Nike and Jordan Brand can scarcely engineer a big-time new model these days without planning a special, China-inspired colorway. In the same vein as the LeBron 9 ‘China’ and Zoom KD IV ‘Year of the Dragon,’ check out the Air Jordan 2012 ‘Year of the Dragon,’ release date expected … sometime during the Year of the Dragon. (Is that supposed to be capitalized?) The shoe sports two-tone blue on the upper—university blue on the base, royal blue leather overlays—contrasted by yellow on the laces, inner-lining and tongue-adorning dragon, and a white outsole. Chinese characters on the medial side of the shoe finish off the YOTD theme. Hit the jump for plenty of looks and stick with NB for news as we get it. Photos via Air-RandyHK.com
Um … wow. This is the Complete Technique X Nike Snowboarding Zoom Force 1 ‘American Eagle,’ designed by Osamu Koyama of Complete Technique, a jewelry label. And yes, it’s an actual Nike Zoom Force 1 snowboarding boot in the center, surrounded by stylized gold plating. Nicknamed the ‘American Eagle,’ the design was inspired by some of Koyama’s favorite anime and manga, ‘Saint Seiya’ and ‘Berserk,’ respectively, and is a part of the Nike Shoeshine Project 2012.
