Blegh so I really don't like how the first part of this is written
But yea...a lot of this chapter is very filler
I promise the Ai/aika/Risa/Eri part of the story will intertwine with the Miki/Koha/Yossui/Aya part next chapter

Chapter five: Family Matters
After Ai woke back up from her trance they both began to walk home together again. But now it seemed a little awkward. Well not for Ai, she began to talk and talk and talk about just random things. To Risa though, she felt that Ai had deliberately ignored her question about this weekend and was now trying to cover up her strange behavior by talking a lot.
As they approached the Takahashi residence Ai suddenly changed the subject from how much she wanted a new puppy to, “So what are you doing this weekend Gaki?” It was a very innocent question that confirmed Ai just hadn’t heard Gakis earlier question.
Gaki brightened up, “Nothing yet. Why?”
“Just curious,” and they kept walking. Ai said nothing more about the subject. Like she was truly just curious and nothing more.
Gaki paused and said hesitantly, “What about you?”
“Oh I don’t know. I have nothing really planned yet besides choir on Sunday.” She smiled and they turned the final corner and now were only two houses away from Ais.
Last chance Gaki, “Want to hang out tomorrow?”
“Sure,” she answered like it was just another weekend with all three of them. “Why don’t you invite Eri to?”
“No,” Gaki answered a little too quickly making Ai look at her curiously. “I mean…she probably is going out with Michishige tomorrow. I think she mentioned something about that,” Gaki lied.
“Oh ok, then just the two of us.” Ai paused in front of her house and winked playfully. “Then it’s a date,” she said jokingly.
Gaki nervously laughed trying to pretend like the joke was funny, when in reality she wished it had been said much more seriously. “I’ll see you tomorrow then,” and she turned to walk away.
“Bye Gaki!” Ai yelled.
As she entered her house her mood suddenly changed. She had been acting all cheerful just to try and not arouse anymore suspicion from Gaki. She didn’t need to know about her family life…
Ai was surprised that when she looked around he wasn’t home. Actually, neither was Aika. Soon she did find her mother sitting in the living room watching television.
“Uhmm where’s Dad and Aika?”
“I don’t know.”
“Do you know when they’ll be home?”
“Nope.”
“Oh,” Ai sighed. She had great memories of how nice her mother used to be but that was from over ten years ago. “Why do you…” she trailed off.
“What?”
“Nothing,” I’ll just ask dad when he gets home. I have to…

Miki stared at the blond haired girl in front of her before sarcastically replying, “What are you doing here?”
“Aww come on, let me in.” she whined leaning against the door like a child. Miki rolled her eyes and unlocked the balcony door before sliding it open. She swiftly turned around and headed back to the bathroom for her shower. “What I don’t even get a hello?” Yoshizawa Hitomi asked as she closed the door and curtains behind her.
Miki stopped walking and turned around, “Hello Yossui.”
“Aww that’s better. I knew you missed me,” she smirked walking over to the slightly shorter girl.
Miki couldn’t help but smile. As much as she was sour to the whole world, Yossui was probably one of the only people she didn’t hate. “So to what do I owe this pleasure to this time?”
“I kind of miss working with you, you know?” Yossui said with a slightly sad tone.
Miki sighed; mentioning them working together always brought back memories of Aya. “Yea, I know what you mean.”
Yossui leaned in very close to Mikis ear and whispered very slowly, “Besides, I just missed you.” Miki shivered with every word.
“Is that supposed to be suggestive?” Miki asked pulling back from Yossui a little bit.
Yossui smirked and cocked her head to the side, “A little.”
Miki smirked back and began to walk to the bathroom once again, where her relaxing shower awaited her. On the way she pulled off her shirt and looked back at Yossui winking. Right at the door she pulled off her pants so she was left in a just her undergarments, Yossui couldn’t tear her eyes away.
“I’m going to take my shower now. You can wait here if you’d like." She paused, "or not.” She raised an eyebrow at Yossui suggestively before walking into the bathroom and closing the door behind her.
Yossui stood there with her mouth slightly open before regaining her senses and walking over to the bathroom door. She knocked three times. “May I come in?” she asked as she turned the handle.
But was then surprised to find the door locked and heard maniacal laughing from the inside of the room. “I want to relax tonight Yocchan,” she said still laughing.
Yossui growled and banged her head against the door. “You suck.”

“So zoo tomorrow?” Gaki asked over the phone to Ai.
“Yea, I’ll meet you there at eleven.”
“Ok cool,” Ai noted that her friend seemed a little more excited than usual about just going to the zoo. “Is the zoo really that exciting?”
“Uh…well…” she stuttered. “There’s a new tiger exhibit I want to see..yea.”
“Ok whatever,” Ai laughed but then suddenly stopped as she heard the door open and two familiar voices came from the entry way. They were laughing and talking about something Ai couldn’t make out. “Hey Gaki, hold on really quick.”
“Ok-“ Ai set down the phone and walked through the kitchen to the entry way where she was just able to see her mother leaving through the front door and her father and Aika standing there. Her dad didn’t look very surprised, but Aika looked very disappointed.
“Mama?” she asked staring at the door.
Quickly Ai walked up to Aika, “Hey kiddo!” She said ruffling her hair a little to try and distract her from her disappointment.
“Ai!” she yelled embracing the taller girl.
“Hey Ai.”
“Welcome home Dad.” She smiled and led Aika into the living room where they sat down and Ai changed the channel to some kid show for Aika.
After a little while she heard the sink running in the kitchen, dad was making dinner. “I’ll be right back, k?” she said to Aika, who nodded mesmerized by the television.
Quietly she walked into the kitchen trying to think of how she was going to ask about Aikas past. She knew it had to be something he didn’t want to talk about since he never seemed to bring it up, yet it was destroying his marriage.
Her dad was standing at the counter cutting some vegetables when he turned around and noticed her. “So how was school?” he asked like he normally would.
“Fine,” she replied like a typical teenager. But usually Ai wasn’t a typical teenager and would tell her dad all about her day, they had a good relationship.
He paused his cutting and looked at her. “Is everything alright?”
“Dad can I talk to you about something?”
