It kinda bums me that my closest friends have gone on to new fandoms, even tho we still love each other (I forever love u tama + Fen, HiME, Hakai <333) it ain't the same as before. Rika's lung capacity is only about 2300 which is less than the lung capacity of an average adult (3000). That's the main reason why her voice is so weak. Rika is also asthmatic: people who have asthma have decreased lung capacity compared to normal people. Apparently Rika has one of the worst lung capacities in the whole Hello! Project so no wonder her voice is so weak. Her lungs are simply just too weak and it makes her singing sound flat.

this is what most people continue to decide. when a voice has its charm, as a creator (i.e. songwriter or otherwise...) one is always tantalized by the prospect of cooking up something with it. that is why more than half of MM's songs are written to match the pace of Ishikawa's voice, and this continues with viyuden, for which I have many ideas. This is what takes shape from working with Ishikawa.
After graduating from morning musume, what I look for is "going solo" (I think this means existing apart from MM) and only the musume who can respond to this will be able to graduate. In this sense, the responsiblity for / reliance on Ishikawa is great.
