8GB mandatory install
http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/50871/asked-answered-gtav.html

Don't have the room for that on the 360 and I'm a bit hesitant to clear up some space.  I'm thinking that I'll get the game for PS3 instead. I just hope Microsoft doesn't pay Rockstar to get their hands on the DLC first like they did with IV.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god....

I don't have the 8GB mandatory install space for my 360 either, so PS3 it is. We, those of us here in JPH!P, should absolutely think about getting some time and playing online together. Would be hilarious!

I don't have a PS3

But, I would love to re-create the bank vault robbery scene in Fast Five.

Hell ya! I've decided to get the game for PS3 because my 360 is terminally ill.

Something that usually gets me interested pre release is finding out about the game's soundtrack. Details are starting to come out about it now and it sounds pretty ambitious

Quote
GTA V will have 15 radio stations, two talk radio stations, 240 (!!) licensed songs, and what Pavlovich calls "20 movies' worth of score." That is officially a shitload of music.

There've got some outstanding celebrity radio DJs, including Pam Grier for a soul station, Bootsy Collins hosting an 80s funk station, and Kenny Loggins hosting the classic rock station. Which hopefully will still be set to play every time you climb into a helicopter.

There's a few other songs leaked out as well. Sounds like a very broad, healthy mix. Very curious to hear it all.

I clicked that link and when I read West Coast Classics, I was sold

I didn't even need to read that list. But I'm glad I did, because Geto Boys are from Houston, Texas. With the detail Rockstar puts into the radio, I bet the person who posted that list messed up.

Oh man, I should stop nitpicking, but I take my hip hop seriously  XD

I put my pre order in. In all honesty, I don't need it right away when you take into consideration how many games I'm playing (read: a lot). Two of which are Yakuza 4 and Saints Row 3, both massive open world games with plenty to see and do already. But it feels like everyone and their mother will be playing GTA V so I might as well join in. It's almost like an event you know?

This leaked video got my hyped, a fake documentary on the gangs of Los Santos yo!

Got my copy today! Not much to say other than it's really very good so far after 2-3 hrs of living the thug life. Impressed by how smooth it runs, no slowdown or framerate hitches yet which is promising. I know I've barely scratched the surface when it comes to the game too. Lemar's hilarious and Chop's just great. Wait until you see him in action. You'll know what I mean  Driving is good (really enjoy the motorcycles), shooting feels like a cross between Red Dead and Max Payne 3 which is nice.  The immersion's just great, like in The Last Of Us it's the little added things that sell it as a believable world. I mean, you didn't really need to hear pedestrians having phone conversations between people, but the fact that they did and you can listen in if you want to? That's great. Or cars with retractable roofs. That's great too. Really looking forward to seeing more. Only briefly gone out at night, but it looks gorgeous.

^ WHAT?!  Get the hell out! I'm going crazy over here waiting to play. I leave the house in 24 hours to pick up my copy.

I loved the phone conversations in GTA IV. Really looking forward to that and the little things you've mentioned.

I think I'm most excited for the return of bikes. I was so fast on those in San Andreas.

^ Yep! I was fortunate in that I ordered through Amazon and they sent out copies early, much to Rockstar's disapproval. You'll be pleased to know that bikes are very cool to handle. Next one I find I'm going to get stored in a garage. Just wanna add that I do enjoy the tennis a lot. It's hardly the same caliber as say Virtua Tennis or something, but it plays well and I'll definately play more games. Just trying to find the golf/darts etc. As I was winding down last night, I made a point to drive out of the city towards the countryside. Along the way I found a jetski, moving down a river, to where I found an ATV and drove around some more. I'm looking up at the mountains and just wondering if it's possible to climb up them. All in all a really good looking game. Most of the songs I know of are coming out of the pop station. Never would I think I would hear All Saints in any game let alone GTA

Spent a bit of time today reading some professional reviews......then wound up getting sucked into internet bullshit. Apparently 9/10's are too low. A reviewer for the Escapist is getting the most flak for a 7/10 review. Heaven forbid someone has an opinion that doesn't agree with you! The worst case was sadly Gamespots review, written by a woman. You can guess that the comments below are both predictable and infuriating to read. *sigh*

I think everyone gets a little caught up in the hype train. Best thing to do is just close the laptop, avoid reading comments from people who are either too quick to defend something or from people who haven't played it at all and then just play it for yourself.

But watching the minority erupt in incandescent rage reminds me of this video from Mega 64

I wanna spend all the time I can with this game, but school work comes first :-/

Loving it so far. There's just so much to take in. I still can't even get over the fact that the game is finally out and that I have my hands on it.

GTA 5: fan stabbed and robbed of new video game

Quote
The 23-year-old was attacked as he made his way home from a supermarket in the early hours of this morning. He had been to the Asda superstore in Colindale, North West London, which had opened late for the worldwide release of the fifth version of the notoriously violent game at midnight. A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We were called at 1.20am to Princes Avenue, Colindale. A 23-year-old man was shopping, then on his way back home he was hit with a brick and stabbed. "He was robbed of items he had bought from a nearby Asda supermarket, including a copy of Grand Theft Auto." Police believe the attack was carried out by multiple suspects but said it remained unclear how many were responsible. The victim was taken to a north London hospital, where he was in a stable condition this morning. Detectives have asked witnesses to contact Crimestoppers with any information on the attack. Twitter users meanwhile expressed their shock at the violent mugging, with one writing, "It's just a game".

Hope this was a random incident and not because the guy bought a copy of the game.  :smhid

I think I played it for about 15 hours in one sitting (stopping for meals tho lol)
It's good, I have a few niggles with dying due to some bad programming and no fault of my own, and the rage inducing fact that your car always seems to spin around backwards, no matter what when you hit things and when you bump into cars they WILL NOT MOVE so in races it's incredibly frustrating.

I wonder if a lot of people want the PC/next gen version simply for higher resolution nipples on the strippers
I might be spoiled by PC gaming, but I do notice a lot of jaggies during the day in the enviroment, but the face animation is really good, weirdly moreso on the supporting characters like Mike's daughter and ******* lol

I really appreciate the fact that it helped me take my mind off of sad things for a while tho, a little escapism is nice.

Let's Snapmatic!!! No spoilers though :D

A pretty skyline I saw at night! & 3 dudes laying in a triangle after a rampage :O

I somehow managed to drive a car onto the roof of someone's house so I had Franklin take some selfies.

I want to play more, but my eyes are killing me.

I think one of my favorite things is the wounds that appear on your character. I just like the imagery of Franklin taking a hit from a bong while sporting a gash on his hand and cuts above his eyebrow. I also like that they appear in cut scenes.
