I have been keeping fish for years at home, but sadly, now only two remain. I somehow prefer cats and dogs. Yes, you don't quite get what you do when you keep a typical pet and many people find them as amusing as looking at a kaleidoscope - you see that something moves around and that's it.

However, the point at fish is not petting them (anyone tried? even my cat did

) but more growing them like flowers. Unlike cats and dogs, (unintelligent) fish behave just like they do in the nature - they still make their own territories, some don't get along with some others, breed only under certain conditions etc, obviously having no idea they are not under the sea.
