It would be different if she were a man. Both in substance and in result.

This is one situation in which I don't see the problem of having different outcomes based on the genders involved.

She wasn't THAT much older. I know 23-year old boys that have 14 year old girlfriends. I think it's nasty both ways. But... boys in that age thinks really much about sex. ... so.. It isn't that wierd. ... for me.. ^^

I say it would be highly unfair if she was let off lightly simply because she's a woman. Regardless of what gender you may be, at the end of the day, you are still taking advantage over children, who, let's face it, don't know any better and can scar them for life. You think male victims look back and think kindly of a time when they were taken advantage of by someone who's supposed to be an authority figure and meant to trust?

Heck, NO! Boys are different from girls and I suspect these teenagers will "recover" sufficiently.

Interesting thing about Fox News informing the public about stuff like this. A work comrade pointed out another story on foxnews.com about a brother and sister in Germany who had four kids and were catching hell from every direction. The other option of course, is what if it were a male teacher who had sex with 5 boys? Why should that be treated any different?

i dunno y but if there is a male teacher involved in sex with students its always treated different than if a female teacher is involved

I doubt the boys will be scarred...

But it was still wrong because she was their teacher. The punishment should be a little tougher.

Omfg, in the classroom

!? She's lucky her students didn't find anything "weird" with the classroom <_<. I personally don't think there should be a difference in the punishment whether it's a man or a woman. In the end, it's all just "people", isn't it?

And, does anyone know how those "electronic monitoring device" thingies (mentioned in the article) work? O_o;

I was just reading that story and thought maybe she didn't take addvantage of the boys. Well atleast she took advantage of one.
Maybe that boy told his friends that he had sex with their teacher, and the other boy appoached their teacher and see if they can have sex with her.

Cause the story in that link didn't said anything about raping them. So my conclusion is that, maybe the boys wanted it.

I admit that its still wrong for that teacher to have sex with the boys. and the sentence should of been harsher.

Sweden.. and yes! I think it's disgusting too.. >_< It's not right even if they'll claim they are in love.. I always thinks that it's the older person that is responsible 'cause they would know better.

But in this case.. I actually think it's a great difference between boys and girls. I'm not saying that boys cannot be scarred for life after something awful. But reading the article I get the impression that the boys did it out of... curiosity and not.. because the teacher forced them.

Sure there is a double-standard, but when do guys, even teenagers, need to be seduced to have sex? They probably jumped at the chance. What she did is definitely wrong, but did she really exploit these kids? I wonder....

yeah 14/15 year old boys are supercharged with sex hormones,

I remember once this teacher flirted with me, I almost damn exploded.

The boys will be fine, and be boasting about it.

By the time they are 17 it will be a distant memory.

Girls are different, also 14 and 15 are very different

A 14 year old girl is very much a child, guys who go after them have issues.

But i guess looking at a lot of anime/hentai etc very young girls are seen sexually by a lot of guys. > the ideal girl for most japanese guys probably being no older than 12.

I really think the sentence is plenty harsh enough! She was just being innapropriate, If the boys have no ill feeling (which I doubt they do) she should just be banned from working woth kids, that is plenty enough.

Dont forget how big 14 year old boys are these days, and some of them were 15 too. My sister is a teacher and the kids boys & girls are very very sexual, and violent. Continually talking about 'activities' their std's and trying to rape and stab teachers.
