Shimizu delivered a running jump kick to Komine, sending her into a chair and breaking it.

Ouch, captain. That really hurt.

"Alright. Whatever you say" Momoka replied taking off her arm bandages and wiping the blood off her nose.

"Don't worry Nakki. I'll be there with you and the Boss. If she tries anything, I'll do this" Hagiwara said as she kicked and punch. The last punch hit Okai, who was standing next to Hagiwara.

I lolled.

Chapter 13 - The Ace of Spades pt. 1

"Decorated soldier Cpt. Fujimoto Miki, a combat veteran of the Hokkaido War is now wanted by the local authorities. Police say that she and three other soldiers under her command ran an organized crime ring that resulted in the injuries of several people. Police believe she is still in the Aki area. If you know where she is, please call the Aki Police Department as soon as you can."

It was about 7pm and raining steadily as Platoons B and C approached the gate where Komine was waiting. She was wearing several bandages on her face and around her head.

"Hey you guys are finally here. Are you guys sure you wanna fight Miki-sama? Those wounds look pretty serious" she said pointing to Erika's bruises from the previous fight.

"Nah. don't worry about it. I'm good to fight" Umeda replied

"I checked her out. She's ready." Hagiwara announced

"Eh whatever you say. Follow me." Momoka replied as she walked through the gate. The group walked through the gate and entered Inuyama. They walked past the izakaya where Erika, Captain, and Komine had fought the night before.

"Why aren't we fighting in there?" Nakajima asked

"Because you guys broke everything. I'm still cleaning up in there" the injured bartender replied, grinding her teeth

"You're the one who hit me with a pole. So consider us breaking your izakaya payback" Shimizu said

"You win this one..." Komine mumbled

"So where are we going?" Umeda asked as the group passed a couple of thugs who looked like they should be in Tokyo instead of Aki

"Miki-sama has set up a special place for you to fight" Momoka replied as she looked up as if she didn't know if she was in the right place "It's just around this corner"

The group turned the corner and a large red temple greeted them.

"A temple?! They're gonna fight in a shrine?" Miyabi asked "I thought that we would fight in some tea house or something"

The group walked up the stairs and approached the door. Komine stopped and pulled two bamboo swords.

"Before we go any further, I have to give you these" she said

"You've got to be kidding me!!" Nakajima exclaimed "Bamboo swords?"

"Hey you take what you can get Corporal" Umeda replied as she took her sword

"Ok let's do this!" Momoka yelled as she opened the door. The inside of the temple was clearly neglected and the roof had a giant hole in it.

"This place smells like an old library" Chisato mumbled holding her noise

"How long has it been since this place's seen a good cleaning?" Tokunaga said

"Miki-sama, they're here!!" Komine yelled. Fujimoto stepped out of the shadows and walked to the middle of the temple. She then pulled out her sword--rather swords. She had two wakizashi with green tips.

"You guys are probably wondering why the tips are green. I wanted to make this fight more interesting so I dipped my swords in poison that Momoka made for me." Miki explained

"I made really good grades in chemistry" Komine whispered to the rest of the group

"Shut up!!" Natsuyaki snapped, smacking poor Momoka

"I gave you bamboo swords so you wouldn't be able to kill me." Miki continued with a smirk "But then again, even if you have a steel sword, you wouldn't be able to land a hit on me. Now let's finish this quickly because I need some beer"

After that, Miki sprung forward and jabbed one of her swords at Erika. The surprised Sgt. barely managed to dodge it by jumping to the side. As Erika lay on the dirt ground, preparing to get up she was almost hit as Fujimoto stabbed into the ground with the other sword, the sword barely missing her head.

"I think I saw my life flash before my eyes" she thought

"Crap! I missed. Let's try again." Fujimoto said

Miki pulled the sword out on the ground and was about to stab again until Nakajima blindsided her with a hit to the back of the head.

"Did you forget that you're fighting two people?" the Cpl. said before turning to Erika "You alright, Sarge?"

"I'm ok but she's freaking quick" Umeda replied as Nakajima helped her up "Let's tag team her"

"Now you're speaking my language" Saki said

"What? Japanese translated into English?" Umeda asked as Nakajima facepalmed.

The two soldiers ran toward Fujimoto, swords ready to strike. Miki was prepared for them and blocked both of them.

"Too slow!" she laughed and said "Here's how you fight"

She delivered a front kick to Nakajima's face and a slash to Umeda's arm. Saki flew backwards and Erika grabbed her arm in pain.

"If you wanna tag team me, then you gotta do better than that" the Ace leader said as she calmly wiped the blood off the wakizashi.

"Erika's cut. Shouldn't we do something?" Maimi asked Captain as the rest of the group watched the fight unfold

"Let me think...I got an idea. You have your officer's sword with you?" she replied "Those swords may be ultra dull but they may still be useful. But don't move until I give the signal"

"What do they have planned?" Okai whispered

"Dunno. Maybe they'll set the swords on fire and throw it at her?" Hagiwara replied

"That would be so cool" Suzuki said, smiling with glee

Back at the battle, Nakajima and Umeda were trying to avoid Miki's blades as she tried to cut them.

"Stand still so I can kill you!" she yelled as she swung her blade

Saki barely managed to hit Fujimoto in the face with her sword but not before the blade cut her belly.

The attack broke Fujimoto's nose and temporarily blinded her.

"AHH!! My eyes!!" she yelled as she stumbled around "You hit me in the eyes!!"

Umeda took advantage of the pause and smashed Fujimoto in the side, possibly breaking a rib. The Ace fell to the ground. When she hit the ground,  one of the wakizashi flew out of her hands.

"Good shot!" Nakajima said

"You alright, Nakki?" Umeda asked "That cut looks like it hurts"

"Don't worry about it, Sarge. It's not that deep" the Cpl answered

"So Fujimoto what are you going to do now?" Erika said, arms crossed "You just lost a sword and you're fighting two people"

Fujimoto stood up, nose bloody, and threw away the second wakizashi.

"I don't need a sword to kill you. I'll just pound your faces in" she mumbled, low but still audible

Miki charged forward and delivered two punches to Nakajima's face and gut. The girl fell to her knees, dropped the bamboo sword, coughed up some blood, and passed out.

"Knocked out so soon? After two punches? I was just getting started..." Miki said confidently

"It won't be long before we win" Momoka smiled and said

"What did she do to Nakajima?!" Natsuyaki exclamed as Okai and Hagiwara rushed to Saki's aid

"That punch to the gut must of sent her into shock" Hagiwara said "and that hit to the face busted her nose too. Get me a ice pack and some bandages"

"Let's go!" Shimizu yelled

Shimizu and Yajima ran to join Umeda as she stared Fujimoto down.

"Looks like you need a little help" Maimi said, holding her officer's sword

"Can we be of assistance?" Captain asked, pulling her sword out

"Be my guests, guys. Fujimoto, you're going to pay" Umeda declared, holding her arm

"So a lowly Sergeant, her stupid Lieutenant, and a midget Captain are going to fight me, Fujimoto Miki, a national hero, with a bamboo sword and two of those kitchen knifes you people call 'officer's swords'?" the leader said with a smile "This is going to be fun"

Nakki's KOed? 3 on 1 fighting? So many twists...

Anyway I should explain the officer's swords. In this version of the Japanese Army, all officers have swords for ceremonies. They're ordered to have the swords with them at all times. These swords are really dull, though. So officers can't use them in combat.

3 on 1. I think Miki's pretty used to things like that. And I'm not talking about fighting.

Chapter 14 - The Ace of Spades pt. 2

"Prepare to die, ladies!"

Fujimoto charged forward toward Shimizu, Umeda, and Yajima. Captain looked over at Maimi and they both silently agreed on a plan.

As Miki zeroed in on Erika, intending to deliver a two handed punch to the chest, the two officers lifted their swords and swung down. They hit Miki's fists with a crack.

"Aaahh!!" Miki yelled as she examined her hands. They were now red and swollen.

"Now your hands are broken...your lucky these swords aren't sharper" Captain said with a faint smile "If they were, you would be missing fingers right now."

"Don't get cocky, you punk!" Miki snapped "You think I got to be a national hero because I gave up even when my hands were broken? I can still beat you senseless"

Miki quickly punched Captain in the face, sending her flying back. The Captain struggled to her feet.

"Are you human? Humans can't punch that hard, especially in your condition." Maimi said, keeping her sword trained on Miki

"Apparently, you've never met m--" Miki said before noticing that Erika had slipped away "Where did your buddy go?"

"Right here!" Miki heard before feeling a sharp pain in her back. She quickly turned around to find Erika standing in front of her with a smile "Just so you know, you shouldn't leave your back open"

"Why, you sneaky little--" Miki yelled as she swung blindly at her foe "I'm gonna kill you and use your head as a trophy, you little rat"

Erika backed up to avoid the hits but stumbled and was hit in the face by a one two punch. She fell backwards but quickly recovered and countered with an uppercut.

"Nice counterattack" Miki said, spitting out some teeth "But this ain't over yet"

Miki delivered an crescent kick that knocked Erika back down. She smashed down on the ground and was knocked out.

"Umeda!" yelled Captain as she ran toward Fujimoto. She attempted a kick but Miki grabbed it, twisted it, and slammed the girl down. Captain started to get up and fell back down.

"So where's your plan now?" said the Ace leader as she turned to Yajima who then attacked and smashed her sword into Miki's side. Miki only smiled and said "Not good enough, kid"

Miki grabbed the sword and pushed it into Maimi's gut. She fell over, holding her stomach.

"1, 2, 3, 4. That's all of you. Seems like I win" Fujimoto cheered as she walked around the temple "You thought you could beat me but you came up a little short. Now come on Momoka let's go get some beer"

"Uh Miki-sama?" a pale faced Komine said

"What? What's wrong?" Miki replied, puzzled at her friend's expression

"Behind you" the bartender answered

Everyone watched as Nakajima awoke, got up, wiped blood from her mouth and staggered over to the wakizashi that Miki had left behind. She picked them up and said coldly to Fujimoto:

"It's time to end this Ace crap!"

"You don't look in any condition to be fighting me, kid. Go clean yourself first then talk to me" Miki confidently said before she saw Nakajima speeding towards her. She grabbed one sword with both hands, stopping it.

"Ha, just because you're faster doesn't mean you're better" the Ace bragged "Now give up"

"Don't you remember, 'Miki-sama'? You had two swords" Saki smiled and said

Saki then slashed Miki in the back with the other sword. Blood quickly gushed out of the wound.

"Miki-sama!!" Momoka screamed

"Ahhh! That stings! I can't believe you would do that. When I get you, I'm gonna burn you alive!" Fujimoto yelled as she grabbed her back and fell to her knees

"Good work, Corporal" Umeda said as she got back on her feet and dusted herself off. Shimizu and Yajima got back up too. They all gathered around Fujimoto.

"So, girls. I think it's time for some good old fashioned payback" Captain said, arms crossed with a smile

"This is for cutting my arm" Erika said as she punched Miki in the face

"This is for knocking out my buddy, Erika" Maimi said doing the same

And one by one the four girls took turns punching Miki until Erika noticed Ishimura limping over.

"Can I...have the finishing blow?" she asked

"You sure can, Maiha. Go ahead." Maimi replied "You deserve it after all the stuff you've been through"

The injured girl appoached Miki. The Ace, bruised and bleeding, looked at her and smiled.

"So you're that stupid Private that the 30 beat up...Mano's men did a good job but if I had captured you...you wouldn't be walking like that" she said, laughing

"Shut up!!" Ishimura yelled and delivered a straight punch to Miki's mouth. The Ace leader fell back and passed out.

"Nice hit" Shimizu said, patting the girl on the back "Hey Natsuyaki, Kumai, Sugaya, go get the find the police. Tell we've beaten Cpt. Fujimoto Miki and take Komine with you"

"Yes maam. Come on guys" Miyabi replied, motioning the two girls to follow her "Komine, you're coming with me"

"No don't leave me with them!! No!" Momoka yelled as the three girls dragged her away "Miki-sama! Wake up!"

"So is she dead?" Momoko asked as the rest of the group gathered around Fujimoto's crumpled body "You guys did cut her"

"Nah, she's still breathing" Hagiwara answered "By the way, how that's cut, Boss?"

"It's still bleeding. But wait a sec. Didn't she say those blades were poisoned? Does this look poisoned?" Erika replied

"No it looks ok. Use this to cover it up" Nakajima said, taking off her headband and giving to Erika. When she took it off, it revealed a large scar on her forehead.

"Thanks" Erika said wrapping the headband around her wound

"How'd you get that, Nakki?" Suzuki asked pointing to the scar

"I'll tell you on the way home, Airi" Saki replied

Some time later, the police arrived and arrested Fujimoto, who was still unconscious. She was put into an ambulance and taken away. Mjr. Matsuura walked over to the group.

"Thanks to you guys, we can put Fujimoto away for a long, long time. You can head on home if you want." she said "Make sure you go to the medical ward too."

"Don't worry, we'll do it" Yajima replied "Come on guys back to Camp Aki."

"So do you think Miki has any people left to attack us?" Umeda asked

"Nah, without Fujimoto to command them, any people that are still working with her will most likely fail" Shimizu replied

"So everything work out for us, we saved Maiha-chan, Okai-san doesn't have to pay money anymore, we saved countless people, and we caught a criminal. Have you enjoyed your first summer here, Erika?" Momo asked

"Yep, this was the best summer ever" Umeda answered

"So Nakki tell us about the scar..." Hagiwara said

Miki's defeated and so are the Aces. That means this part of the story is over.

Chapter 15 - Scars

The outskirts of Sapporo, Hokkaido - A few years ago

A transport truck arrived at the Army command post and a lone soldier stepped out. She grabbed her equipment and scanned her surroundings. Around her, soldiers chatted and practiced their aim over at the shooting range. She wandered around, looking for someone to tell her what to do.

"Hey, new girl! You look lost. Do you have your papers with you?" another soldier standing by the shooting range called out.

"Yeah sure" the girl replied handing her assignment papers over to the older soldier.

"Oh, you're my new replacement! Finally! I've been hounding HQ forever about that. Anyway, I'm Sgt. Murakami. Murakami Megumi, to be exact" the soldier said as she scanned the papers "What's your name?"

"Pvt. Nakajima Saki, maam" the young girl said, saluting

"Calm down with the saluting and formal stuff, kid. You're not at basic training anymore" Murakami groaned, giving the papers back to Nakajima "Follow me. You and me are going on a mission and you need to know all the details"

"Ok" Nakajima answered, quickly putting away the papers and following the Sgt.

"Alright, kid, today we're heading into southern Sapporo. The full scale invasion doesn't start until tomorrow but HQ wants us to take out some enemy positions so we'll have less trouble taking the city. We'll be dropped off on the edge of friendly territory. Our first target should be about 10 minutes away. We leave in a hour so be ready, you understand?" Megumi explained as the two soldiers walked over to boxes filled to the top with ammo.

"I...I guess so" a confused Nakajima replied

"Good now go practice your aim. sport. I gotta go handle some business" Murakami said before walking over to a group of soldiers

"She's a bit confusing, huh?" a voice from behind Nakajima asked. The Private quickly turned around to find a soldier carrying a notebook. The soldier was reading the notebook and trying to talk at the same time.

"Yeah, my head's spinning" she answered

"Yep, Megu's just a little on edge because she has only one mission to go before she gets to go on vacation. I'm Sgt. Kago Ai, by the way." the soldier bowed and said "Anyway, let's get you on the shooting range, pup"

The two walked over to the shooting range, which, in reality was a bunch of helmets on sticks in front of a destroyed building.

"Alright pup, if you can hit 3 helmets in a row, I'll give you 1000 yen" Kago explained handing Nakajima a rifle

The Private aimed the rifle at a helmet. She pulled the trigger and stumbled back from the recoil of the rifle.

"Oh you hit one! Good job, newbie" Kago yelled, almost shocked

Nakajima continued to shoot at the helmets and hit two more. She almost practiced throwing grenades at the destroyed building. On her second try, she threw one right through the window.

"Wow! I guess I owe you money then for those helmets, pup." Kago said before pointing over at a nearby truck "Your truck looks like it's almost ready. Doesn't time fly when you're shooting at helmets? You better go meet up with Megu"

Saki grabbed some ammo and grenades and joined up with Murakami.

"You ready to head out, kid?" she asked "Let's go!"

The two hopped up into the back of the truck and left the command post. Nakajima peeked outside as they entered the city. There were no people, destroyed buildings and the smell of smoke everywhere they went. Soon they stopped in front of a destroyed shrine.

"This is our stop, kid. From here on out, it's all enemy territory. You ready for your first taste of combat?" Megumi asked, climbing out of the truck.

"Sure, I guess" Nakajima answered as Megu helped her out of the truck

The soldiers marched cautiously further into the city. As they reached a street crossing, Murakami noticed something and pulled Nakajima over to a nearby wall.

"What happened? What's wrong?" Saki asked frantically

"Shut up!" Murakami whispered, putting a hand over the Private's mouth and putting a finger over her own mouth. She peeked out around the corner "I see enemies camped out. Maybe we can ambush them."

The two soldiers jumped out from around the corner and fired at the terrorists, who didn't even have time to grab their weapons before they were cut down.

"Let's check for supplies over there and get outta here. Anyone nearby would've heard those shots" Megumi commanded as she picked up some grenades from the fallen enemies. Saki stood still, shocked at what she just seen.

"What's the matter, kid? Never seen shooting before?" Megu asked, patting the younger girl on the back

"No it's just...I thought that they would...you know...fight back" Nakajima replied

"You know the point of an ambush is...to get them before they get you, right?" Megu said dryly, handing Nakajima some grenades "Make sure you use these wisely"

The two continued walking through the city until they reached the top of a hill. At the bottom of the hill was a medium sized park. In the park, dozens of terrorist were camped out.

"Are we gonna attack all of those guys?" Nakajima asked, making sure to keep her voice at a whisper.

"We aren't but I know who is" Murakami answered, pulling out a portable radio "HQ, requesting airstrike on Location B-30"

"Confirmed. Striking the target now" the voice on the other side of the radio said

5 minutes later, helicopters flew by and attacked the park with several missiles. The surviving terrorists scrambled and scattered into the surrounding area.

"Let's go secure the area" Megumi commanded, already running toward the park as Saki quickly followed

The soldiers entered the park where Murakami suggested they split up to "clear up any resistance"

"Alright you head east" she explained "I'll head west and we'll meet back here later. Got it? Move out, kid"

As Nakajima moved further into the park, she noticed a bathroom.

"Awesome! A bathroom. I really gotta go!" Saki thought, walking over to the building.

She opened the door and walked in. As she searched for the lightswitch, she was blindsided by a terrorist wearing sunglasses and a black camoflague suit and carrying a knife and dropped her rifle. They both fell to the ground. She grabbed the terrorist's arm, trying to stop the weapon. The terrorist used all of his strength to slice Saki's forehead.

"Hehe, I'll kill you now, you stupid government dog" the terrorist said with a smile

After that strike, the enemy prepared to attack again but Saki managed to push the terrorist off of her. The suprised enemy stumbled back and landed on his back. Nakajima picked up the rifle and took care of the terrorist before he could react.

Saki then exited the bathroom. She felt blood coming from her forehead.

"Ah! I'm bleeding. I gotta find a medic. Gotta get back to camp." she thought as she wandered through the park.

Near a playground, she noticed a abandoned pickup truck. She jumped in and tried to hot wire it.

"Ok if the video games are right, then that means I have to do this...and put that here" she said to herself as she connected some wires. Soon, she heard the "Vroom!" of the motor.

"Now that the hard part's over, let's find the Sgt. and get outta here" Saki thought, putting the truck into gear and driving through the park. A few minutes later, she noticed Murakami walking over a damaged bridge.

"Hey kid. Seems like you had a bit of a fight." Megumi grinned, strapping her rifle to her shoulder. "Can I have a ride?"

"Be my guest" Nakajima replied, opening the passenger door. But before the Sgt. could get in...

"They're trying to run."

"The cowards!"

"Kill them both!"

Several terrorists jumped out and shot at the truck. Megumi fired back at the enemies and Nakajima fired out the window.

"Nakajima, get outta here. I'll take 'em out. Get to safety"

"But but--" Saki began, suprised at what her commander just said

"That's a direct order, Pvt!!" Murakami interrupted "Get. Out. Of. Here. Now."

Saki reluctantly drove away, leaving her boss to battle the terrorists alone. Soon, she arrived back at the command post and had her wound fixed. As she sat by the medical tent, Kago approached her.

"I guess Megu didn't make it, huh?" she sadly asked, taking a seat next to the depressed Pvt.

"She told me to leave her there...even after I insisted she come along..." Saki recounted

"Don't worry, pup. If I know Megu, and I'm sure I do, she won't go down easily" Kago said, consoling the young girl

"So what happened to Murakami, Nakki?" Umeda asked

"She was declared MIA. Even though the Army launched a search of that park and the surrounding area, they didn't find her." Nakajima replied "I still feel a bit guilty that I left her there"

"It was a direct order, Cpl. There was nothing you could do" Captain reminded her

"I know..." She said "But because I was injured, I was awarded the Wound medal. And that's how I got this scar."

Platoon B and C were walking back to camp after fighting Fujimoto. They had been treated for their injuries and Mjr Matsuura said that they would be rewarded for capturing a wanted criminal.

"So what do you think we'll get for beating Fujimoto?" Arihara asked, trying to change the subject

"Maybe money!" Hagiwara suggested

"No maybe food!!" Momo said

"Why would we get food? Our real reward should be the feeling of doing a good deed!" Yajima said in a motherly way. Her idea was met by a unanimous "Shut up!" from her fellow soldiers.

They soon reach the camp and a few days later, they were given 100 thousand yen each for their service...and Umeda had to buy everyone dinner...again.

Talking about megumi is really sad, good thing you write that she is MIA so there is a hope? Just don't want to imagine they'll fight her in the near future because of some unfortunate events 

How can a soldier go using a deserted toilet while in a mission?! Lolol. That is just ridiculous. Soldier do it the barbarian way, if you catch my drift

Wound medal?! pffftttmuahahahaha. I guess they give "Cowardice of The Army" medal too.

I think this fill up like half of my stomach Pretty good duh.

zig - I was actually trying to fit Megu somewhere in the story guess that chapter was the best choice after all . Anyway I plan for Megu to be mentioned sometime in the future.

Chapter 16 - A New Assignment

"Man it's cold out here today...make sure you bring your jacket, Mai-chan" Chisa advised as she exited the barracks

"What are you, my mother?! Of course I got my jacket, you boyish freak" the younger girl replied angrily just before receiving a smack to the face

"Hey girls, it's too cold for fighting!" Erika calmly said to the fighting couple

It was the middle of November and the winter winds were sweeping in from the north. The base had finally started to calm down from Cpt. Fujimoto's arrest and Platoon B and C's wounds had healed.

"Another day without those stupid Aces means another party!" Tokunaga said as she and Platoon B joined up with C.

"I second that, Chii-chan!!" Momo said

The group was almost at the door when Maimi noticed someone approaching them.

"What are you doing here?" she asked with anger in her voice "I thought you were gone forever"

"I'm not scared of you anymore" Okai announced as the person came closer

"Calm down, Okai" the person said "It's just me, Tanaka. No Aces or anything. Plus I don't want your money anymore."

"What are you doing here?" Yajima repeated, still with a sense of hostility

"Well when I was allowed back on base, I decided to find you guys and let you know what happened to me and the others" Tanaka explained

"Ok what happened to everyone?" Arihara asked, focusing all of her attention on the storyteller

"I was court-martialed and demoted to Pvt because of you guys. Don't worry though. I ain't mad at you. I like being a Private. A lot less work." the former Ace said

"What happened to the other Aces?" Captain asked

"Well Michishige got 10 years in jail. She would've got 3 but she and the judge didn't get along. She always has to be the cute one...Kamei got 15 years in jail and hard labor. They sent her up north to Hokkaido to work on rebuilding projects, I think." Tanaka continued

"And Fujimoto?" Hagiwara asked

"Ah, Miki-sama, she got the worst punishment of all. 60 years in jail without any chance of parole. If she's still alive by then, she'll be a old lady." Reina answered

"She deserves all 60" Natsuyaki declared as everyone else nodded in agreement

"What...about that stupid Mano?"  Ishimura, who still needed help walking, asked

"I read that they initially planned 50 years in jail for her but instead she got 40 years. Lucky break even though her police record will be ruined forever" Tanaka explained

Tanaka was talking to the group until they heard a loudspeaker.

"Will Platoons B and C report to the commander's office please" the voice over the loudspeaker announced

"Ahhh man I wanted to go eat pizza" Okai groaned

"Don't worry, Chisa. We'll eat another day..." Maimai replied hopefully

The group headed to the office. Inside, Col. Nacchi was waiting for them.

"Ah good you guys are here. Me and Gen. Nakazawa need to talk to you." she said

They entered Gen. Nakazawa Yuko's, the base commanders, office.

"Sit down girls. I have an assignment for you" the general commanded

"What is it, maam? Does Mjr. Yaguchi want us to clean out her office again?" Erika joked

"I wish it was that simple, Sergeant, but this is a matter of life and death" Nakazawa replied pulling out a map of the area "This is Camp Aki here. West of here, at the bottom of the mountain is a huge forest that we codenamed "Aoki Forest". Earlier today, a helicopter transporting Chinese troops headed for Camp Aki for training exercises disappeared somewhere over the forest. We need you guys to find them. If they aren't saved, it could turn into a international incident"

"We've prepared a kit for you girls. In it is water, medical supplies, and a map" Nacchi piped up pointing to a box full of backpacks

"Why were we picked for this mission anyway?" Natsuyaki asked

"Me and Nacchi talked about how you girls handle the Aces situation. We also debated on sending Ishimura but we decided that she was healthy enough to fight" Gen Nakazawa answered

"So when do we leave anyway?" Yajima questioned

"It would be best if you leave immediately. The faster you find those Chinese troops, the better. Dismissed" the Col. replied with a salute

The group exited the office and walked towards the camp exit.

"How do you think this mission will go? You think we'll get lost in the forest?" Momo asked uncertainly

"Don't worry Momo-chan" Suzuki reassured her, putting a hand on the girl's shoulder "We'll go in there, find them, bring them home, and eat a big meal"

"I hope you're right..." Momo mumbled

They walked over to the hill overlooking the forest. In front of them was a giant sea of green

"Somewhere out there...are troops waiting for us. Let's not keep them waiting, team!" Captain said before starting down the hill.

Well I guess we have officially started the second story arc. I plan for it to have some drama but I will still put some comedy and action in there too. Time for some facts about the first story arc:
-The Lucky 30 was based on the Komoris from the game Red Steel
-Originally I planned to introduce Platoon B earlier in the story and they were supposed to be Platoon C's rivals
-Kamei's outfit was inspired by Sakura Mankai
-I almost placed the story in a warzone
-Chisa was supposed to be a snooty rich kid but she's just a easily-angered, rich kid

Hehe the Aces got what they deserved. LOL at the reason why Sayu's term got longer. Manoeri's 'Lucky' aura made her term shorter?

Chapter 17 - The Forest

"It's so dark in here. Hold me new Sarge!" Suzuki cried grabbing on to Umeda's arm

"We've only been in this forest for 20 minutes. There's nothing to worry about, Airi" Erika replied trying to pull her arm away

"Hey I wonder what we'll find in here" Yajima said pushing branches out of the way

"I hope we find some otaku's hentai stash in here..." Arihara mumbled to Natsuyaki

"And then we can sell the issues we don't like and keep the profits" Miyabi chuckled

"Ok everyone, keep an eye out for any sign of those troops." Shimizu commanded "They could be anywhere around here"

The group crept through the overgrown forest, pushing branches away and stepping over long dead trees. They barely said a thing the whole time. Before long Chisato noticed something up ahead.

"Hey I see someone over there by that river." she said

They approached the person, who looked like a fisherman.

"Soldiers! Here? What are you doing in these parts?" he asked putting more bait on his fishing hook

"We're looking for some missing Chinese troops. You have seen them, have you?" Erika asked

"Chinese troops, eh? Yeah...sure. Follow me" the fisherman answered picking up his equipment and walking away as everyone followed him

They walked through the forest until the overgrown brush turned into a dirt trail.

"A dirt trail! People actually go through this place?!" Erika thought upon noticing the trail. The group eventually reached a village with buildings made from scrap metal.

"So this is where the troops are. Compared to this place, Camp Aki is like the Imperial Palace." Okai mumbled

"Ok where are the Chinese soldiers at?" Maimi asked the fisherman

"In here." he answered opening the door to a dark red metal shack. The girls walked in expecting to see friendly soldiers but instead they were greeted by an empty room.

"Where's the soldiers?" Momo questioned looking around the room

"The door!" Captain shouted, as the door suddenly slammed shut

"Heh heh I can't believe it, Matsuoka! We actually captured goverment troops. The Commander will be proud." they heard a voice outside the building say

"Hey let us outta here!!" Hagiwara yelled, banging on the door "Let us out now!!"

"You're not coming out of there until the government gives into our demands!" another voice replied

"What demands? Who are you?" Shimizu questioned, leaning on the locked door

"We are the Wolves of Hokkaido!" the fisherman announced

"You can't be. We beat you in the war." Nakajima pointed out

"You think you did. But some of us managed to escape you and live in secret. We were originally going to go to Aki and kidnap troops but since you walked into our laps, we don't have to do that. Now that we've captured you, we can hold you guys for ransom and force the goverment to fund us" the other guy said

"You better let us out of here right now, you hear me?!" Natsuyaki yelled, banging on the door. Her demands were met with silence. The two people outside had left.

"We're trapped. What are we going to do?" Airi whimpered

The group stayed in the room, occasionally attacking the door. After a while, the door started to give way and the soldiers gave one final push. The door fell over and they exited the building.

"We're finally outta there" Okai said, taking a breath of fresh air

"We must've been in there for a while, though. It looks late." Hagiwara replied

"Hey those troops have escaped! Let's get 'em!" they heard someone yell. Soon they were surrounded by several thugs or "yakuza wannabes" (as Miyabi put it).

"You're surrounded, government swine." the fisherman said, stepping out of the crowd "You won't get out of here alive"

"Wait I got an idea" Maimi suddenly said, signalling the thugs to stop "How about we have a fight. 3 of your strongest vs 3 of our strongest. If we win, we move on. If you win, you can hold us here until those demands are met"

"Hmmmm what do you think, Commander Konno?"

A woman wearing a white robe stepped forward.

"I accept your idea. Okamoto, Kitano, and Matsuoka will fight you" she replied "Who will you choose?"

Natsuyaki, Arihara, and Umeda stepped forward.

"You three? Alright then, Okamoto first." the commander said as the fisherman stepped forward.

"I'll beat him. Just count the minutes before he's on the ground bleeding." Natsuyaki chuckled, walking towards her opponent

"All ready? Fight!!"

Now Miyabi has to fight that fisherman who brought them here in the first place. Will she win? What moves will the fisherman use?

Chapter 18 - The Fisherman's Catch

"You're gonna die for putting us in this trap" Miyabi said, staring down the fisherman

"You wish, kid. I've been fighting people since you were a baby sleeping in a dirty diaper" the fisherman snickered

Immediately after that, Okamoto suckerpunched Miyabi in the right eye. The Corporal flew back and landed on her back. She rubbed her eye before slowily rising back up.

"No one...sucker punches Natsuyaki Miyabi!!" she yelled "Now you're dead!"

Natsuyaki immediately launched a barrage of punches at the fisherman. He blocked them at first but they soon overwhelmed him and he was hit in the mouth and nose. Then Miyabi stepped back to finish her attack with a kick. The Fisherman was hit in the belly and fell to his knees.

"You're pretty good, girly. But can you beat this?" Okamoto said before pulling Miyabi's leg out from under her and causing her to fall.

"Hey! That's cheating!!" Momo yelled from the crowd

"You're in our domain now, government scum. There's no rules here!" a Wolves member replied

Okamoto started to crawl onto Miyabi to pin her down but she quickly kicked him in the face and quickly got back up. The kick had broken Okamoto's nose and it was now slowly bleeding.

"Owwww..." he groaned as he rubbed his nose "You're going down, kid"

As Okamoto rose up, he delivered an uppercut to Miyabi's chin. The attack stunned her for a moment and Okamoto managed to punch her left cheek, then Miyabi countered with a straight punch. The blow suprised the fisherman and he fell to his knees once again.

"That's it! I'm done fighting fair" Okamoto mumbled "I tried to fight on your level but now it's time to fight dirty." Okamoto pulled out a switchblade, stood up, and charged forward. Miyabi barely dodged the first strike.

"Haha!! Not so easy now, huh? All you can do is run." he laughed as he faced Miyabi, shaking from the surprise attack

Then Okamoto, with a determined look on his face, charged at Miyabi again. This time, Natsuyaki grabbed his arm and twisted it.

"OW ow ow! Don't do that...it might..." Okamoto tried to say before he heard a loud "Crack!!" The knife fell out of his hand and his wrist became limp.

"Heh, without your knife, you're nothing but a stupid crook! Time for some payback!" Miyabi announced before running forward and kicking Okamoto in the face. The fisherman fell on his back and tried to get back up before passing out.

Two Wolves members ran forward, pushed Miyabi aside and checked on their fallen comrade. Fortunately he was just knocked out and not dead. After making sure he was alive, one of the Wolves stood up and announced:

"The winner of this round is, the government dog!!"

As the crowd cheered, Captain and Maimi were quietly making a plan

"Maybe we can find something to distract everyone from the fight. Then we can escape" Maimi explained

"OK there's gotta be a way out of here. Let's get searching." Captain said

The two slipped away and entered a nearby building. They looked for something that made a loud noise.

While the two officers were searching, Wolves members were pulling Okamoto out of the circle. Miyabi returned to pats on the back from her comrades.

"Congrats Miyabi!" Arihara said "That means I'm up next. Wish me luck"

"Matsuoka, you're next!" Commander Konno told a heavy-set man wearing a shirt with some random Engrish on it.

"Hai!" the man replied, stepping into the circle

"Ready? Start!"

So Miyabi has won and now Kanna's fighting. A little shorter than I thought but I've been pretty busy lately so...

Chapter 19 - Burn notice

"Come at me, you terrorist punk!" Kanna said

"You're going down, little girl!!" Mastuoka bellowed as he charged forward and tackled Arihara. He then began to choke her "Hehe this is gonna be really easy"

Kanna grabbed her opponent's hands, trying with all of her might to get out of this position.

"I...gotta do something...before he kills me" she thought

As she looked around, she noticed a rock next to her head, grabbed it, and smashed it against Matsuoka's head.

"Ahhh!" Mastuoka cried as he grabbed his head and got off of Kanna. He rubbed the wound and discovered he was bleeding. "You have just made a terrible mistake, kid"

Matsuoka landed a right hook to Kanna's face then a left hook. As he attempted another hook, Kanna managed to dodge it and Matsuoka lost his balance fell to the ground. By now his head wound was bleeding steadily and blood covered part of his face. Also his vision started to get blurry and he felt faint.

"Everything's going...dark...can't stop now" Matsuoka thought grabbing his head "One last push"

Matsuoka got back and charged Kanna. She wasn't prepared for the attack and Matsuoka landed a haymaker to her chin. The blow knocked Kanna to the ground and Matsuoka walked just a little further before collapsing.

The spectators gasped and cheered at the action before Konno made an announcement.

"Whoever gets back up and says 'I win' is the victor"

The crowd waited silently for someone to get up. After 2 long minutes, Kanna slowly started to rise and declared

"I...win...you terrorists"

Platoons B and C cheered as they ran to hug their comrade and medics came in to check on Matsuoka.

As the crowd cheered and booed, Yajima and Shimizu were looking through boxes that they had found.

"What exactly are we for, Yajima?" Captain asked

"Something distracting like a radio or something like...this!" Maimi said holding up a box of matches "We can burn our way outta here"

"Good thinking!"

Yajima split the matches with Captain then they both lit one. They spread some papers around and lit them. The fire quickly spread and soon the building was engulfed in flames. The two officers scrambled out of the building but not before stealing some rifles and Molotov cocktails from one of the boxes.

Konno noticed the fire as she checked on Matsuoka.

"Put out that fire!" she yelled as several Wolves ran in the direction of the fire. As the Wolves approached the burning building, Yajima and Shimizu cut them down with their rifles.

"They have our weapons!" Konno screamed "Kojima take your squad and wipe them out"

A short lanky man and 3 people ran toward the two officers.

"I'm out of ammo!" Yajima said

"Me too! We're dead" Shimizu replied

Just as the group approached, they were hit by gunfire that came from behind Yajima and Shimizu. The Wolves were dead before they hit the ground. As the two officers assessed the situation, they turned around to see who saved them.
