Maki's back! She's signed under the sub-label of Avex, Rhythmzone, and has an official artist website under Avex as of June 19th, 2008! That officially makes her a J-Music Artist, so here I've started a thread for her as one! All worship at the shrine of Goto!!

If you have anything you want to share here about her, feel free (but try to be nice!). I'll add any links of new material she puts out here as I get ahold of them and if there's anything anyone would like me to contribute here, let me know and I'll edit!

I know Avex will be great for her to really make a mark and everything, but I'll be so pissed if they make her lie Koda Kumi, hopefully they realise one of 'her' is enough... Can't wait to hear Maki singing again

Heheh. I didn't actually even think about the post number. And I think it might have actually been #509 because I made one other post since that one. But since that's where you captured it, we'll pretend it was #510.

Now that she's with Avex, I think she'll be highly successful!

I just hope she gets some control over the material that she releases, I've heard about other artists being unhappy under the label (but coming from UFA and that idol world, she'll probably feel like she has a lot of freedom)

I was reading some comments about her switch to Avex at H!O and someone mentioned that she looks high-budget in the photoshoot and it occured to me that she's probably working with a much, much greater budget than when she was with H!P. It makes me wonder what that will mean for PVs (more than just a lot of dancing, but maybe a story, too?), but then I thought if it is anything like Koda Kumi's PVs, it won't be much different than it was for Maki with H!P. But I'm hoping! She's much more than just a hot dancing body.

I think that next to UFA's restrictions, any restrictions she has under Avex are going to seem minor... Also, part of the reason she left UFA was to have more control over her career. I can't imagine she would, after that, put herself right back into a position where she has little control.

i was thinking that too, i would like to see her in a PV with story or something interesting, not only a hot coreography

If you remember, she is pal with a few avex artists. They were even at her final appearance...

This is back room stuff, discussed between artists and carefully arranged....

This started a long time ago.

Under Upfront, she made very little money. The agency and management got more than 50% of the money
if not more... Just look at the tax returns for someone like Rika, it's practically pocket change compared to an
avex artist.

oh wow Avex actually picked up a former H!P member.

Maybe it's time Aya to try and make it outside of H!P.

Looks like they're going to be pushing the image she left H!P with though.
