lol, firstly, Maki didn't screw up, her brother did. And I think people are more likely to notice if Golden Era members screw up, since nobody really pays much attention to the new blood anyway.

People keep saying Avex, but I do not want her to touch Avex. Avex doesn't treat their people any better then UFA or JE. I'd prefer Maki to sign with someone like Sony who carries Crystal Kay and what not. Sony is more respectful and let's their artists embrace their music more. They give you more time and handle scheduling better, plus scandals don't seem to be a problem with them. Maki said her real desire is to continue singing and taking it in the direction that she wants so Sony makes sense. Sony will also give her a chance to breakout to America (if she wants to) like Crystal Kay wants too or even collab. with some big names. It's a gateway that makes sense for her.

I agree, all record companies are the devil, they don't care for the artists, all they want is money. Look for any article in the horrible world of the big 4 record companies and you'll see how they destroyed artists and the like. I just hope her career gets boosted, and she gets the proper marketing and care a talented artist as her deserves.

She's got the voice and the looks, she's a great performer and dancer, she's a hard worker, she can triumph wherever she goes, but she needs support, the industry is all about image and making trends, so she needs inteligent management.

I was discussing this with my friend, and I've actually changed my mind and I hope she goes to Sony, all my non-H!P acts are a part of Sony, or from an indie label supported by Sony.

I don't know what to say, it's a big loss to H!P, Maki was one of the symbol of the golden era, and for me the best soloist in H!P...

H!P without her will not be the same, but Gocchin without H!P neither...

I'll still support her though.

Same thought here. She was stuck in UFA/H!P and the youngest pupils are starting to stand out and getting all the attention. If only Maki can reborn like Ami Suzuki in Avex..

I agree when people says her brother thing was just the detonator since I don't really think that's the main reason why she's leaving. One of the factors, yes. I think she was already consider leaving some time ago; after all, she wasn't participating in the H!P tour. Perhaps she was already considering giving something else to her solo career and that's why the differences between her and UpFront regarding the direction her music would take. I think what happened to her brother just accelerated what was already inevitable and was gonna happen anyways.

I also share the opinion Sony's the best option for her. She'd get a lot of freedom to do what she wants and even perhaps someday we'd able to listen to some song written by her. From this point of view, it's also an opportunity to get ride of the idol image to develop a new full artist.

I'll keep supporting Maki no matter what, Maki has developed as an artist good enough to take advantage of any chance she's given. And as well, Morning Musume and H!P no longer depend on their Golden Era members. I'm sure They can do good without Maki and Maki can do good without them.

Although, can someone confirm if Sonim is a part of UFA or not, if she is there is still hope for Maki. Sonim is a part of a new girlgroup called tomboy, not only is their pv and single amazing, but I think the band is signed to avex, so who knows where Maki is going to end up.
