I think that's the highest clocks for 24/7 now. Maybe I'll lap the Tuniq and the cpu's HS.

I moved from NYC to Chicago last week, and only tonight have I gotten around to unpacking my most precious of cargo: my HDD collection.

That's about 80% of it right there.  Oh, and that cable you see can throw down 10 Mbps (peaks at 12 Mbps) :-)

You mean Xwindows? Linux doesn't do graphics, and yes some are nice effects.

I've always wanted to try beryl or compiz. If I get a new HDD I think I'll try installing Sabayon.

Well I tried booting it from the DVD. The OS boots up fine but beryl wouldn't work; something about my vid card drivers or something(It's ATI). Found a possible way to fix it, but I'd have to install it first

No virtual PC will emulate enough graphics to do the nice 3D effects.
Dual booting (or a live CD) might work, but like SIS experienced, you need drivers :)

i already upgrade my rig capacity.. found some hdd lying around in my workplace (already declare dispose - 20gb) and i purchase a 250gb  :w00t: western digital sata2 16mb..

:inlove: really happy with add on space.. now i got 12 partition in my computer and full 5hdd in my hdd cage.. 2 pata and 3 sata.. only have one sata port available for my future 500gb.. yay..

finally can separate my japan clips from my other clips.. now got a 70gb partition for japan video clips only (japan, chatmonchy, akb48 and H!P PV only) and 50gb for other (English,Malay,Korean video clips)..

but after the upgrade it seem that i got some problem.. my linux bootloader failed to boot window when i select it.. it seem cause by the change of hdd number.. will find out how to repair it.. need to manually assign which hdd to boot in order to start linux or windows (windows got it own loader which can select either xp or vista - yes i got 3 os in my rig)..

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Barton @ 1.91GHz
Motherboard: ASUS A7V8X-MX SE
Memory: 1GB(2x512MB) Kingmax DDR333
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon 9800SE 256MB Edition
Optical Drives:
-NEC ND-3550A DVD-Writer
-Lite-On 16x DVD-ROM
Hard Drives:
-160GB Hitachi
-250GB Maxtor
-200GB Maxtor
-160GB Seagate
-160GB Seagate
PCI Devices:
-ATi TV Wonder with btwincap drivers for high resolution capture
-Syba UATA133 controller card
Case: Antec Solution Series
Operating Systems:
-Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
-Ubuntu Linux 7.04 "Feisty Fawn"

Certainly not top of the line, but it does the job and thensome for me. I recently lost the 250gig Maxtor, so my Ubuntu install was toasted. Will soon be replaced by a 500GB WD and I'll install Gusty on that most likely.

I'm really anxious to try the new ATi Linux river. The massive performance increase and upcoming AIGLX support will be very welcome. I've stuck with the open source driver since fglrx has been so sucky in the past. Yay to AMD for opening up the specs and such. I'm glad they bought ATi.

So I decided to build a simple BT box out of an old computer.

I was looking at KVM switches so I can use the same keyboard mouse and monitor and I'm reading some mixed reactions about them.

Anyone here have know of one that they would recommend?

Sound isn't really important but I guess it wouldn't hurt to have it.

Depends on how high quality your other computer needs to run, cheap versions might give a problem on higher resolutions.

I use simple 2 and 4 port desktop KVM switches from startech:

They can do resolutions upto 1920x1440 (according to the specs)

I got myself a cheapo watercooling kit :D

It's not really that good to be honest, the pump rattles a bit like a noisy fan and the temps aren't very low but they're not super high either, 58c at full load. That's a C2D e6600 @ 3.2ghz

Thermaltake.... :'( I've heard that there's a lot of people with those TT watercooling kits and the pumps have crapped out. I hope yours doesn't. Last night I tested some 24/7 clocks for my Q6600 and 3.6GHz proved to be stable :) Still using the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 as a cooler.

lol yeah it's a pretty cheap pump, I am thinking of replacing it with a good one and getting another radiator and then a waterblock for my videocard but that will be later on I think.

Got an 8800gt today, and did some overclocking and benching late into the night :D

I'll have to get a better cooler for the 8800gt though, the stock ones really suck.
The watercooling is doing surprisingly well lately on the cpu. I it clocked up to 3.6ghz but no matter what vcore I used it wouldn't complete a 3dmark test so I had to knock it back down to 3.57, I think this might be a motherboard limit not cpu. But temps for the cpu were quite low, it'd get up to 60-65 in full load but go straight back down to 52 when idle. The cooling is doing very well.

Anyway the card I only clocked a little bit, I think it was getting too hot and freezing up when I went any higher than 690mhz core.
