My first encounter with Rika was with Ayaka's Surprise English Lessons... my impressions of her at first were hmmm... and then came the 'Muggy muggy bery muggy' and I fell for it >.<
The image that I have NOW of Rika is very different. Not in a bad way...
But I really liked that oh so cute, innocent Rika back then. Such a girl.  :otomerika:

Rika at her best when she tries not to be funny

The first thing I noticed about her was the kimatsu test, Okamura saying cute, and disregarding Yaguchi

^ agree

the one thing about her is that she is fearless, her "lame" stories may not be funny but she makes everyone laughs anyway

I think her stories are hilarious. XD

That's one of the things I like about Rika - she laughs when no one else is.

I really need to watch more Rika vids... T__T

Why is she pouting one second and then breaking into laughter the next? But boy her smile is refreshing

And agreed about the dork thing! xD I find a lot of her Charmy moments to be so dorkish. How can you be a dorkus and a total babe at the same time?! Well.. Rika sure makes it work.  :otomerika:

RIIIKKKKAAAA
Thanks for that, Dai. That was one of the first Rika vids I watched where I got to learn a lot about her personality.
A lot of people think she's a bit of a narcissist, and while she may come across as that a lot of the time, I think it's all in good fun. Rika's got a really big, caring heart, that's something I've noticed without fail   :twothumbs

And I always have to mention this - it's especially evident in the 'Ghost House' episode. In the pitch black darkness, Kaorin could hardly stay composed and worried only for herself, it seemed to me, and left both Rika and Nono behind as she made a panicked beeline to the exit XD
Nono was pretty helpless too, hahaaaa.. but Rika kept things together. Even though you could tell she was also quite scared, she was at least level-headed enough to grab ALL the important things, and also made sure to take care of the others. I melted into a big 'awwwww' when the two went looking for Kaorin, and while they were clambering down the stairs in the dark, Rika had enough mind to tell Nono to watch her steps carefully.. and not to be afraid. I couldn't have imagined Kaorin doing that, even though she was meant to be the leader!
And so even when the others wanted to quickly get out of there, Rika was still lingering behind, wanting to get everything they needed. She seems to have a very strong sense of duty (and righteousness, as we all know!). GO GO RIKA!  O0

TRU DAT. THAT'S the word: righteousness. So loyal she is, Rika is really a traditionalist. If you read in the tidbits tama posted earlier in this thread (and in Tsunku x MM Essay Book) Rika's mom told her to take care of the young ones (Nono and Aibon). Look at them just wrapped up like this:

I always feel she was always that middle ground - never to be in a clique. Always got along with everyone. Not only gaining the respect of the elders, but actually being very close friends. Like Kei and Yaguchi, always be hanging out. Yossi and her are practically sisters. So noble and deep rooted in tradition can be attributed to her upbringing. You see her bow like beyond 90 degrees at futsal matches. Rika really gives back to her fans, and you can see it in the performances. How playful she gets.

But man, I love her interactions with Nono and Aibon.

Rika Ishikawa PIEHOLE Classics

NATTO!!! such a lovable Motherly figure, they always gang up on her and tease her. Like this Mini Moni Temple corner XD
