So there was another person in the cemetary besides Risa? Possibly there to visit Aika too? My guess is Koharu.... which brings me to my next reaction after reading the chapter.... OMG AIKA IS DEAD?????!!!!

The poor girl... she was so young

Maybe something happened within Momosu which caused the strained relationship between TakaGaki. I'm guessing the leader and sub had differing views on something and they went ahead with Ai's choice. However in the end Risa was actually right and they could have saved the whole group if Ai had listened.

Gosh I love how this fic ends at a cliffhanger everytime and how you introduce new characters. I also feel like a detective trying to guess stuff XD

Chapter 9 - The Arrival

We are in a plane from Europe to Japan. Most passengers try to sleep to let the time fly by like nothing. One woman is coming back from the bathroom. On her way back to her seat she notices a girl listening to music. That's nothing special, but somehow she thinks that she knows her. First she blames her lack of sleep and continues to walk to her seat, but then she suddenly stops.

~Is this?~ ... She walks back to the girl.
~Excuse me?~

"Yea?"

~You, you are Eri!~

"Huh? And who are you?" ... The girl, Eri, looks up to the woman.
"Nacchi!"

-ssssssssshhhh!- ... makes another passenger

"Nacchi?" ... Eri whispers now.

~Hi..~ ... Natsumi smiles.

"What are you doing here?"

~Is the seat next to you free?~

"What? Ah! Yes!"

~You are going back to Japan?~ ... Natsumi asks while sitting down next to her.

"Well, we are both in the same plane, aren't we?" ... Eri laughs.

-noisy...- ... A passenger mumbles.

~I heard you are successful in France?!~

"It's okay."
"Didn't you even make 1st place in the charts of Germany?"

~Yes, but that was a while ago.~ ... Natsumi still smiles.
~So, why are you going back to Japan?~
~Meeting the family?~

"That's pretty much the reason, yes."
"And yourself?"

~Same, meeting friends and family.~

The conversations continues and from time to time another passenger complains about their chuckling and other noisy sounds they make. About one hour later the plane successfully lands in Tokyo. The two girls walk around the Haneda airport and see a billboard of "Wasuru Na Kusa."

~Look!~

"Junjun is cute, isn't she?"

~This reminds me, I should visit Yuko as long as I am still in Tokyo.~ ... Natsumi picks out her phone.

"Do you think she is still up?"

~I know that she still is up.~ ... Natsumi calls Yuko.

-Hello? NACCHI?-

~Yes, it's me.~ ... Natsumi laughs.
~Good to hear you.~

-Hum...yes, same here.-
-Are you calling from Europe?"

~What? No, I am in Tokyo.~

-You are WHAT?- ... Yuko can't believe it.

~Want to meet?~

-NOW?-

~Yes~

-Sure...-

~Wait a second.~ .. Natsumi turns to Eri.
~Want to come, too?~ ... She asks.

"Me?"
"Well, I guess I still have a lot of time."

~Great!~
~Yuko?~

-Yes?-

~Guess who is with me.~

-Who?-

~Kamei-chan.~

-ERI?-

~Yep.~

-I am speechless.-

~Where can we meet?~ ... Natsumi laughs.

-You are coming with the train?-

~Yes.~

-Then let's meet at Tokyo Station, I am not far away from it.-

~Okay, I will phone you when we are there.~

-Okay-

~See you later~

-Bye-

~Let's get the next train.~ ... Natsumi turns to Eri.

"Okay." ... Eri smiles.

Chapter 10 - The Next Morning

Yossie had a very fitful sleep. No wonder, she slept in her normal clothes. She moves from one site to another. The remote for the TV is lying on the bed and with her last roll she accidentally switches on the TV.

~Whaaaaat...~ ... She looks at the clock.
~Eight in the morning...~ ... Yossie looks at herself.
~Did I sleep in my clothes?~ ... She scratches her head and yawns.
~Huh? What's that?~ ... She finally realizes that the TV is on.
~...some weird anime~
~...isn't this Koha's voice?~ ... Now she tries to identify the voice.
~Whatever...~ ... She yawns.

Yossie decides to take a shower. Slowly she makes her way to the bathroom. On her way she takes off her clothes and just let them fall on the floor. It really looks like in "Hansel and Gretel", only with pieces of clothes instead of breadcrumbs. Anyway, she successfully reaches the shower. After it she comes out in her bathrobe and looks at all the mess. Right now she is too lazy to clean up. She goes to the refrigerator, takes out the orange juice and fills some into a glass. Yossie takes a few gulps and walks back to her bed. She notices that the TV is still running. It is still the same anime.

~Mmmh...this really is Koha.~ ... She looks at the screen.
~Ah, this reminds me..~ ... Yossie searches her pants.

She searches the pants, because her mobile is in it. Now it pays off that she left a trace of clothes earlier. After no time she finds her pants and picks out her mobile. She uses the speed calling and presses the three. It rings.

~Is it too early?~ ... Yossie mumbles to herself while the phone is still ringing.

"Yes?" ... Finally someone gets on the phone.

~Ah, good morning.~

"Yossie?"

~...yes~

"Oh, good morning."

~What about if we meet today?~

"Today?"

~Sounds like a no.~
~You remember that we wanted to meet this week?~

"Sorry, but..."

~...you are busy.~

"No, that's not it."

~Doesn't matter... what about tomorrow?~

"Sure, tomorrow should be fine."

~Okay then.~
~Bye, Aichan!~

"Bye.." ... Aichan and Yossie hang up.

~Hmm..she wasn't really in a good mood~ ... Yossie mumbles to herself.
~Fine then...~ ... She lays down her mobile.

Yossie is on her way to the wardrobe, when suddenly her mobile rings again. It's the sound of an incoming text message.

~Huh? Did she change her mind?~ ... She walks back to her mobile and reads the message.
~Oh, it's from Miki.~

Okay, so Yossi keeps in touch with at least Miki and Aichan.  I wonder why Aichan couldn't meet today? Might it be work related, or something to do with her situation with Risa maybe?

Chapter 11 - The Bench

Eri is on her way home. She spent the whole night talking with Natsumi and Yuko. Natsumi decided to stay at Yuko's place to rest a bit. Later she plans to drive to her family in Hokkaido. Eri decided to leave in the morning, since her family still lives in Tokyo.

She walks into the train station. Eri sure is tired and wants to get home as fast as possible. The train will come in five minutes and she needs to sit down somewhere. There is a bench a few meters away, but Eri doesn't notice that somebody is lying on it. The angle is too sharp and her eyes are too tired. She walks up there and wants to sit down, when suddenly some woman behind her screams 'STOP!'. Eri is confused and looks at the bench. Now she finally notices the woman. Eri apologies to her and walks away. Suddenly somebody claps on her shoulder. She turns around. It's the woman again.

~What is it?~, Eri asks.
~I already apologised to you.~

"You, you don't recognize me?"

~Recognize?~ ... Eri rubs her eyes.
~You...~

"Yes."

~You are...~

"..."

~Seriously, I don't have a clue.~

"WHAT?"

~Just kidding~
~Of course I recognize you, Kei...chan?~

"That's not funny.", Kei pouts.

~Sorry.~, Eri apologised.
~So...did you just sleep on that bench?~

"A few minutes, yes.", Kei answers.
"What are you doing back in Japan?"
"I thought you were in Europe?"

~Yes, but I just arrived this night.~
~Yuko, Nacchi and me spent this night together and talked.~

"Wait a minute!", Kei interrupts.

~Hm?~

"This night?"
"I mean, now...the current night...the night that is right now?"

~Are you okay?~

"What time is it?"

~Huh? Around eight in the morning.~

"...in....in the morning?"

~Yes. Why?~

"Oh my god..."

~What?~

"I can't believe it."

~Wait, are you saying that you slept the whole...~

"Look, the train arrived!", Kei tries to switch the topic.
"Let's hurry." ... She pushes Eri into the train.

~Wait a minute.~

"You have to take this line, right?"

~Yes, but..~

"Then there should be no problem."

They both enter the train. Kei also has to take this line. Inside the train, Eri tries to ask about the bench a few times, but Kei switches the topic every time. Of course, Eri realizes that Kei slept the whole night on that bench. Kei also knows that Eri knows, but she doesn't want to talk about. It's too embarrassing for her. Eri starts to laugh about it and Kei, laughing as well, tells her to stop. Kei has to get out already. They didn't really have much time to talk. It still was a fun encounter and they both promised to phone each other again.

Kei actually slept on the bench the whole night  She sure sounded surprised when Eri mentioned spending the night with Yuko and Nacchi. I wonder why. Oh and since Yossi keeps in contact with some of the girls, it could mean the rest kept in touch with some of the others as well.

I lolz-ed at Koharu's anime on TV :P Does this mean she became a voice actress after MM?

Chapter 12 - The Poster

*ring*
*ring*
*ring*
*ring*

"What?"

*ring*

"Oh, my mobile..."
"Yes?" ... Aichan picks up the phone.

~Ah, good morning.~

"Yossie?", Aichan recognizes her voice.

~...yes~

"Oh, good morning.", Aichan yawns.

~What about if we meet today?~

"Today?"

~Sounds like a no.~
~You remember that we wanted to meet this week?~

"Sorry, but...", Aichan notices Risa standing next to her.

~...you are busy.~

"No, that's not it."

~Doesn't matter... what about tomorrow?~

"Sure, tomorrow should be fine."

~Okay then.~
~Bye, Aichan!~

"Bye..", Aichan hangs up.

Aichan didn't really follow the last part of the conversation anymore. She noticed Risa next to her. Aichan stands up, but doesn't know what to say. It's about eight in the morning and Aichan stayed in front of Risa's house the whole night. Risa asks her why she stayed the whole night. Aichan still doesn't find the right words. Risa walks past Aichan. She is on her way to the super market.

"Risa!"

Risa stops, but doesn't look back.

~What is it?~

"I...I only want to apology..."

Risa turns her head to the side, but doesn't say anything. She continues to walk. Aichan quickly picks up her stuff and follows her. Although Risa doesn't want to talk, she neither tries to get away from Aichan. She walks normal and Aichan walks a bit behind her.

"Listen.."

Risa turns right. This direction change interrupts Aichan, but she quickly catches up again.

"I know it wasn't your fault."
"I didn't want to..."

Risa suddenly stops.

~ You told them it was! ~

Aichan again struggles to respond and so Risa continues to walk.

"I didn't want them to do this."

~You want to blame somebody else now?~, Risa responds while walking.

"No..yes..why can't you..."

Risa stops again,

~What are you trying to do?~

"...to apologize...?"

~Isn't it a bit late now?~

"But..."

~It doesn't look like you felt any regret during your rise.~
~Why are you coming back now?~
~And don't tell me you are lonely, because I don't care.~

Risa continues to walk again. Aichan doesn't try to catch up again. Everything Risa said has been true and she knows it. She raises her head to look at the morning sky and notices a poster at the wall. It's an advertisement of her next tour. Aichan rips it from the wall and crumbles it up. She throws it towards the other sidewalk. It lands in front of a girl. Aichan notices her and that she picks it up. The girl looks at Aichan. They both look like they know each other. The girl looks into the direction Risa went and then turns her head back to Aichan. Aichan herself decides to leave into the opposite direction. The girl still stands there and unfolds the poster.

Damn, Aichan must be really desperate to talk to Risa if she's willing to sleep outside on her stoop like that.

Ok, now we might get some details. What is it that Aichan wants to apologize for? :?

Not her fault? She's not talking about Aika, is she? Did Aichan make some type of statement saying that it was Risa's fault that Aika died???  Is THIS the scandal that tore MM apart?  :o

If Aichan DID in fact, say that it was Risa's fault, then Risa's career would have gone completely down the toilet, no one in the entertainment industry would likely ever want to have anything to do with her.  Of course, there's also the legal trouble that she must have gone through.  It's no wonder Risa's pissed. From her perspective, the person she thought was her best friend just turned her over to the wolves, and later on, managed to escalate her career while Risa was completely blacklisted. All Risa can see now when she sees Aichan is betrayal and lies.

But then THAT begs the question, why did Aichan say it was Risa's fault in the first place? Was she actually covering for something that she herself or someone else had done? Didn't she realize she was practically dooming Risa, costing her her job and her rep in the entertainment industry? Didn't she realize that this was taking the friendship and trust that the two of them had shared over the last few years, and completely spit on it???

Does Aichan actually know what happened on that day that Aika died?

and some sort of CSI too... as we got  clue/hint little by litte...

the question is.... what makes Morning Musume breaks up?
did they break up during Aichan's lead?
Who's fault it is actually?
What does it affect the elders? Yuko, Kei, Abe, Yossie, Miki and even Aya?

Can't wait to read more...

[Sorry that I kept you waiting for so long.]

Chapter 13 - The Encouragement

"Aichan!"

The girl followed Aichan. It is obvious that she knows her. Aichan stops, still being angry and sad about the outcome of her conversation with Risa. She looks at the girl.

~Koharu...~

Koharu doesn't waste much time and immediately invites her to a coffee with the purpose to cheer her up. Aichan first doesn't want to, but Koharu is able to convince her. They walk to a café nearby.

Aichan still thinks about Risa while Koharu tries her best not to talk about all this. Koharu's plan slowly begins to work. It more and more turns into a nice little smalltalk. They both talk about their jobs.

"You became quite popular. Many of my friends are fans of you and ask me to get autographs."

~It's alright, I guess. I love the singing, but you know...~, Aichan stirs her coffe with a thoughtful look.

"The stress?", Koharu asks.

~Hm? Yeah...that and...other things..~, Aichan puts the spoon away.

Koharu realizes that something is up, but she still wants to try to cheer her up.
"No stress, no success...right?", she smiles.

~I know, I know...~, Aichan notices Koharu's effort to cheer her up, ~what about you?~

"Being a voice actor?"

~Yeah..~, Aichan at least tries to join the smalltalk.

"It's fun. I miss the singing, but sometimes I am allowed to sing the opening or ending. This keeps me connected to the music business."

~It's a shame that your solo career didn't work out.~, Aichan mentions.

"No,no..it's alright. I like the job.", Koharu smiles.

~I see.~, Aichan smiles the first time during the whole conversation.

The talk continues for a while. They talk about their schedules and all the fun aspects of their, not really new, jobs. Aichan even almost forgets about the mess with Risa. Koharu's spontaneous plan really worked out.

However, they both already talked about their busy schedules and now it's time to get back to them. They end the conversation and are both happy that they took the time to talk a bit. The two girls part with a more or less good mood. With smiling faces they leave the café.

Aichan walks to her studio, with a couple of cookies from the café for the way. First she keeps smiling, but after a few meters Risa pops up in her head again. She looks at the building the studio is inside and sighs. Life has to go on and she can't blame Risa.

~I should finally realize that I lost a good friend for good...but am I really able to do it?~

A pigeon lands in front of her. She takes her last cookie to feed it.

~Risa..~

She gently pets the pigeon and walks inside the building.
