Yeah I never understood why people considered her less attractive either. Even when she gained a little bit of weight she was still very pretty. The only thing I can think is that maybe people think less of her looks because she's not one of the lady types. I mean when you put her next to Rika no matter how close the two of them are as friends they're pretty different in terms of mannerisms. Just look at that H!M ep where the two of them went on the date with that rich old guy. Though Rika is also like Makochan, the butt of the joke, she's know first and foremost as the lady-like, super girly, beauty queen. Thats something Makochan doesnt have, she could have had it but comedy is what got her some attention early and I dont blame her for sticking with it.

I'd love to see her bedroom, if it really is as girly and pink as she says it is.

Didn't Makoto say that her bedroom was too pink for Nono!!!!!. I like the fact that Makoto is not obversely girlie or ladylike.Her energy and sense of fun made Makoto stand out in morning Musume. But I think secretly she is girlie she just hides it.

I never would have pictured Mako with a pink bedroom...looks like there's a girlie-girl hiding in there aftedr all:panda_haha:

Yeah you're right, she did say it was too pink for Tsuji when she and Rika slept over. I'm sure Rika felt at home with all that pink. :ONwriggly:

I do sort of wonder why she always hid how girly she is. I3 also always wonder about how she and Miki feel about each other, its just a question that pops into my head every once in a while. I mean its obvious how she feels about a few of the members (for example two certain 4th gen members and KonKon obviously).

How did she feel about them?

Miki seems to like Makoto. I mean she doesn't dislike her from the talk in Mako's graduation DVD and RNK. Oh and in the WHL concert too. It's probably pretty hard for anyone to not like Mako-chan.

Well I mean obviously she just loves Yossie, Rika, and KonKon and vice-versa. I realized that I didn't recall ever seeing her with Miki (nor 6th gen in general much, but specifically Miki). I sort of wondered if maybe Miki didnt like her or something. I do agree that its very hard to not like Makochan, theres really no reason to not like her.

U know, i'm really starting to fall for makoto, i mean i liked her b4, but not so much. i recently been watching past morning musume and h!p videos, such as interviews, skits, hello morning eps and such. i find her very kool and energtic. she seem so likeable, even though other people teases her and how she is like a old grandma and the way she acts, she nevers disappoint and always smiling. she really shines on me.

Makoto is one in a million.I 've never seen why she was called an old granny.All I ever seen is someone who is lively,playful and humorous.
I know on Utaban they always said that she was like Kei and called her an old man:(

With so many girls in H!P its probably hard to know everyone really well. Maybe 6th gen as a whole are more closely knit with the exception of Miki who's with Ayaya. But they do go out for meals and stuff at least she does with Reina and Eri. Miki also did say that she hopes to hang out with Makoto soon.

About the Miki not liking Mako-chan bit I thought that too in the past when Miki flung Makoto's hand away when she tried to hold her hand after the annoucement of the 6th gen. But she seems to have mellowed now and genuinely likes the other members.

Throwing in my 2 cents.

I agree that it's SO hard to dislike Makoto, she's never done anything that would make me dislike her, and it's a wonder why she wasn't more popular. I remember when I first got into MM stuff, and I would watch videos of their dances and such, and one girl would always stick out because she was SO awesome in her dancing and I found out that it was Makoto. She's always really enthusiastic and funny-- I'm glad someone subbed her graduation special, where she was absolutely hysterical. She could always take that verbal beating from the other members but she was always Mako in the end!

Mako was a HUGE part of what made MM... well, MM, in my opinion. So it's definitely weird since she's been gone-- still doesn't feel quite right without her there. But yeah, in short, Mako's awesome.

I thought that Miki did not like Makoto either. But now I'm not so sure When Makoto graduated at Ribbon no Kishi Miki comments seem very genuine and Miki seemed to really like Makoto. I was surprised by that.

I agree, it didn't sound like Miki was being at all fake after Ribbon no Kishi. I don't know how Miki felt about Mako before, but there doesn't seem to be any bad blood now.

I just watched the musical a few days ago. I loved watching Mako in it. It was sad to see her graduate at the end:ksad:
