depressed, so, on the other hand, it might be good if it's light. But, it's ok if you call, but next time, stop answering call waitings.
