Last time I was in Shanghai a couple years ago, not once did I see any H!P merchandise in any of the stores I went to.  These included bookstores, video stores, music stores, etc.  And believe me, I was looking pretty hard during that month I was there.  That's not to say that there wasn't any Japanese merchandise, though.  Mostly stuff like Avex and Hamazaki Ayumi though.
 
Saying they "already got market in China" would be like saying that they already have a market in the US, or Canada, or the UK.  Sure, you might find individual fans who get their stuff imported, but there is no public exposure.  Maybe it's different in HK or Taiwan, but I didn't see anything on the mainland.

ok - yeah. i'm not happy about this either. what the heck? yes yossi won't be shunned - but enough attention would be directed towards those two simply b/c of the reactions we're getting thus far. so i think this basically wipes out the rumor about aibon coming back on yossi's grad too eh?

i hope its only temprorary to commerate the 100th anniversary thingy that is going on.

Yes, there's lots of knockoff goods, like watches, handbags, clothing.  If it's made in China, chances are there's a copy made in China as well.  Even for things not in China...
 
But really, here's what Hello!Online says:
Officially, Morning Musume's cds are not available in china, but there're lots of mm-fan clubs for some reason. Tsunku says that they're the important key persons to open a gate for Asia and they will open up the door of the new evolution of mm and Hello! Project.
The other mm members will see them for the first time on the hello project tour in Kanagawa harmony-hall Zama.

omg wow thats really good news! well for me that is? I'm really liking it, but of them are cute girls. I'm just really glad the rumors werent something bad. I was reading wikipedia, and it said they are joining as exchanging students, are they gonna be perminent members, or just temporary?

I quite doubt that could ever eventuate. Asia is pretty much dominated by China, Japan and Korea, and quite recently (despite a long history of conflict)they've become kind of obsessed with one another (language, music and that).

About the new members, I don't think they can speak Japanese properly. I guess we'll see whether they can learn it in the few months before their first public appearance. Perhaps this also means there'll be Chinese versions of MM songs (like how Maki -> Korea).

Chun Li (I refuse to call her Junjun, and Chun Li from SF is awesome ) looks very chinese if you ask me o_o if not chinese, atleast taiwanese(which really isn't much different appearance wise >_>)

I just watched the clip of her singing. She sucks, but already has more potential in her voice than Aika, Koha, or Sayumi.  With some training she'll probably sound a lot like Yossi (which really isn't saying much >_>), which is probably why she's being put into the group. Once Yossi leaves, there won't be anyone with a deeper voice.

If Tsunku is going to take over asia he should look into the philippines, there are quite a bit of cute filipino girls with nice, powerful voices.


People are hating this idea too much, the girls are damn cute! In regards to H!P I'm pretty much to the point where anything cute added to them is positive. I really don't give a shit about talent anymore, and it's just an added bonus now. It's all about the kawaii!!!
