Kamei Eri 1st Post
Years and years of track team were about to pay off for one very, very late Kamei Eri. "I can't believe I forgot! Again! And I'm going to be late! Again! But this shouldn't be too shocking because it happens all the time. Shocking would be actually remembering! Really they should be happy that I'll be there at all because I might not have been if I hadn't seen that memo I left buried beneath everything on my desk. So it's really good that I'm not organized. All of those papers would not have tumbled off my desk and gotten my attention to look at the memo...!"
She continues mumbling to herself this way with her strange logic, as if carrying on a full conversation with someone that only she can see. Stretching her arms over her head and hopping up and down alternatively from one foot to the other, she prepares to fly from Shibuya Station to the NHK building. She's not more than twenty feet forward before it occurs to her-- luggage-- and she comes to a screeching halt, eyes wide like saucers. A strangled kind of keening sound finds its way to her lips as she whirls around and sprints like she never has before back to the train to retrieve her luggage, praying it is still there.
A good five to ten minutes later, heavy luggage in hand, it is clear to her that sprinting to the meeting won't be happening. She steps up to the street-curb, sticks out her hand, and booms with all her frantic might, "TAXI!!"
Much later than she cares to think about, the taxi arrives at the NHK building and she just about tosses the money at the driver as she throws the door open and leaps out of the car. Ready to run now as she had not been able to before, she takes off while the driver calls to her from behind "Luggage?!" She tosses back over her shoulder to him, "Just. Just. Just.... leave it there on the sidewalk bench! I'll get it later! Arigatou!" and as she silently prays she will not regret that decision, she decides losing her luggage would be far better than the wrath of Up-Front Agency.
With this in mind, she sprints toward the meeting and miraculously locates the correct room with ease-- her first break of the day, things are looking up! She stops at the doors to quickly compose herself and then steps in, sucking in her breath and biting her lip, preparing to be noticed but still hoping she won't be. She keeps her eyes locked on the closest available seat, steps purposefully towards it, and plops down onto it with a sort of quiet but frantic speed.
Finally, as she's sure the looks of disapproval have died down, she looks up and about, searching for her best friend, Sayumin.
