I loved the MBC stuff. Santa Baby was a treat! Coolest Genie perf yet (seemed a lot like the version in the dance practice video, and Yoona stripping *cough* got me) The black & white things were fun. Oh, and Seohyun looked ultra pretty playing for KTW. The skit was alright, it's hard for me to focus with Taeyeon's booty and hip shakin and tummies all over the place.

The album jacket was shot on Christmas Eve. The title song has a cute concept. In the album, there are songs similar to Kissing You and Genie. A repackage album is expected.

I for one am not at all opposed to new music but damn aint it too soon? I understand using the group's momentum and pump out music to keep the buzz going which eventually leads into more money. But at least to me, creating more music in a quick fashion like this does halter one's growth & development. I wasn't a fan proper when Kissing You dropped, but those nine months between that and Gee looked to be an adequate amount of time for both the girls and SM to re-invent and improve upon what they had. But there is a reason I don't run a label.

Maybe the five or so months between Gee & Genie was enough. And if the rumors are true, maybe the 6 months between Genie and this new project is enough for growth. I am just worried about SNSD fatigue with too much material too quickly. (Then again, does SNSD fatigue exist?

)

You can see some of them look really worn out every time when they're not speaking. I don't know if one could get used to this. But during their "break" in 08, they didn't really have a break at all. They probably worked as much or even more than they do now. Because they were still not very popular, they took every damn college gig, sometimes 2 gigs a day, EVERYDAY. So it's been two years now and I doubt they will ever get to rest.

Okay so at this point, they might be tired but they are used to it now. So what about the nurturing of their abilities? I get the feeling that not giving enough down time between one major release to another hinders one's natural growth. Then again, maybe SM feels SNSD are at a point where that isn't an issue is all.

I just feel that just having Gee be the only release of 09 would have been enough. While having Genie drop later in the year obviously was good for fans but in retrospect, it just seemed too soon for another major release.

Another rumour last night was that the album would either come out on the 23rd or 30th. Bad news? The title would be "Oppa Saranghaeyo".

I hope this is not true...

"Oppa" and "Unnie" are titles that a girl uses for an older guy or girl respectively. Similar to in Tagalog we use "Kuya" and "Ate", but girls can say "Oppa" to a guy that they are romantically interested in, whereas in Tagalog, where the term "Kuya" from a girl you're interested in will soften the bone so fast its not even funny (since its only appropriate for non-romantic/family relationships). Guys will use the terms "Hyung" and "Noona" for an elder guy or girl respectively. If you watch enough variety shows, you pick up these things. I know there are terms for addressing younger people, I just don't know them all.

So "Oppa, Saranghaeyo" means, "Oppa, I love you."
