To congratulate Mano Erina's graduation, began a rewatch marathon of all things Mano.
The FRIENDS "Manoeri HISTORY" DVD from 2009 was a great way to look back on her debut years.

Feeling kinda depressed thinking Mano probably won't be doing kawaii/idol-y type charas in her future career. I know it's all good, but it's still a little sad.

Checked out Tokyo Shoujo, which turned out pretty deep.

[Event Report] Erina Mano Tearful First Appearance At First Event Since Leaving 'Hello! Project.' 'I'm so blessed to have everyone waiting for me'

On April 13th, Erina Mano, who graduated from 'Hello! Project' on February 23rd, held a fan club event called 'MANO Friends Party vol7 ~Minna! 5shunen Totsunyu & 22sai Seitansai Dayo!~' at Laforet Museum Roppongi in celebration of her 5th anniversary since debuting and her 22nd birthday (April 11th). This was the first event she had (except from greet and meet events) since departing from 'Hello! Project.' With the 3 appearances she had, she had a total of 1600 fans attend the events.

Mano will be starring in the new TV Tokyo drama 'All Esper Dayo!' that started airing on April 12th, which will be her first terrestrial drama series that she will be starring in. With a side never seen during her idol days, topics about 'Mano-chan' became a trend on twitter during the airing of the first episode and became something that caught the public's eye.

The crowd cheered with surprise as Mano appeared from the crowd and not the stage and went around waving at her fans holding red glow sticks. The show began with a quick surprise entrance followed by the crowd singing 'Happy Birthday' for Mano's 22nd birthday, as she commented how she was very happy to have been able to hear everyone sing.

As Sawayaka Goro lead the event as the MC, they had an interactive quiz game with the crowd called 'Mano Fure Taiko! Mano-chan Docchi de SHOW' where 10 people selected from the crowd answered each question by guessing which answer Mano would choose.

With the quiz game revealing Mano's thoughts, one of the questions asked was 'Which behavior bugs you more in the movie theater? A couple making out in the seat next to you, or the person sitting next to you loudly munching on their snacks?' Her answer was, 'a person loudly munching on their snacks' in which she talked about a real life situation in which this actually happened.

'I went to watch a movie with Yuu Kikkawa about 2 times last year. We decided to share popcorn and we put it in between the two of us. Then, Kikka ended up eating most of it. Even during an important scene she would be like this (gestures putting popcorn in mouth). I was like, ‘Kikka...?' And she also talks to me during the movie. That's the worst! I was like, ‘What's the point watching a movie at the movie theater!' So now, I rent DVDs and watch it with Kikka instead of going to the movie theater with her.'

With this story of Kikka, Sawayaka Goro could only comment jokingly saying, 'such a barbaric person...'

Along with messages from members from the 'Hello! Project' congratulating her, a message from a junior member, Aika Mitsui, appeared during the quiz game, 'HelloPro Member Message Quiz.' She told Mano how Mano has promised her that she would go take her out drinking once she turned 20, that they would go to Sanrio Puroland together, about having a hotpot dinner party, and making 'tako yaki' (octopus balls) together, and none of these have yet to come true. This has given Mano a reputation of slightly being talk-only and no action.

The next question given to Mano was, 'Who would you want to go to an ‘onsen' (hot spring) with if it was just the two of you?' Even being in the same 'Hello! Project', it is rare for Mano to go somewhere with just one other member, and in the beginning, it is common for her to go out with a group of 3 girls (this may be also rare since it is difficult for the schedules for all three girls to match). Yet, to this question she answered by naming Momochi (Momoko Tsugunaga), explaining how she's one of the people that she can show her true self around, although she claims that she doesn't really tell Momochi how much she likes her. She also continued on with an interesting story about Momochi that happened the other day when Mano saw Momochi in a magazine. Mano thought Momochi looked extremely cute, so she took a picture and sent it to Momochi saying, 'This is so cute!!!' in which Momochi replied bluntly, 'Yeah, I know.' Mano showed a disgruntled side by commenting, 'I built up the courage to tell her how cute she looked and that was her reply!! Momochi seems like a cold-hearted girl in public, but she just hides her kind and nice side.'

Mano mingled with her fans by stepping off the stage into the crowd to interview the selected people from the crowd who guessed the top 5 super powers Mano would want to have. As Mano brought the microphone over to the selected fans, those fans must have been in an ecstatic state when correctly answering the questions for their favorite idol, Mano.

After an exciting game of 'Mano Fure Taiko! Mano-chan Docchi de SHOW' where the fans got to know Mano better, Mano left for a brief moment to prepare for her performance. While Mano changed costumes, Sawayaka Goro announced the following:

-Mano 'doesn't know' the rules for sepak takraw
-Mano's favorite insect is a 'baby praying mantis'
-if Mano ran a 100m right now, 'it would probably be 18 seconds'
-Mano's least favorite multiplication is 'multiples of 4'
-if Mano was a baseball player, she would want to be the 'third baseman'
-Mano's favorite toe is her 'second toe'
-a train station name on the Yamanote line that Mano thinks is interesting is 'Okachimachi'
-Mano would rather 'break her ‘osenbei' (rice crackers) in the bag'
-when eating ‘gyoza' (pot stickers), Mano puts '1 soy sauce: 3 vinegar and 3 drops of chili oil'
-Mano's favorite seat in the bullet train is the 'window seat', because she can 'charge her phone'
-when eating curry, Mano puts '4.5 rice: 5.5 curry'

With the crowd enjoying this random information about Mano, the event continued on to her mini live performance. With her personal color red as the theme color for her costume, the fans called out to her shouting, 'Kawaii (Cute)!!' Mano started off her performance sitting in front of the white piano placed in the middle of the stage and played 'A Maiden's Prayer', one of the songs she also performed at her very last 'Hello! Project' concert. The piano performance showed her desire to want to have a proper show for her fans despite the fact that she had been in actress mode ever since her departure from 'Hello! Project'.

As she performed 'OSOZAKI Musume' in front of a sea of red glow sticks, fans shouted out her name as they cheered her on. Suddenly, Mano was forced to go to the side of the stage when there were some problems with her costume. As this happened, the fans started calling for Sawayaka Goro to come out. As Sawayaka Goro announced how Mano was having some issues with her costume, the 'Goro!' calls suddenly changed to 'Manety' calls, calling for the manager. When Mano finally came back out to the stage, she explained, 'They made this cute costume for me but it's a bit complicating to put on. So the 3rd time Manety (manager) put it on for me... but when the Manety calls started, I was rushed out by Manety (lol),' in which the crowd nodded in comprehension.

The song 'Ambitious Girls' which has been performed since Erina Mano's first concert tour 'Introduction ~Hajimete no Kando~' has a light and playful rhythm with lyrics including the phrase, 'You gave me the courage to keep moving forward to tomorrow/ You're always there watching over me!' that went very well with the 'MANO Friends Party' theme. With the last song, 'Banzai!~Jinsei wa Meccha Wonderful!~' the crowd cheered with satisfaction as the mini live ended.

On the original schedule that was given to Mano, it was time for her to give her final comments to the audience, but her fans had something else in mind. With Goro's signal, all the fans read the message that was given to them at the beginning of the concert. 'ManoFure (fans) ‘love everything' (Zenbu Dai Suki) about Mano-chan! You must have had a lot of ‘first-time experiences' (Hajimete no Keiken) since leaving ‘Hello! Project'. There must have been many things that ‘you weren't able to tell anyone about'(Dare Nimo Iwanaide). But your ManoFure will 'always' (Itsumo Itsudemo) be there through the hard times to support you. Please promise to always keep a smile on your face.'

With her song titles mixed into the message, Mano's eyes filled with tears. It was a moment where the surprise that the fans planned for Mano was a great success. On top of all this, a hand-written birthday card from each one of her 1600 fans that attended the event were given to Mano.

'Honestly, this was the first event that I had since I left 'Hello! Project' and I was so worried about how many people would show up. With the fan club switching places and a year and a half going by since I left, I didn't really have much time... But I'm so blessed to have people like everyone here waiting for me and supporting me. Even for today's event, I had some feeling of guilt because it's during the shooting of the drama that I'm in... But I really didn't want to make any excuses. I wanted all the people who came today to leave with a smile. I told myself that I would keep a smile on my face even if I made a mistake. Till now, when I made a mistake I would be worried about breaking out into tears, but if I keep a smile on my face even if I make mistakes, I was hoping everyone would be more understanding. I need to be stronger in that sense. What I really need to do is to not make any mistakes, but sometimes mistakes happen at a live performance, so I hope you call all see past that (lol)' --- Erina Mano

With such an unstable relationship she had with her fans, Mano was very emotional with all the unchanging love and support she received from her fans. As the fans also felt joy by seeing Mano happy, the happiness that both parties felt seemed to be on the same level. With such a love and happiness filled event, it seemed like Mano and her fans were sharing their feelings for each other.
