I'm kinda worry ... some newspaper even say that MM may lose their "seat" in the Kouhaku .........
Hey, it's no problem if they don't go this year. They already are some performances above some "bigger" acts. MM has 9 appearances, Hamasaki has 8, BoA, X-Japan and w-inds have 5, and some have less than five, like Utada Hikaru. It would be nice for them to make their 10th appearance on their 10th anniversary, but it's not the end of the world.
Well, it's true it's not the end of the world if they don't get invited but I'm pretty sure some of those artists have declined their invitations some time because of busy schedule or something like that.
Anyway yeah, I don't think this single is selling worse than others, it's just a matter of context. If they release the same week KAT-TUN(right now, one of Johnny's best selling groups) and a bunch of other real big seller groups do, then sure they won't get get the top spot, but I'm sure this single could have been a no. 1 if it had been released on a low competition week. Actually, there was a theory that said that releasing on high competition weeks helped raising sales too couse it attracts people to the CD shops and therefore the other singles get more exposure as well.
What I mean is that this single is probably selling just like the ones MM has released lately, it's just that the context isn't favorable.
That said, I'd really like MM to be on Kouhaku.
