Shorty Long sings the orignal recording (1964) of "Devil with the Blue Dress" which he co-wrote with William Stevenson. The song was a big hit for Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels in 1966. Mitch has a great version, but Shorty is perfect on this version. Sadly, Shorty died in a boating accident in 1969 at age 29, a man who had demonstrated considerable talent, a future lost forever.
