I guess he was just one of those guys..

You know, the ones that want to cut off the hand that shook an idol's hand and put it in a jar..

AKB48 will appear on Kouhaku with 72 members according to the latest reports.

Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena and Yagami are guaranteed  XD

Kuumin, fuck yeah. /o/

Is there some sort of list as to what AKB's appearing on? I assume from some blog pics that we're gonna see them on CDTV. Then there's Kouhaku too..

Just saw them on Kouhaku and dear lord, that poor stage. Although Exile possibly had even more children on beforehand, it's still frightening to see that many people at once.

Also, why did they sing Happy Birthday? O.o Strange choice. Also very, very difficult to spot anyone other than the usual front girls. Bah.

Also, why did they sing Happy Birthday?

It's from their Namida Surprise song, I guess they had to include it because it was the first single that sold more than 100K in the first week.

I preferred their first appearance on Kouhaku myself. Better costumes and songs, but points for putting as many people on a stage at once as is humanely possibly.

And it's still better than Johnnys... I'll be having my sleepy time now.

Much better than the MS special. I like it, and I didn't have a hard time finding Sayaka  XD

Congratulations to Haruna for getting a close up!

Damn, I wanna pull off Acchan's clothes, too.

It was actually not as bad as I thought it would be. Although that segue into Namida Surprise was just weird..

is it just me or did rena replace erena in senbatsu?
If she did that's pretty brutal to erena, taking her out of a single she was in, she'd probably be pretty upset about it and as awesome as rena is erena is above her in those senses I damnwell I hope I just missed her....hmm her blog picture has her in the senbatsu red plaid but with a grey hat...no one in the first outfit had a grey hat @__@

edit: yep found her, they have replaced erena with rena.
Erena takes off yuko's dress and is behind yuki on her closeup

I don't even care about the book anymore, I just want the SKE poster  :nervous 20% chance..

Do you guys believe in karma? Like, if you lead a good and honest life, good thing will happen? What I'm trying to say is..

I got the SKE48 poster!!!!!!!!  :cow:

And the book is awesome! Seriously, even the paper quality is great. If you are any kind of AKB fan, this is a must buy. Amazing quality for an unbelievable low price.  I was surprised by the amount of SKE pictures as well  . This is like my best purchase since the beginning of purchases  XD
Expect my 'collection' pic soon

yeah i got the SKE48 poster too!!

...but since that was not my goal.. i bought another copy.. then at last i got Acchan  :cow:

It's nice to see some actual discussion once in a while

That said, I'm pretty sure no one is going to argue that AKB is not a profit-driven entity. Much of my attraction to AKB derives from that; that they don't really hide what they're doing, although they try not to make it too obvious. But at times I do want to believe that all of it is just an act..

..like when Maimai gets 7 x 8 wrong

@maliciel - yep no one is arguing that AKB48 is a profit-driven entity.

@datalanche - AKB48 is different. watch AKBingo, Shuukan, Nemousu and their other shows on a regular basis and you will know what i mean (specifically the Truth Chess segments in AKBingo) and you will also deduce that AKB48 goes the distance to actually show most of their real personalities in normal life compared to other idol groups since they are idols you can meet. that is what Akimoto Yasushi had in mind.

actually if you have the time to buy and read the current issue of QuickJapan, you'll know them very much in the core (how A & K used to be rivals, the girls don't liking Acchan to be in the center, Acchan not liking to be the front girl also, etc.)

controlled environments in live interviews are normal, they are there to perform and entertain, not to bring negative emotions - they are paid to perform. why bring fights and disagreements on interviews? they are just making sure everything is done professionally.

NGG has subs of AKBingo if you're interested in knowing what the girls are really hiding

I've been into AKB48 since 2006. I'm well aware of who and what they are, marketing ploys and all.

Like I said, I'm sure their idol image is similar to who they really are, but I'm not deluded enough to think they are all as cute and bubbly off stage as they are on. They'd be kinda freakish if they were. Thankfully it doesn't matter. They're talented, fun on stage, and have some good TV shows. That's all I need to know. Their personal lives, interesting topic as it may be, are not by business. :)

Heh, looks like I haven't been here for a while.

SMAPXSMAP special was great [bgcolor=#000000]if you can ignore that kiss, which Yukirin cheated at anyway[/bgcolor], lots of camera time for almost every member, I had to rewind multiple times just to catch all the actions/reactions.
