Sonim had a song called "Chiisana Yoru Tabi" (小さな夜旅) for the drama "Ichiban Kurai no wa Yoake Mae" (一番暗いのは夜明け前) that was sold only via downloads. Wasn't aware of it. Was kind of a pain buying it since all of the stores selling it don't take non-Japanese credit cards. Did eventually get Ongen to work using DigiCoin for payment (since they take foreign cards fine) + using a JP proxy for adding it into my cart (they only do a region check to make sure you're in Japan when you click add, so you can set a proxy, add it, then unset the proxy and pay+download it fine). Then used tunebite to convert the protected wma to lossless, unprotected wma, then that->flac to keep a lossless copy and made some 320cbr and -V0 vbr rips of it to mp3. Just posted it up here.

First of all I wanna give huge props to soveryshiny for going through all that trouble. You da man!

I've been playing Chiisana Yoru Tabi on repeat for over an hour and I just don't get tired of it. It's definitely one of the best Sonim songs and it's a shame that it was never released as a single. Sonim needs a new album!

Just wanted to say hello to everybody here... found my way over here thanks to trying again in my search to find a way to snag Chiisana yoru tabi. Any chance to talk to other Sonim fans, I'll take it. *heh*

For a quick bit of background, I was living in Japan when she started her solo career, and that's when I became a fan of hers. (A friend tried to get me into EE Jump before that point, but for some reason, I ignored him.) Ran an English-language fan page for her for a while, and am now trying to get it back up. (I originally started it after the guy who runs the French site pissed me off, as a way to help Sonim fans trade videos and whatnot.) I've also met her twice.

I'm a little behind on keeping up with her really recent stuff (looking through some of the torrents that have been on here, I'm obviously really behind *cries*), but I've got a lot of her older stuff, so if I can ever be of help in getting anybody anything, I'd be more than happy to do so. I taped a lot of stuff with her from Japanese TV while I was there, which I hope to get into video form at some point in the near future.

Do you mean that one French site that always used to spam her pictures and some site address ending in .fr on what seemed like every single H!P related Japanese うｐ board? Never actually visited the site but I was always annoyed by the sheer amount of spamming they did...

Easiest way to keep up on her stuff is just to read her blog. She mentions every TV, magazine, etc. appearance. Plus it's often just funny and entertaining on its own.

Sounds like him. Back in early 2003, he had a list of videos of Sonim's that he had, and one of them was her Self-Produced TV show. I had had no luck in finding it, so I contacted him, and asked if I could get a copy from him, or do a trade. After he decided that he couldn't wait for me to get the videos I had access to to him, he wanted me to pay him $20 to burn the video to a CD-R, in addition to the costs for the blank CD-R and shipping.

Totally pissed me off that a "fan" would do something like that to other fans.

I've kind of avoided her blog, because my reading level of Japanese still needs quite a bit of work, and I get frustrated over that very easily. *heh* I do need to keep more of an eye on it, though.

Ah, fun person. What's the name of the show? Wasn't aware she had done something like that. Haven't really seen her on many shows except for Ai no Apron.

Self-Produced TV. The idea behind the show is that they give a video camera to a certain person, and then they basically tape parts of their lives. The vidoe was a bit infamous because at one point, Sonim takes the camera in with her as she's in the bath. (You can't actually see anything, of course.) Runs about 13 minutes or so.

If anybody needs a copy of it, just ask.

I meant more what was the original name of the show in Japanese? Neither of those produce any relevant hits...

Does sound like that's the file though, and looks like it was posted on here almost a year ago, would be interesting to see it put up on the tracker.
