My Dissida disc has broke somewhat :( When I try to play as Cloud it freezes and shuts down. Yet I can play against him ok. And he was one of my favourite characters to play as too :( :(

^Looking good, great song.

I didn't know Ai was into FF. That's pretty cool.

I'm pretty exited about FFXIII, I hope they'll release some sort of PS3/FFXIII starters pack for cheap  XD

Random though: just saw the 'advent children' movie and I completely forgot about Yuffie. She's a great character imo.

You know the adamantoise? The giant turtle monster in past FF games? Looks like he's eaten his greens for this one:

"His greens" ? I say Adamantoise has eaten an entire forest!

Fixed it :w00t: I deleted the game data I installed, and tried to see if it would run straight off the UMD and now it works! I can afford the extra 5 sec wait if it means a working game ^_^

Now back to getting Cloud and Cecil to 100. :D

Great ! If any FF disc I had stopped working I'd be pissed as hell, especially if it was the newer one I bought.
I'm still a great newb in Dissidia. Only have 2:30 hours in the game. Just beat Cecil's story. I started with him because it was the easier, so it seemed the good way to start, but his attacks seem so bad to me, I don't know. Maybe I'm just playing wrong.

But when I play with Terra I have waaay much more fun. Sure it's harder, but with that good feeling.
I've watched some videos from tournaments and all, but for now it seems I still haven't gotten the way of it (and I am a fighting game junkie, but this one, as smash bros, are a kinda different than what I'm used to.)

Don't know why it is, as he's not even the highest level character I have, but Cecil just kicks ass so bad. There's an immediate advantage with him when because of his two job classes, he has 24 abilities to use in all as opposed to 12. I think he's a good beginner character to have.

At the moment though it's all about Bartz. With those combination of abilities plus the additional effects they have, he can be a strong character to use. Zidane is the worst for me right now, while Free Energe is the quickest attack to deal out HP damage, the bravery attacks are too weak to dish out any big damage unless you block first and his laser firing bravery attack is probably the worst in the game, easily blocked and hugely ineffective.

I heard a few minutes before your post.
There are a lot of people pissed of because of this!

I haven't even played the game, bu I was hoping for a 40. But I honestly didn't think they would give it, given they just gave bayonetta a 40.

Most people are pissed because FFXII (the most controversial) and Nintendogs got a 40 and FFXIII didn't. At least they have a good reason to be mad.

EDIT:
Oh, almost forgot. The Reviewer that gave 9, said the damage numbers were a little hard to see sometimes, and the beggining of the game is a little linear.

I'll just post the translation of the review:
Quote
Reviewer 1 - 10/10
Beautiful graphics and superb story. These aspects can be enjoyed without feeling as though they're being forced upon you. Combined with this, the extreme sense of satisfaction from the gameplay, is a direct result of a system that's evolved and reached perfection.
With no vice to really speak of, at this time, this game stands at the RPG forefront of a superb combination of story and gameplay who's value can undoubtedly be experienced by all.

Reviewer 2 - 9/10
There's a few niggling issues like battle damage being difficult to see, and the screen being cluttered, but the amount of enjoyment this game offers more than makes up for it. You'll be drawn into the world with visual, aural, and story aspects. I have a bit of resistance calling this an "RPG-like RPG" however.

Reviewer 3 - 10/10
Extravagant and dense (referring to the amount of content?). A lot of points to keep your eyes open for and is very movie-like. Very beautiful movies are included in a story full of events, to the point where it's difficult to determine where to put the controller down at the beginning. With the amount of character growth, gathering and crafting available in the game, there's enough enjoyable content for you to last for a while with just this one game.

Reviewer 4 - 10/10
Including the beauty of the visual side of things, the total quality is very high. The script is strictly dandy and irritating (whatever the hell that means). Character typecasting is unavoidable and while there should be "your own (character's own?) story", this does not exist. However, the sense of satisfaction gained from playing the game is extremely good, and is something I've never experienced before. __________________.

One guy only thought it was 90% good and people are pissed?

Do they ground their kids when they get 39/40 on a test?

I would if the test was a Final Fantasy Quizz   :D

But seriously, I think it's more of anger that the Final Fantasy most people disliked was the one to receive the higher score of them all. FF7 got 38. FFX got 39. FF6 got 37. And the one people hate the most got 40 (FFXII)

Probably they just wanted justice. (Justice from Famitsu at least, because this game seems like it'll be tons times better than FFXII)

Yeah, I could never get into VIII or XII myself. I loved VII and X though. Hoping it'll be closer to the later than the former.

There's currently 1 PS3/360 game, 1 PS3 exclusive game and a PSP game set in the FFXIII universe, so if it's that good there'll be a lot to play.

I think truly great games can never really be known at the time of release. Everyone knew FF VII was going to be huge - but more than a decade later and it's still one of the top selling games on the PS Store, still producing spin-offs and still selling more merchandise than the rest of the series put together. I don't think anyone at the time it came out could have known it would be as definitive as it was.

While Bayonetta looks awesome, I really doubt people will still be playing and talking about it in 10 years.

I hate anyone who says anything less than a perfect score is immediately a bad game, as well as anyone who would fight to the death over a game's review score before even playing it.

Personally I think it's being very picky if something like small numbers on a screen is seen as a valid criticism.

With all the payola going around the gaming press I'm pretty cynical about reviews. In some cases I would trust some random person on the internet who couldn't spell properly to provide an honest opinion over some of the 'professional' reviewers out there. To be honest I'm not a big FF fan. Wish they did more games for the 'tactics' series though.
