Why is the American coverage on NBC showing a delay/replayed broadcast of the men's volleyball gold medal match when the Closing Ceremonies are starting in a few minutes?

OH RIGHT! Because they don't think American viewers want to see the Closing Ceremonies broadcast LIVE.

For any American H!Pstahs (or anyone else that's not getting a live broadcast), you can stream the Canadian broadcast here: http://www.ctvolympics.ca/videos/index.html

Well done London you put on a great games. I'm always sad when the Olympics are over.

But I feel satisfied, US did well and "dream team 2" won the Gold. But I think my favorite moments were the men's and women's 4x100 relays blowing away the world records and that shooting display in the US-Nigeria basketball game. HOLY SHIT 50 points in the first quarter, Carmello 37 points in 12 minutes of playing time, 29 threes in only 10 min quarters (previous record was 13) 75% shooting. I was laughing at the absurdity. :shocked

There will never be anything close to that ever again.

Tunisian Olympians targeted by Islamist radicals
Associated Press | Aug 14, 2012 12:44 PM ET | Last Updated: Aug 15, 2012 11:32 AM ET

TUNIS, Tunisia — Islamist extremists have targeted two Tunisian Olympic medalists for behaviour and dress seen as un-Islamic, as debate grows over the role of religion and women in the country that unleashed the Arab Spring uprisings.

Radicals on social media networks called on the government to strip Habiba Ghribi, the first Tunisian woman to win an Olympic medal, of her nationality because her running gear was too revealing. She won the silver in the 3,000-metre steeplechase.

And a Facebook campaign by extremist group Ansar al Chariaa is targeting swimmer Oussama Mellouli for drinking juice before racing during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Mellouli won gold in the 10-kilometre marathon and bronze in the 1,500-metre freestyle.

Tunisia is run by a moderate Islamist-led government that is facing increasing challenges from religious extremists.

FFS, next thing you know, these extremists will be saying that the Olympics themselves are discriminating against Muslims because they held the games during Ramadan.
