still on this scene... man, i think slow... i'm trying to get a grip with grammar... and a lot of other things XD...

graduation's making me too happy again...

really short and sad update... i'm soooo happy, it's sad

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hitomi could only watch as the man she called father walked away, humming a pleasant tune.

*ding*

That single note of a sound from the elevator brought her to a sigh of relief. At least, in a moment, he will be gone. His mere presence made a mockery of her injuries. She felt helpless. She hates feeling helpless.

As soon as the elevator had descended, a tear fell from her eye. She couldn't let him see it.

She banged her head on the solid wooden door as she turned the key. There was nothing else that could be done, nowhere else to go.

The door creaked aloud as she pushed it open. It was the first time she ever heard the door make a sound like that. Maybe it has made that sound since forever but she just didn't notice it. It surely didn't creak that night when she snuck up on Rika and Ayumi.

She staggered into the condo behind the cane. The hall didn't look any different from the way it looked the day before but it felt like a different place.

The door closed at the slight push of her hand as she kicked off her shoes.

"Ka-chan? ... I'm home." She called out.

She did not take a step further.

She waited for an answer.

But none was given her.

There was no one to give her a response.

She took a step again.

And another.

"Rika-chan, I'm sorry I didn't phone home last night... I slept over at Ayaka's..."

A tear fell, unrestrained. She couldn't hold unto them anymore.

"Rika, I didn't..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~no zing in this one~~~~~~~~~~~~
hmmm... sleepy... ^^
for some reason, i was relieved at seeing this: :cry: ... not that i take pleasure in pulling kids by the arms and twisting them... just happy that the sadness came across...
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sirens blared from a few miles away as Shark parked the BMW Z4 by 7-eleven just across her boss’ condo. She has completed the task and like always, is supposed to disappear from the scene but for some reason, she wanted to wait and talk to the captain personally regarding this case.
Still in the driver’s seat, she dialed Hitomi’s number. The phone rang a couple of times but there was no answer. She dialed the home phone number but there was still no answer.
She watched the main entrance of the condominium building but the captain was nowhere in sight.
It was already 8:30.
It wasn’t like the captain to be late especially when she’s the one who set the rendezvous. Then again, this wasn’t a rendezvous to begin with. The order was to get the car then at 8:30, nothing else.
But the new mission…
 The new mission intrigued Mako deeply.
Third’s files, the old pair, Jin… Ishikawa…
The mere fact that even Third was recalled whilst a mission was yet to be completed worried Mako.
Just find her?
Mako knew she had to. If the Eyes fail this one, she will bear it as her own failure. She cannot bear to fail the captain. Not again.
She wondered if Hitomi knew as much as she does about Rika. Maybe not.
8:45. Hitomi was still not there.
==
Mai looked outside the car, feeling lost. "Oi, Ayaka, that's not the way to work"
Ayaka did not answer her and just continued to drive.
"Mah~ we're not going to Yoshiko's, are we?
"We are..."
"She said she'll meet us at work..."
"Yes, that's what she said... but we're not the type to listen, right?"
"Can't we give her some time to herself at home? You know, she can't tear the place down right now so you don't have to worry about that"
"That's not what I'm worried about... She left her medications at home. For all we know she can't even lift a limb much less walk and drive without writhing in agony... But I was worried about letting her go home alone..."
"I am worried about her too, you know, but there's nothing we can do about that..."
Is it such a good idea for Shark to leave the car that she just stole from the impound lot out in the open like that? There's likely an APB (All-Points Bulletin) alert to the cops to keep an eye out for it.  :P
Something tells me Mai and Ayaka had better hurry over to Yossi's. :O
UPDATE!!!!!
She twisted the doorknod in the fashion which she thought would produce the least noise. No one needed to know that she was around. Yet the creaking door would not let her presence remain unknown.
"Rika?" Hitomi called out at she struggled from the kitchen to the door. Her voice was filled with optimism.
"Uh... no... It's me, Captain." Mako replied with some discomfort. She was not used to introducing herself after breaking and entering into private property. "It's Shark"
She read disappointment written on her boss' face just as Hitomi turned back to the kitchen and proceeded to the kitchen counter. "Ah... You got my car?"
Mako followed her into the kitchen though she was uninvited. "Uh, yeah. It's across the street. I mailed the records from the police station to the Way..."
"...Records?"
"Uh... Records of your car being towed, captain..."
"Ah... thanks"
On the solid granite counter were two plates, each with a bagel topped with cream cheese and some blueberries, and two glasses of water. It was breakfast for two.
What followed Mako in the kitchen was just silence.
Hitomi took a bite of the bagel on her plate. "Have you found any leads?"
"Well, since you gave the case just yesterday, nothing much yet... Just the license plate of that taxi Ishikawa-san took from the hospital... That's the strongest we have as of now..."
"I see."
"Ano... Captain... You see..."
"Jin hired you to tell him who she is?"
"Uh... yes... bu--"
"And you didn't report this mission to me?"
"Yes, but cap--"
"You know that is against procedure." Hitomi did not look at the agent.
"I know and as leader, I actively chose not to report to you. Look, we didn't tell him anything."
"Nonetheless.."
"If you're looking for someone to blame for her identity being found out by your old man, I am telling you, you cannot look at the Eyes for that. We don't know how he could have found out. But it's definitely not us."
"..."
Hmmmm...so Shark says The Eyes didn't tell Jin anything? If she's tellling the truth, then Jin has another operative that no one (as of yet) knows about. :o
stay 'til the end, okay?
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rika stood patiently in line. It was almost 8:30 am and yet the jeepney terminal was still very busy. Before, it was only this busy from 5:30 to 7:00.
She counted the coins in her hand again, making sure she had the fare right. Seven pesos.
After a couple more minutes and a few steps forward, she was right in front of a smal table covered in linoleum, manned by a girl looking in her late teens.
"Isa po, hanggang LRT lang" (For one, upto the train station only) She said as she laid down the stacked coins on the table.
The girl handed her a small, round, blue poker chip which was immediately taken from her by the barker who pointed her to the jeepney.
She looked into the jeep. It looked full. Yet that moment's hesitation to enter the jeepney prompted the barker to yell at her. "Kasya pa po kayo, ma'am" (You can still fit inside, ma'am)
It was cramped, and hot. Still the barker and the driver insisted that there was still room on the right side.
She looked at the right side of the jeepney. All of them looked away, refusing to move for her sake. Rika didn't blame them, though.
"Makikiayos na lang po. Sampuan po talaga yan!" (Please, sit properly. It's really for ten people!) He yelled to the other passengers. "Paupuin n'yo na po si madam. Pare-pareho po kayong di makakaalis hangga't hindi puno yung jeep!" (Please, let her sit. You all won't be able to leave unless the jeepney is full.) He banged the wall of the jeep with a folder.
Finally a girl, seated at the end of the jeep took a deep sigh and squeezed out of her seat. Before the man beside her could slide over to the now-void spot, the girl shouted. "Miss, dito na kayo maupo!" (Miss, you can sit here!)
The girl sat on the floor by the doorway of the jeep, her feet resting on the step.
Rika took the dedicated seat after apologizing to the girl.
The girl didn't look back up to Rika but she replied to the apologies. "Wala yun, miss, okay lang tayo. Malapit lang naman ang bababaan ko..."
The barker stood by the door, with a frown. "Miss, di po kayo pwede dyan. May sasabit pa po." (Miss, you can't sit there. There's still someone who can hang-hitch here.) He said to the girl.
The girl did not budge. "Wala pong sasabit." (No one will hang-hitch) She said with a firm tone.
But the barker was as indignant as her.
The girl reached deep into her back pocket and handed the the barker a twenty peso bill. "Wala pong sasabit."
The barker took the money and walked over to the driver.
After a few minutes, the girl shouted. "OI, LARGA NA!" (OI! GET A MOVE ON!)
As the jeepney began to move, the girl hung on to the metal bars and grills by the doorway of the jeep. Rika felt deeply embarrassed. "Sorry po talaga" (I'm really sorry)
"Chill ka lang, Rika... di ko alam na nananagalog ka na pala" (Just chill, Rika... I didn't know you spoke Tagalog now) The girl answered as she looked up with a huge grin on her face. "Musta ka, mustasa? Natatandaan mo pa ako?" (How are you, mustard? *lame tagalog pun* Remember me?)
Hitomi stared down at the sink after washing the dish and utensils she used.
She watched the water swirl down the drain with some soap lather. The steel sink was as shiny as when it was bought. No watermarks, no soapscum, no algae growing.
Ayaka and Mai had been thorough with everything in the house until Rika. And it appeared that Rika was as thorough as they.
It was Ayaka who insisted that they don't get household help. They don't need other people to know where they live. Outsiders in private spaces can cause all sorts of trouble. Same with private people in... ... open spaces.
