o_O Well here's a pairing that's completely new...
Perfection and the Untidy
“This could be troublesome…”
Eri placed a hand on her hip and scratched her head with the other, baffled with how she was going to get out of this situation.
They were touring for their what, fifth wonderful hearts concert and for once, the company managed to land them with a lovely hotel with gorgeous rooms. They even had beautiful scenery to look at instead of the wall of someone else’s hotel! It’s a shame Eri sort of uglified the hotel room that was supposed to be a paradise.
The room was a hell hole. Her clothes were strewn everywhere. There were today’s clothes thrown over her bed. Her underwear was haphazardly hanging over the TV. Hell, she thought she saw what seemed to be her t-shirt covering up the trash can! All the snacks she had eaten were still present within the habitat as well. May it be dried squid, empty Starbucks cups, everything was still here. The leftover wrappers of her pudding were even on her roommate’s bed!
Oh gahh.
Her roommate!
Eri carefully stepped over the sea of junk, having to scrutinize the floor closely to find where it was clean enough to step on without dirtying her feet. Eventually, she made it to the door and opened it slightly. The creak of the hinges broke the silence, causing the turtle to almost shut the door again in embarrassment. She slowly poked her head out into the hall, glancing about nervously in each direction. Finding that her roommate was not coming, she sighed of relief and shut the door.
“Maybe I should start cleaning…” the maple-haired woman cocked her head to the side.
But where should I start…? She scanned the room for potential trash, though the entire room was a jungle of trash… She picked up a pair of capris and chucked it across the room, landing perfectly within her luggage case. Seeing the successful throw, Eri could not help but squeal in delight, bouncing even. But then, she felt all of her energy being sapped out of her and she stood with her feet firmly planted on the ground.
Now I feel lazy again… Eri placed a finger under her pouting lips. Her eyes wandered over to the luggage in the corner—her roommate’s luggage. It was standing perfectly upright and she could see that all the zippers were as far as they could go, not letting an ounce of air in or out of it. Asides from the mess she made on the other’s bed, it was still kept neat and fold-less as opposed to her unkempt, un-made bed…
“What could I do to be like that, huh?” the turtle sighed exasperatedly.
“Recognize that you have a problem.”
Eri felt like she just jumped four meters and clung to the ceiling! Not only was the voice familiar, but it was the one she wanted to hear the least!
The turtle turned around shakily, finding a rather discontented roommate with her arms crossed and glaring.
“I’m sorry! I was just getting around to cleaning it!” the younger’s brows knit apologetically.
She really didn’t want to see her face now. She had happened to be on the receiving end of the older’s anger quite frequently for being late, and this was definitely not going to bode well for her if she left the room all messy too!
“Are you going to clean your mess some time soon?” the older uttered gloomily, her features darkened in disdain of what their room had become in her absence.
“Y-yes! Let me just…” Eri huffed as she tip-toed once again through her ocean of messiness, “get some gloves and spray~!” She needed to do anything to not see the other’s face right now. She already felt like she was going to cry again like the last time she was yelled out! Before her escape plan worked, an arm stretched out, blocking the turtle’s stomach.
“Is it necessary? It’s just clothes and snacks,” said a disapproving tone.
“U-um…” Eri began to panic, feeling the other’s hand clasp firmly onto the hip furthest from her—her right hip.
“They were right, your lack of cleanliness is unrivaled,” the older let out a sharp exhale.
“Y-yeah…” Eri felt her cheeks tinge red with embarrassment, “I’m sorry that you had to be roomed up with me…” she felt the tears welling up within her eyes too… Ack! Why am I starting to cry?! She didn’t even start screaming yet!
“Why are you crying?”
Can you read minds too!? Eri looked shyly at the other, feeling a few tears drop down her cheeks, “I… I’m sorry…”
“Stop crying…This isn’t worth your tears.” Eri thought she heard irritation underlining the other’s voice, causing even more tears to come out. “Why are you still crying when I told you to stop?”
There it was again, that look of disappointment.
“I-I’m s-sorry… It just… came out…” Eri said quietly, her face downcast as she attempted to hide her tear stricken face.
Eri felt an eternity pass by of just her sniffling slightly, trying to prevent her tears from coming out, but to no avail. Before she considered counting her seconds in frozen time, she felt a hand cupping her cheek, bringing her to face the other.
She was surprised to see the look on the older’s face. Instead of being met with a face quietly seething with anger, she saw a stern, but sympathetic stare.
“It should be me who needs to apologize…” the other said solemnly, “I made you cry because I was upset…” Eri felt the other’s fingers delicately wiping away the lone tear which had escaped from her eye. The turtle could only stare at the other. And the other could only stare back into her eyes…
Well this is getting awkward… both of them thought within their heads. Eri’s eyes looked away from the intense gaze of the other, afraid of succumbing to it had she looked into them any longer.
She felt the older take her hand away and swerve around her, feeling that other hand snake across her belly before not touching her at all.
“Go and grab what you need. I’ll help. Alright?” the older traversed across the room with her hands on her hips, looking like she was at a loss of what to do first.
Eri wiped the remainder of her tears away and shook her head vigorously, much to the bemusement of the other.
“Aichan, you’re right. I don’t need gloves and spray to handle clothes and snacks.”
The leader let out a small smile for the other.
“Well then let’s get to work.”
Well that was certainly new, huh? Earlier, Essy-chan and I were talking about Eri's messy-room habits and then we wondered, "What if Miss Untidy had to room with Miss Angsty Perfectionist?" And just now, I was thinking about it again after having talked to Rokun, who was writing the next chapter of Circle so I thought, "Why the hell not?" and updated here as well xDDDDD...
