automticly assuming he was expelled because he is black shows a little about you, could have easily happened to another color.
dont cast the stone till you take your blind fold off espcially since you dont know all the details of the situation i wish people would get over the color issue already... but maybe since i have been around people of several diffrent colors i am not racist or should i say .... i am not trying to get sympathy because of whatever color i am ... you can get as far as you want in life no matter what color you are ... some have to try harder but thats because of what i have already mentioned sad yes, but what can you do? well you could not be racist and not automatticly assume that someone is being racist because of what they did but its most important that you not be racist yourself sometimes someone can be and not even realize it ... i really dont get why the color issue is a problem for people and probally never will all i can do is continue to treat everyone nice and how i want to be treated instead of treating people diffrent depending on what color they are like most people do .
but yeah thats a messed up situation
I'm not trying to start a debate or anything like that, but i just want to respond to your view of the situation. Because this is obviously a very touchy subject i'll try to be as sensitive as possible. Please don't take anything I say negatively because its just my opinion

and i got love for everybody in the forum:D . Nazokage, I agree with you that nobody can really make a clear judgement because we do not have all the details of the situation. But what is clear, if you read the column, is: he found the weapon in the restroom, he turned it in, which lead to finding the original owner of the gun who was later on arrested. Who knows what would have happened had he not turned in the weapon. So the question is, "why is he getting expelled?" He should be on the news as an example and should be getting commended for the decision made. But instead they're talking about whether or not he is going to be expelled. The reason the color problem is an issue is because racism still exists; whether it's hidden between the lines, or straight foward. I mean, John_Hung made an excellent point. After hurricane Katrina, in the news, when a white person found food the media said exactly that "they found something to eat." But when an black person found something to eat the word the media used to describe it as was "looting." I'm not saying the media from hurricane Katrina, or school board in this post is necessarily racist. Im saying that perception of a situation can easily be misconstrued by the color of ones skin. Who knows what the vice principal's initial thought was when he turned in the gun but if they found the original culprit why are they thinking about expelling him? Just doesn't make sense to me.
