“That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard come from your mouth.” Miki said after she finally stopped laughing.
Maki sighed, “It might be stupid, but it’s damn true.”
“Okay, okay.” Miki said, laying down on the dry side of her bed. “Well, I would like to see this story thing of hers…Did she seriously write a fanfic about you?” Miki coughed to hide her laugh.
“Yes, she did.” Maki said, still not sure what to think about that, “And how? Break into her room?”
“Of course.” Miki said as if there was no more explaining to it.
“Are you nuts? Just break into her room, that’s a great idea.” Maki said, a sarcastic tone lingering with her words.
“Tomorrow, while we’re at dance practice. You have the day off, just go in then. She always has her door unlocked, so it shouldn’t be a problem.” Miki said, sitting back up.
[Reina’s Room]
“Are you serious?” Reina asked, her eyes widened slightly, “That’s creepy!”
“Yeah! I swear it’s true!” Eri said, nodding.
“Wow, for now on, I’m locking my door.”
[Miki’s Room]
Maki thought for a moment. “Fine. Sneak in, photocopy the papers, get out.”
“I like it. Simple, easy to remember.” Miki said, quoting her new favorite foreign film.
“Yes, very.” Maki said, standing up and stretching. “And don’t talk to her about it or suck her dry or I’ll kill you.”
“Yup yup. Don’t suck her dry until after your date with her, right?”
Maki rolled her eyes, “It’s not a date. But, I’m out of here before I choose to seriously hurt you.” she said simply and walked out the door.
“You know I could kick your ass!” Miki called out as Maki shut the door.
“Ugh, that girl.” Maki groaned, walking down the hall.
Soon enough, she was out of the Morning Musume apartments and walking through a nearby park, her little shortcut to her own apartment. With dark sunglasses and a hat on, she was glad that nobody would recognize her, the last thing she wanted tonight was attention.
The idea of Reina knowing her secret ruined her appetite for the night, the fresh air was rather nice though.
Your date is in two days, you should go out and buy something sexy.
Maki blinked for a moment, and shook her head.
You know you want to…
Maki rolled her eyes at this.
Get out of my head, you’re bad enough in person, Miki. And why the hell you do want me to buy sexy clothes!?
Miki’s evil little laugh echoed through Maki’s head.
Ah, but you just told me to go away, so sucks for you.
With that, the voice left Maki’s mind, which caused her to curse out loud.
“She is so friggin’ difficult and perverted!” the soloist growled, unlocking her apartment door and walking in. She kicked her shoes off and soon made her way to the couch with a bowl of chocolate ice cream.
[Many Bowls of Ice Cream Later]
Maki felt her eyes grow heavy and she found herself re-reading the same line for the sixth time in the book she had. Yet she didn’t remember any of the things she read thanks to a certain wonky-eyed teenager making Maki worry her head off. Finally, she gave up and decided that sleep was a better option.
She slipped off her jeans and practically collapsed into her bed and pulling the covers over herself.
I should get some sleep, if I lose sleep now I’ll look terrible on Friday for my date-- What the hell!? Damnit Miki! You even got me thinking it’s a date!
After a few minutes of mentally fighting with herself, Maki fell asleep, hoping tomorrow would be a better day.
[The Next Morning]
That buzzing was going to drive her nuts, but Maki was far too tired to move her hand a whole five inches to turn it off.
Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.
“God damnit!” Maki slammed down on the alarm clock, causing it to make a weird noise before complete silence. She sat up, and looked over at what was left of her clock. The red numbers glared “10:55”
Wow, did I really ignore my alarm clock for almost an hour?
She rolled out of bed, and eventually was decent and walking out the door. (More or less, she was running considering she was having a late start for her little “Break into an Idol’s Room” plan.)
Playing a part in Pinch Runner came in handy at times like these, she bolted from her apartment to the Morning Musume apartments in a record time of three minutes, and it was a fifteen minute jog there. Although she was out of breath, Maki was back on schedule.
“You have to be shittin’ me…” Maki said, glaring at the elevator door which had a paper reading “Out of order.” across it. “I just ran the whole friggin’ way here, and now I have to climb four flights of stairs?”
And so Maki climbed the four flights of stairs, complaining the entire time to herself, but she still did it.
“Okay, nothing can go wrong from here.” Maki said, taking in a deep breath as she stopped at Reina’s door. She put her hand on the handle, starting to turn it.
Locked.
“What the hell!?” Maki yelled in frustration, then realizing that she shouldn’t be yelling at a time like this.
She let out a very stressed sigh, “Well, only one thing to do.” she said to herself, walking down the dreaded stairs.
She walked outside and around to the side of the building. “Okay, this shouldn’t be so hard.” She looked up, finding the window that lead to Reina’s room. “Damn…That’s really high.” She climbed up onto the set of emergency stairs and while clinging to the railing for her life, she walked up to Reina’s window and opened it. Yet, for some unknown reason, which Maki believes to be the gods revenging her for stealing lunch money from kids in fourth grade, the window only opened up half way. It wouldn’t budge any more than that.
Maki wanted to yell many things an idol should not yell as she tried to fit through that window, yet her upper body was stuck, thanks to the area many perverts loved on Maki Goto so damn much.
A good ten minutes passed before she managed to squeeze herself through the small window and send herself face first into the floor.
“Ouch…” Maki groaned as she stood up, rubbing her nose. “At least I got in here…”
She looked around the room, and quickly walked over to Reina’s laptop and desk. “Where did all the papers go?” She sighed, realizing that she did not have enough time to search “It’ll take way too long to find all this, she might not notice if I just print it here, right?”
She opened up Reina’s laptop and turned it on, once the welcome screen popped up, so did a box asking for a password.
“Damnit…” Maki growled, “Hmm…Okay we’ll start off simple: Tanaka Reina.”
Wrong.
“11111989?”
Wrong.
“Why isn’t there a hint box? Erm…Purple Kittens?”
Wrong.
A good forty-five minutes passed before she got it right, which she was amazed enough she did before throwing the computer out the window.
“Of course it was Yakiniku…” Maki mumbled to herself as she opened searched Reina’s computer for the story.
“Okay, search: all files and folders. Keyword: Maki Goto.” Maki said as she typed, for some reason she had a weird knack of saying what she was typing. “Enter.”
“…”
After sorting out what wasn’t the story and just pictures or videos and commenting on Reina’s good taste in what pictures she had of Maki on her computer, she finally found it.
“…”
“Holy hell! Forty-eight chapters!? God…Better start printing now.” She pressed print and papers were starting to print from the small printer on the floor.
Maki sat back in the chair and put her hands behind her head. All was finally starting to work out according to plan.
Ah, just minutes away from everything being printed off and then I can shove the stack of paper up Miki’s ass and prove to her I wasn’t being stupid.
The last paper printed and Maki picked up the stack, “Now just to get out of --”
The door unlocked and someone was coming in.
Oh gahh! Maki closed the laptop and ran to the closest hiding spot: Reina’s closet. Did two hours seriously pass already!?
Reina walked into her room, “Ugh, I hate dance practices so early…I could still be sleeping.”
She plopped down on her computer chair and opened up her laptop, “Hmm…I thought I shut it down. Wow, shows how much I pay attention.”
Maki shifted so she was now sitting in a more comfortable position, she had a feeling that it would be a while before she had a chance to leave.
An hour passed by, and Reina rested her head on her desk, “I just don’t know what I should put for it…” she mumbled to herself, unaware that Maki was listening. “Just having it be a normal climbing accident would make it seem unreal in her case…But what should I put? Damnit, I hate writers block.”
Maki blinked as she pulled her knees to her chest, recalling that accident. So she was making it all up from her mind…
Reina stood up and walked over to her dresser, pulling out a pair of pajamas. Maki was grateful that Reina didn’t keep her clothes in her closet.
As Reina dressed, Maki turned her head away…But found herself looking through the corner of her eye.
Goto! What the hell are you thinking!?
Maki mentally kicked herself and looked away once again.
A tune started to play from Reina’s jeans on the floor, Maki recognized it as a Flame song, yet she didn’t know which one. Maki looked once again.
Reina picked up the cell phone and placed her pajamas on her bed, “Hello? …What do you want? …Oh just shut-up.” Reina sounded horribly annoyed, “…Fujimoto, I have no clue how you found out about Friday, and if you say the anything on the lines of “Reina, you should go out shopping for something sexy” I’ll kill you.”
Maki made a mental note to smack Miki next time she saw her, but then continued to listen.
Reina paused for a moment, and her free hand was clenched.
Wow, Reina can look like she could kick anyone‘s ass when she is pissed like that…Even if she is in her bra and panties.
“No, I don’t care that you’re my sub-leader!” Reina growled, “…You have no rights to be butting into my personal life!”
Maki nodded even though she knew Reina couldn‘t see her. Miki did sometimes love to place herself into other peoples business.
Apparently Reina and Miki got into some form of an argument about “respecting your superiors” and the phone call lasted a good hour before Reina hung up on the sub-leader.
“That girl is difficult and perverted…” Reina mumbled, starting to change into her pajamas again.
Maki let out a quiet sigh, at this moment, all she wanted to do was get out of here. She rested her head on her knees and closed her eyes.
****************************************************************************
Maki lifted her head, realizing she had fallen asleep.
How long have I been asleep for? Minutes? Hours?
She peered out the closet door, everything was dark. She must of slept a while. Slowly, making sure that she made no noise, she peeked her head out of the door to see Reina’s bed.
A lump was under neither the covers, hopefully asleep. Maki slowly walked out of the closet, making as little noise as possible.
Before she walked out of Reina’s room, she slowly crept over to her bed. For some weird reason, she just wanted to see Reina.
Reina was laying peacefully in bed, her hair was down and slightly messy, she was laying on her side and Maki thought she looked simply beautiful with the moon’s light reflecting on her skin.
Maki set the papers on Reina’s bedside table carefully, and just sat on the edge of the bed. She smiled, the girl looked so peaceful while she was sleeping, it was almost contagious because Maki seemed to grow calm as well. She pushed aside Reina’s bangs and lightly kissed her forehead before starting to get up.
Yet something stopped her.
Maki found herself being held around the waist by Reina, who was still sleeping, as if she was a giant teddy bear. Maki tried to pry herself away, but ended up laying in the bed next to Reina somehow. From that moment on, Maki would never underestimate the strength of a sleeping girl again.
What the hell am I supposed to do?
It was rather comfortable though. Maki figured if she just stayed put for a moment or two, Reina would eventually let go. She closed her eyes for a second before she heard realized that she was pulled slightly closer to Reina.
Maki smiled. I wish I could capture this picture.
“Maki-san…” Reina mumbled lightly in her sleep, which automatically caught Maki’s attention, but before she could think more on the subject she felt Reina’s lips lightly, barely press against her own for just a brief moment.
Maki blushed and felt Reina’s hug loosen, Maki had her chance to leave. Yet, almost had to force herself up. She didn’t want to leave this peaceful zone, something made her want to stay with Reina.
After getting out of the bed, Maki felt rather cold. She quietly grabbed the papers and walked out of the room.
“Sweet dreams.” Maki whispered before closing the door behind her.
