It's nice to see some actual discussion once in a while

That said, I'm pretty sure no one is going to argue that AKB is not a profit-driven entity. Much of my attraction to AKB derives from that; that they don't really hide what they're doing, although they try not to make it too obvious. But at times I do want to believe that all of it is just an act..

..like when Maimai gets 7 x 8 wrong

Imagine the awesomeness of doing that River intro with 100 people.  :cow:

They may need to add extra support to the stage.  I'd hate to see a *Stomp* *Stomp* *Crash*.

I think 100 people is a bit too much.

What about leaving SKE and RS out?

What about leaving SKE and RS out?

What is this blasphemy?

..but yes, I agree. Maybe they'll line em up on the stairs and along the front of the stage, turn it into a huge singalong with an acoustic version of River. :D

I'm sure aki-p knows what he's doing and has sorted out any logistics with the kouhaku people as I'm sure they'd have to approve this.

personally I think this is the only truly fair way to do it what with the way for iiwake you could vote for members of all these groups.  All the girls work hard and the ones that do the most work(ie the frontgirls) will still get the most exposure in the performance so it all works out I think.

If they're gonna go through with the said number of members, I wonder if they would use new costumes or just recycled ones.

but either way this one would be big! way to go AKB, ending the year with a BANG!  :twothumbs

Don't AKB48 have any websites updating about them and their schedules ?? it's hard to keep in touch with all the girls !! their official website has not been updated for about long time now !!

The official web site in Japanese has the detailed and updated schedule. I "think" that for even more detailed info about specific girls, you can visit the sites of their agencies.

Otaku fan lends an unhelpful hand to idol-girl meet and greet

Quote
Tabloids such as Nikkan Sports are abuzz with reports that an obsessed fan refused to let go of the hand of one idol singer from collective AKB48 during a Sunday PR event held in downtown Tokyo. According to eyewitness reports, two staffers had to intercede during a handshake session to drag the tactile fan off.

It isn't clear which idol suffered the otaku deathgrip, but by all accounts the four girls at the event -- Minami Minegishi, Asuka Kuramochi, Kana Kobayashi and Natsumi Matsubara -- escaped with only emotional scars.

Was it worth it? We'll have to wait until the perpetrator brags on 2ch to find out.

No, Natsumi! ;_;

According to one news report it was natsumi that was 'death gripped' as they described it.
The really bad thing is they're probably going to be MUCH tighter about fans getting away with a little extra chat(which the girls, from what i hear, encourage often)

I hope it was worth it for him. He likely just earned himself a ban from the theater and all future events judging from past occurrences.

I'll never understand hardcore wota, but I'm cool with the ones who are at least not douches about it. Too bad that this has to happen from time to time. :smhid

the akb theatre is pretty strict about their bans on fans so I wouldn't worry about him returning and hopefully serves to stop others thinking it's a good idea.
