Considering how much I disliked XI I doubt it will disappoint. I played XI but more than the excessive grinding, and lack of tutorials, the menus were the real gamebreaker for me.
If SE addresses it, it should be a much improved game!
Agree but by that time FFXIV would already rule XI fan.

Awesome! But rather than having Yaguchi doing voice overs, I'd rather have Ai-chan singing the main theme for a Final Fantasy game, maybe the sequel to FFXIII Toriyama is already talking about (only interested at the moment), or VersusXIII.

I hope it happens one day. Since Ai-chan is still leader, she should use some of that power to get the whole group to sing a FF song.
I'd be content even if it was just one of those random-dungeon lullaby songs.

I hope to see her in a moogle suit one day too. :inlove:

Just made it to chapter 10, but it's still linear. I dislike the arrows on the minimap showing you where to go. I also dislike the auto-select-attacks feature (although it can be turned off and isn't all that bad when you're just grinding mobs and don't want to hit attack 4x times).

Music, graphics, story are all good (although the story sometimes has a feeling of being pulled out of someone's ass from time to time).

I was near the end-game a few days back, but choose to go to the portal back to finish those side-missions.
Funnily, I think they have more of a FF feel. Running around the place, experimenting a lot, dying an awful lot. :P
I also started falling asleep while playing (evidence that this is a FF game!)

Only missing a few A level marks (which I still have difficulty fighting), maybe some marks scattered around the world.
And 2 of the trial enemies (E1, and the secret ???). I can only get E1 down 1/4 health, meaning it's impossible for me right now.
I've already maxed the characters on their 5th class and filling up the remaining 6th class. So I guess I need to finish the game and unlock the higher levels to stand a chance.

Also saving money to buy the item for upgrading Lightning's Omega Weapon. only got 1,200,000 right now. :(

Another tip. Items and CP points have limits. Items can't go over 99, and CP points can't go over 999999. So don't forget to sell/use them like me. :banghead:

winner you should've beaten the game first because once you finish the game, the game gives you an option to save, in which you unlock A LOT MORE spaces to travel in crystarium system. So instead of suffering to go through everything, you'd have more stats, specially HP.

^ Cool!
I keep that in mind! So I don't need to rush around and beat all the monsters to gain CPs and level up the Crystariums of the characters. XD

I got killed by Odin in less than 10 seconds.  By the 10 time it seems, I was able to beat him.

+1. Oh my word my ass got handed to me repeatedly so hard the first couple of tries that he didn't even go into his shield mode. I kept checking Libra too to see what he yields too. I figured it was by building a chain up while he's in that shield mode, but turns out you just have to heal others. Which seems to tie to the storyline too which is pretty neat. I didn't realise it until after though cause I forgot to check Libra throughout the battle. It seems that you don't approach the Eidolon fights like any boss encounter, but rather there's a trick to building up the chain, but it's hard enough already to figure out what it is while your getting destroyed. Using Odin in battle though is badass! And 4 ATB gauges as well, I really like how from what I've seen already, when Lightning makes that 4th attack it's not a redo of the same attack animations but a whole new one where she flips and shoots from her gunblade. It's little things like that, that I appreciate.

FFIX seems likely to head to the PSN. I think I'll pass. Or will I? XD

I'd like a nice remake of FF6 for DS. It's my favourite Final Fantasy and DS version would give a possibility to update the graphics but keep the free world map and all of the story. Whereas on a fancier console they'd get so into updating graphics that they'd have to let go of the vast story and world, and that would suck major balls...

IF they were to remake FFVI, which is great, I would want it to be on the PSP. I've seen many people that are with me on this.
Sure, the DS is fine. but the world of FFVI is so different from the previous FFs that doing it in a system with more power would truly give the game justice. If Crisis Core was already that great, imagine FFVI!  :inlove:

Speaking of tough fights, the Inward Chaos mode on Dissidia. Sweet mother of... I can't even get past the Warrior Of Light with my Lvl 100 Squall XD God only knows how I would fare against someone I struggle with even on lower levels like Kefka. Me thinks I need some better equipment. Lvl 100 weapons I'm sure would help, but it's finding the materials to get them that are so tough.

Real panic moment yesterday when the 360 switched off by itself to reveal the RROD! :o :o But turns out it was only the electricity to the house had a minor blip because of the weather. Phew! And just as I was about the flip the final switch and provide power to the rest of the map! Quick question, should I bother upgrading weapons at this stage? I'd personally want to max the hell out of each and every weapon/accessory I get but the components I have are pretty low and I'm not really sure which ones I'd want to upgrade. I brought the ember ring up to Lvl 2 seeing as I'm dealing with Bomb monsters, but the Fire Resistance only went up from 20% to 22% which is...less than ideal XD  Also, are there two types of components to upgrade with? I see items either with some kind of screw icon or something else beside their name which seems to imply there's some difference. I don't want to put these components into low lvl equipment if they could be rare components

We're talking FFXIII, right? :P

Components with a screw icon (normally have mechanical names) also give a negative to the bonus experience (lowest bonus is x1, there's no worries dropping lower than bonus x1). In return, they can give really big experience points.
Note: Other component icon types may also have negative bonus effects, not just screw icon ones.

I don't think there are any components that are super rare. Just a few particular catalysts (components with a crystal icon), that are a little harder to get, because they are used to evolve certain maxed items. You won't need to worry about these till you start using these on maxed items.

Most of the time I 'd first use other components to raise the bonus to x3 (like buying a bunch of Iron Shells, around 35, from Creature Comforts).
Check which screw type component gives the most experience.
Then use the "screw type component x all" (all of that 1 component. e.g. Superconductor x13) to push the total experience with the x3 bonus.
The bonus will drop back down to x1 after that though. so rinse and repeat.

There's really no need to hold onto components that give experience, since you'll surely get/buy better components along the way.

Most importantly REMEMBER to sell all components that say they can be sold for a premium (e.g. Credit Chip, Gold Nugget, Cactuar Doll). They only give 1-2exp, but sell for a load of cash.

Personally, I upgraded weapons and HP/Magic+ accessories first.

Ok so, ones with a screw icon are used for upgrading, others are used to sell and rake in the gil. Gotcha. Thanks winner!! :D
