I think the story will give you some good explanations on that before it ends.  :twothumbs

Ah, I got to the final chapter and I have no will to complete it.

Maybe it'll come back after 8 days, but the battles are just so boring and my characters are not even overpowered. Everyone's only level 4 in one of their original jobs and the other two are still at level 3.

I'm not going to go through the game chapter by chapter but I thought I should give a special mention to Chapter 8. Particularly on the 360. Maybe TD here can back me up on this, but there's a pretty big performance issue for Chapter 8. I'm no tech or graphical junkie by any means but there is a lot of slowdown in the beginning as you're wondering through the square in Nautilus. Nothing gamebreaking but if someone like me can notice it, then it's kinda bad. I guess there's just so much stuff happening in that place that it's a lot for the system to keep up with. But by the time you get to fight monsters, it's all fine and dandy again so it's really a minor thing.

As for the story itself, I don't really see the point of the 'shock' at the end. I mean Sach can't have possibly died as he literally obtained the new summon just before that cutscene started. Purely guessing here but I guess that because Vanille told him that there's a purpose to continue fighting if you choose an enemy to take your revenge out on, then I imagine Sach probably decided to target the Sanctum or more specifically Jill, by feigning his own death and taking them out from within. But I'd think it would have been better if Sach just told Vanille what he was planning and kept the player in the loop too. Perhaps not even that but maybe even a wink from Sach to Vanille as he pulled the trigger would have sufficied. If it were up to me I wouldn't even have that fight with the summon monster at that point, that just ruins the surprise. Had it not been there, then I might have thought otherwise...Very short chapter though, especially in comparison with chapter 7.

And hooray for the Crystarium expanding! 1080 points for each node now it seems and theres more nodes now for each stage. Love it. Oh and I had a bit of a hurrdurr moment when I realised you could find out exactly what each passive ability you have for your characters does by pressing X on the Status screen

Trying to stay away from this thread to avoid spoilers (still playing FFXIII, I'm on chapter 10). But seriously... is there any point in upgrading weapons? I got one of Lightening's weapons (I forget which one) up to Lvl 5 ages ago, and haven't bothered fiddling with the upgrade feature at all after that xD Nor have I bought any weapons or equipment for anyone. Everything's going fine so far, but I'm scared that this "strategy" will come back and bite me in the butt later T_T;;

Oh it will ... especially if you try to do the missions on chapter 11.
If you get two weapons at tier 2 you will see your life much easier later on. I would suggest Fang as she is by far the best damage dealer in the game.
I almost forgot to say, don't upgrade just "a little", you should upgrade a weapon until it hits the "STAR" level, so it will really make a difference.

Having a good weapon is good for lots of things, faster to farming items, CP or getting a better rank in L'Cie mission. The only ones I felt like leaving it for latter were Sazh and Snow as one is more an Enhancer than anything and the other a better Defender, both of which don't need a good weapon to do a good job.

What weapons would you recommend I start upgrading? Considering I haven't actually bought any, I just use the ones I've picked up along the way o_o I love FFXIII, but I find the items stuff horribly daunting for some reason. It just seems like there's no end to the upgrading, and new items keep popping up all the time, so my mind just goes "meh, what's the use T_T". And when I did try to upgrade stuff, I ran out of resources really fast. Which was annoying too.

Well, honestly I just sell all components, haha.

the only ones you really need are:

Sturdy Bone x 36 to make the exp multiplier to x3
(buy from Creature Comforts)

then use either

Crankshaft x99 or Superconductor x99
(from Lenora's Garage)

and you'll get massive amounts of exp, and just rinse and repeat until your weapon is maxed out, then you'll need to upgrade using a stone from The Motherlode, to get to the next stage of your weapon, and so on.

There are more components and combinations, but the above is the simplest way of doing things, lol

San Diego gamer Daniel Wolf has filed a class action lawsuit against Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment America, alleging that a "widespread" issue in Final Fantasy XIII has caused PlayStation 3 consoles to freeze and even become completely inoperable.

As IGN reports, the class action lawsuit was filed June 2, and in it Wolf alleges that "severe and widespread damage" has been caused to PS3s due to a glitch in Final Fantasy XIII that causes some consoles to freeze. Wolf claims that he bought Final Fantasy XIII the day it was released, and when attempting to save his game, it froze his PS3. When he restarted it, it would no longer play any media. He's seeking $5 million in damages (which would, if actually won, be dispersed to however many more people join the class action suit).

"Both Defendants are eminently aware of the damage being caused by their defective products, and have chosen to do nothing about it," the lawsuit claims, further alleging that Sony and Square Enix have blamed each other for the problem -- Sony saying it's a glitch in the game disc, Square Enix saying it's due to an issue in the console.

There have indeed been reports of freezing issues with Final Fantasy XIII since its release back in March, and even YouTube videos showing the problem occurring. But just exactly how "widespread" it really is -- and how many PS3s are actually becoming completely inoperable as a result of it -- is hard to say.

Square Enix hasn't commented on the lawsuit, while Sony said they don't comment on legal matters.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII scans:

Is this really set in the same universe as FFXIII? Doesn't quite look it, unless it's set so many years in the past.

Currently farming against the enemies here in Chapter 9 as they keep dropping Credit and Incentive chips, which just means more gil, meaning more components to buy, meaning I can upgrade my weapons!

I think Versus must be set in Pulse in the past which has a lot of Earth style things in it, like Versus does  :cow:

Oh Tuffy, I just came to post the exact same pics and you beat me to it... lol  :P
Anyway, these pics are looking great! I love how everything looks darker than our usual final fantasies. Let's hope this one doesn't take 3 years to be in our hands.

Tetsuya Nomura seems to be involved in so many projects that we may just have to wait! XD

Yesterday I was playing Dissidia and I started off a Duel Colessum course with Warrior of Light at lvl 52. Next thing I checked, it was 2 hours later and I got him to 100 :nervous  I have a question though, I managed to get Excalibur II but it's Lvl 99. What's the point of a weapon that gives you double the EXP when you can only use it when you're that close to reaching the max level?
