Maybe they're doing this because comic book sales have been down in the States and Canada... I'd be more interested in older issues, but if it's free you shouldn't complain.

They started it 6 years ago.  It's mostly a promotion for getting people to go into comic book stores more, to make sure they don't die out like arcades have.

Only thing interesting to me is the Nexus relaunch though, so not sure if I'll bother hitting any of the local stores.
