Well, Ok and everything....but WHERE WAS THE GRAD SPECIAL! :frustrated:

It might be a good thing that there's no grad special...I mean this might mean that Yossie is staying with the show!  *hopes this is the reason*

Here's a link to TV Tokyo's "merumaga", a sort of e-magazine. There's an article on Haromoni@ and Yossi's grad, and from what I can get, this is her last show. They ask her how she felt filming her last appearance on the show, and she says she enjoyed getting in touch with the people on the street, and that she's proud of being in the show for the past six years, and she says to the fans that from time to time she'll be back as guest. It also says that Tsuji will be included (guess this will change now). Maybe somebody can do a thorough translation.
http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/merumaga/070504/
And next week is backstage video from the grad concert, and probably a message from Yossi

Awww that was her last one as a regular?... T_T dang I'm sad again now... ya know when she was graduating I was hoping she'd still be able to be on haromoni@ consistantly at least until the other girls were joining in, then she'd slowly get phased out...but T_T.... Ya know, I'm a full supporter of haromoni@ and I like that htey are trying to new things...but along with the missing of game days and gekijou...I must say that yossie not being able to be around as much is one of the things that makes me miss hello morning... I mean I could sort of deal with not seeing viyuuden much (though I'm starting to miss rika but she wouldn't have been around with her stage show thing)...but.... awww....

*shakes head* I'm done in my sad mark... at least till we see yossie stuff from it... but I'm looking forward to them moving into more fun stuff... with multifaceted cutesy/demony/witch miki leading the way, perhaps wandering around will have fun consequence... *points off into the distance* towards great progression!

This episode was fairly boring. Especially when they called the old guy down to sing, c'mon, this is a kid's show right, who really cares about the old guy singing? And don't get the point of the cabbage dude, it's just a waste of precious seconds that could be better used elsewhere.

Looking forward to the Yossi graduation special.

I'm sorry, I may have missed something, but where is it stated that this is a kids show? And with your knowledge of japanese, would you care to enlighten us as to what the old guy part was about? Because if you did not understand it, then you should only say that YOU didn't care.

This is the first of the new Haromoni's that I thought didn't suck.  I'm not sure if it's improved or if I'm just getting used to the new format.  ;D

My Japanese isn't great, but I can generally understand what happens in HM. I thought it has been quite obvious that HM has always targeted towards a younger audience (the layout, the previous formats, the screen time for Tokyo, World Pucchi Games..etc.), the animal costumes suggests that the target audience probably hasn't change.

No, I don't understand the significance of the old guy singing, maybe you can tell me how that part could actually be interesting? - An old guy, walks down some stairs, went back up some stairs, and sang for a bit with a dodgy karaoke microphone thingie - I just don't don't see how it could be exciting.

HM at its best has been suited for people of all ages - kids, their parents, and people like me who are neither. Maybe the guy on the steps was someone the parents would get a kick out of seeing again though coming out of nowhere. Kinda like tom jones. :-)

Okay, lets put it this way, and see if you understand: THIS SHOW IS AIMED AT A JAPANESE AUDIENCE, AND FOR THEM MAYBE IT WAS SOMETHING INTERESTING.  Now that I hope I made clear the show is not aimed at you, are we okay?

By the way, the girls found it interesting, because they saw his picture everywhere around that alley, so they asked to meet him. And since under this format, on their way to fulfill their mission they examine everything that looks interesting TO THEM, they did.

Oh, sorry, forgot to ask, how old are you? I assume you're a kid, since you're watching what you call a kid's show and bitching about it not being kiddy enough

Mate, there's no need to get this emotional.  :)

Look, I'm not trying to bash HM@, but I just find this week's to be a tad boring, so I said so. Obviously, I'm not speaking on behalf on everyone single person that have watched this week's episode, it's my opinion and this is what this thread is for, right?  I really don't see why you're taking it so personally. And I really don't think what I typed up really qualifies as bitching, I've merely mentioned that this week's episode was really boring for me and pointed the part about the old man as the main culprit.

It's a short show, and due to its format, the people they visit/speak plays a much big role that before. For example, for me, the old man from last week that talks about how he got inspiration from the Cosmos to make that noodle was far more amusing than an old man singing. And also making cheese cake or the plastic food display thing was a lot more interesting than cooking the crackers in the end. I don't see why I can't comment that this episode was boring without you jumping on my back.

Let's be honest here, HM is not a mainstream info-entertainment program, its ratings are not huge and the audience likely to be a specialised sector rather than say, 'mainstream audience'. To enjoy the segments in the earlier formats like World Pucchi Game, the skits or Maido Eri...etc, the audience is most likely to be a HP fan or of the younger generation. And I might be wrong and I acknowledge it, but I presume that the audience watching this week's episode would be the bunch of people that have been following HM from before. And I fail to see how that old guy would have been entertaining to this age audience. And some background information about TV Tokyo, it's one of the smaller channels in the Tokyo Area and it's famous for showing a lot of anime (which may or may not suggest the audience that tunes into the network on sunday afternoons or the time slot before on sundays mornings).

I'm curious though, did you find the part about that old man entertaining?

Actually I found it amusing that they found him and he actually looked like the picture (and how bad that portable mic/speaker sounded but he still continued)

Hehe when I saw the guy walking down the stairs my first thought was "he looks shorter than in those posters"...lol, honestly he seemed to be a local celebrity that was all over the neighborhood and them meeting him seemed like a chance moment of luck. I think it works out for people who like seeing their hometown or a place they know on the tv... and I kinda understood his song...lol.

I keep getting this combination vibe like its like that old japanese travel show, trying to show off the neighborhoods while keeping you enticed with entertainment. A more open format then the stuff from Hello-Morning.

My friend keeps telling me how he recognizes so and so place from his trip to japan, so I'm guessing even some tourist people fan peoples like us can enjoy it if you've been to Japan...lol.

I guess the issue with the mini dispute up there was the interpretation of words right?... I say at this point its a agree to disagree and not to opinionate each other... ^_^ *waves around Morning Musume pictures* e-ver-y-body happy!...lol

If next week has concert stuff though... I can't wait!

Also how he "ups" his shoulders and have this "lol face" at the staffs = cute

And people make me laugh when they say they find H!M@ boring and blah blah blah but then a week after they watch the show, and do the same thing over and over again!

But the thing is, you generalized when you said "who cares?", when the one who didn't care was you. If you had said as others here "I don't care about the old guy, I want more action", well... And then you keep saying the show is for kids. You obviously have never seen another japanese TV show, judging by your conclusions on the target audience based on the segments of the old show and the use of costumes. And TV Tokyo, yes it is small for the japanese market, but what does its size or the fact that they broadcast mainly anime has to do with the target audience of H!M@? Unless you're of the kind that confuses Anime with cartoons, in which case I urge you to watch "Ghost in The Shell" and tell me if this is a kids anime.

And about the guy, yes, I found it amusing that the girls were like "hey, this guy is everywhere, who is he?" and then they find him and ask him to sing and the sound is so weird coming from that thing.

So now we're okay, you cleared your point, I cleared mine and hopefully got something to you: japanese ARE different, THINK different, and BEHAVE different than us. What could be a kids show here, is not there and vice versa.

A few threads back, when the second episode came out, there are a few thread that had a bit more bashing than my thread did. I never said anything close to "This stinks and I'll never watch it ever again..." or anything along those lines, I'm looking forward to the next episode and I've said so.  Obviously, I thought the point of thread is to rant about HM, for both the good or bad. If that's not allowed, then I'll make sure I don't air my views (when they are negative) publicly next time.

Reyfer, I really don't want to make this into a personal duel with you either. In regards to Anime, I've said 'it may or may not suggest the audience...", so it may or may not be useful. It's just a bit of background information to give a hint of why I made my point, the same as TBS and Fuji-TV is best known for its J-Dramas while NHK is best known for its Periodic dramas (and more serious documentaries). Anime broadcasting (along with economic news in the evening), is the genre that Tokyo TV specialise in. And they do broadcast more main-stream, pop and kid-oriented anime than other anime broadcasters do, eg. Naruto, Bleach, Keroro, D-gray man etc. To me, it's an obvious hint to the demographic that tunes into the channel at that time slot (and the previous time-slot), just the same way that it is thought that generally a more mature audience usually tunes into NHK and therefore programs will be generally made and oriented towards the older audience.

I did.  They kept seeing some old guy on some posters, they wondered who he was, then he appeared (I assume he lived nearby?), then he sang enka for them, I like enka.
