Nothing weird there. H!P is just one of UFA's clients (even though it is the biggest revenue they have). H!P, because of the nature of its artists, has certain "artistic paths" that it won't cover. Maki wants to get rid of the Idol thing, so she may want to do something like Emyli (also a UFA artist) http://www.emyli.net/

Hope not.. Since Emyli's sales almost don't exist. H!P is actually UFA. The rest barely count (if not at all). What I meant by saying "weird", is why staying in UFA? Outside of H!P, UFA is nothing. Perhaps they just don't want Maki to leave them that easily. Maki staying in UFA makes me think this was something they had already talked about already, and the evil yakuza brother thing just pushed things up. Maki leaving H!P makes me think in Sony, Avex or anywhere else where she could evolved more as an artist. But staying in UFA, I hope at least they give her something back, like give her singles and albums a really good promotion.

But seriously i think it's more of some management issues that is unresolved because the news of her getting left out of the concert was way before his brother's arrest.

Ahh what the hell, she'll do much better with Sony or Avex. GO MAKI GO

Maybe she wanted to leave and used the thing with her brother as an excuse to bail out.
Hopefully she'll sign to a company that gives her a good deal.

I never cared much about Maki, but I think it's good that she wants to stay in the business in the future, not like some other H!P members who had scandals and stopped working in the business >_>

But the official announcement seems to point to the fact that she leaves H!P, but remains under UpFront, so I don't see Avex there (maybe Sony, after all Zetima is under the wing of a Sony affiliate, and all Zetima records are distributed by Sony)

so leaving H!P but still under UFA. i guess if she under TNX, maybe she'll do just as good as when she's with H!P/UFA. and probably Tsunku will give her more creative freedom.

of course with the power SMEJ and AVEX have in the industry, working under them will be great opportunity.

and can't her friend koda kumi, whom is under Avex, help her do the transfer if she so desire after her contract with UFA expires.

Wow. I choked up reading that. I too have been following her since she was 13 and she just set the bar so HIGH. Soonk you Crackhead, hope this is a wake up call for him.

Y'all called it, paves the way for TNX. I like it, as long as she don't get preggo and ends up doing cooking shows with Martha Stewart or marrying some goatee'd drummer.

i thought tsunku would have sign her..and i guess i was right... i think gocchin is still under UFA coz the contract is not up yet i guess, but her contract as H!P member was up, and she didnt want to re-sign it. well i dont really know these things, my mind is messed up right now, i cant think straight, im so hell of a worry over gocchin right now, tho i will continue supporting her to the end

Wow... in a way I'm glad she graduated, she was stuck there, we could see she wanted more than what H!P could give her, and Tsunku tried to give her a different look than what the rest of H!P has but she couldn't go further so I guess it's a good thing. Although, I'm scared she'll lose popularity.

Unless Maki burned her bridges by cursing out her bosses or staging a strike during the MM Tanjou 10nen tour instead of actually being sick, her split from H!P is probably an amicable one. It's happened before with Sayaka, who left MM/H!P to try a different kind of music with Cubic Cross. Sayaka wasn't treated like a pariah after she left. She was still given good promotion afterwards and was allowed to make appearances with the other girls on occasion. There's no reason yet to believe Maki didn't part on the same good terms.

Don't worry, Gocchin needed to do this for various reasons like it's time for her to be a mature solo artist and not an icon. The HP stuff is fun for kids but she's been grown up now and needs to quickly find her style she wants to persue musically. With all the set backs this year, she'll have to rebuild her new style and move on which will be more difficult for her but must keep supporting her as she is and will be a great singer, dancer, model, performer, & artist! I wish her a great label that can finance finally a band and bigger shows for her which is something HP didn't provide. I'm looking forward to her future now. Let's keep supporting our inspiring Gocchin!
