Yuko is another interesting one. She's become one of THE faces of AKB48 and as a second gen member she's been around for ages.

What makes her different is that she sees herself an as entertainer, rather than an idol. She manages to get away with much more extreme behavior and antics than any other girl, yet she manages to keep everything within the 'idol framework.' I think her a lot of people love her for that entertaining side of her.

In addition, she can also be very serious and she can take matters into her own hands. If one of the girls isn't feeling 100%, Yuko will make sure nobody gives that girl any extra stress. Case in point would be Takamina during the... one of their concerts. As such, I think a lot of the girls really care a lot for Yuko.

Even though I think she's ready to move on from AKB48, they will definitely feel the loss when Yuko steps out. I hope that day will be years away, because Yuko is a rare asset to the group.

AKB48′s Oshima Yuko joins cast of “Yamikin Ushijima-kun” movie

Some supporting cast details have finally been revealed for the “Yamikin Ushijima-kun” movie that was announced last August. AKB48’s Oshima Yuko (23) has been cast as the heroine of the story, playing a young woman who has to shoulder her mother’s debt.

Starring Yamada Takayuki (28), “Yamikin Ushijima-kun” was a 2010 television drama adaptation of a manga by Manabe Shohei. Yamada plays a ruthless loan shark named Ushijima, and the story depicts the unfortunate lives of the people he collects from.

Oshima plays Suzuki Mirai, who begins working part-time at a “dating cafe” in order to pay off part of her mother’s debt. Hayashi Kento (21) plays the greedy and ambitious Jun, a leader of an event group who will do anything to get ahead in life.

Actors Sakimoto Hiromi and Yabe Kyosuke will reprise their roles from the television series. Arai Hirofumi, Okada Yoshinori, Muro Tsuyoshi, and Kurokawa Asuka have also been cast.

The movie is set for an August 25 release date.

Yuko is AWESOME. Sae may be my favorite Team K girl but Yuko's a damn close second. As AKB48 entered the media age, she has been one of the most entertaining girls in the group since it began. Her personality is definitely out there, but in a good way. She also has the ability to get down to business and be serious. And her acting, in my opinion, is the best in AKB48 so far. Everything I've seen her in, she nailed the roles beautifully.

As a talent, Yuko is great. Great dancer, great singer, and a great entertainer for sure. She's been a staple of Team K forever and very rightly so. Her work in Not Yet is awesome as well. She's also absurdly hot. All-around a terrific girl.

Also, she's the one person who I think could do what Acchan does and actually do it well. I think she has what it takes to do it.

Did I mention she's hot?

Did I mention she has a hot girlfriend?

Yuko is probably the craziest, funniest, really bizarre girl in AKB. This is the main reason that she's my san-oshi. Her crazy and funny attitude and character put her so over the top for me. She's funny on just about any show she goes on and I love watching her do her thing on all of them.
