Tanaka Rena / 田中麗奈

Any fans?? I've only seen her in the GTO Movie as yet another little brat. Other than that, it's just CM mania!

I recall watching her very first movie, when she was still a very young no-name girl. It was called "Ikimasshoi" I believe.

It was about a bunch of junior high girls who formed the school rowing club. They sucked, of course. No special about the plot, besides that it had surprisingly little sentimentality. A pretty sad movie, actually. A very fine performance by Tanaka. She wasn't cutesy at all in the movie, but performed very naturally.

The show got established in 1997 and has seen many different guests since then. Celebrities, cultured people, athletes and so on, leading people from all kind of fields get invited on the show and together with the hosts they talk about a great variety of topics. Its guests and style made it one of the few successful long-running programs on TV.

The producer of the show about Tanaka, "Tanaka-san is very proud of her own work and a very earnest and hard-working person. She is able to listen to the inner voice of the top runners and will carefully share it with the viewers."

Co-host Yanai’s impression of Tanaka, "She is very calm and always has a miraculous sense of security. Tanaka-san is able to look deep into your soul and absorb all of your true feelings. I’m just sitting by her side and yet I already feel like she knows all of my thoughts. Even for me it’s very exciting to see how this combo is going to work out."

Tanaka thinks highly of Yanai as well. "He truly is like a reassuring friend. I learn a lot, get encouraged and receive some of his creativity just by being next to him." Looks like the new hosts are already really fond of each other. It will be interesting to see them interact with each other on the show.

The new host combo will take over the show in April.

i agree. i have seen that film many times. i love the story and like rena tanaka and mayuko fukuda

^^ Fukuda was actually the best in that film, she's really good!

10 Promises was much better than the film I viewed just before that of Rena's, Drugstore Girl, okay movie but the plot left something to be desired, though you-know-who looked great in it.
