From the article

Quote
Of the 1,600 cases registered since 1954, nearly 25 percent are classified as "type D", meaning that "despite good or very good data and credible witnesses, we are confronted with something we can't explain," Patenet said.

I believe in UFOs, and I also believe that visitors from other planets came to earth in the past. As a matter of fact I am a member of the A.A.S.R.A. (Archaeology, Astronautics & SETI Research Association).

By the way, when the article cited at the beginning says
Quote
nearly 25 percent are classified as "type D", meaning that "despite good or very good data and credible witnesses, we are confronted with something we can't explain
it is a little misleading, since the percentage of "unexplained" cases is higher, taking into account this chart from the site

As you can see, it says:
A: Perfectly Identified Phenomena 9%
B: Probably Identified Phenomena 33%
C: Phenomena that are unidentifiable because of missing data 30%
D: Unidentified Phenomena 28%
So excluding the cases where there's not enough data (group C, 30% ) that leaves us with only 9% of the cases that have been perfectly identified, and 61% of cases that are either dubious or plain unidentifiable. :D

I started believeing in von Däniken's theories, but now I am critic of both him and Sitchin. Däniken was not wrong in his basic theory, just that his research methods are biased. I believe there's proof out there, and some people like Graham Hancock are making better research.
