Just got the album of Jpopsuki.

Some cheeky swine is selling the magazine version for £56 ($90) on E-bay!!!

He also has a CD/DVD version with an obi (!) for £36 ($58) and one with CD/DVD and wristband for £18 ($29.95).

Okay this is awkward....I was defending SCANDAL to someone saying they are a rock band who don't need to do cheesy photo shoots like AKB48 et al do, then they do this for Weekly Playboy:

I mean they look great but it kind of undermines my argument...

Japanese WPB is not that bad, they feature all kinds of personalities as long as they are hot/ pretty/ sexy. I didn't see AKB48 on WPB a couple years back when they were all teenage girls. For musical female groups, can you find another group whose members are all pretty and is popular? SCANDAL is on KERA monthly, on Cure doll before, so it's no big deal to be on WPB. They're not showing more skins than their usual standard.

I have to say, what's up with Rina and her hair? Sometimes, she looks great, other time just down right weird.

WPB also has lots of nudes and AV idols in their mag too.

My point is that AKB48 are in all of the gravure mags either in bikinis, lingerie or cosplay while SCANDAL are normally in music mags in their stage gear/latest promotional outfit. So I would say this was a bit of a departure for them to be in the same mag as nude AV idols wearing short shorts and loose tops (that first hideous PB aside).

Just my opinion.

With a name like SCANDAL I expect them to be provocative and edgy. With the last couple of releases they have lost a bit of their edge. The outfits went from various seifuku and rock styled costumes to more fashionable and traditional ones. Furthermore, the music has gotten softer and more polished too. I am really glad they did this spread for WPB, because it revives a bit of their original appeal (in the sense that they go beyond what's safe and expected from bands).

In addition, I don't see any problems with the photos themselves. They don't show that much skin at all and the poses aren't too shocking. Appearing in WPB may even be a good way to expand their fanbase. Readers of WPB may not read KERA and Cure etc., so they might decide to check Scandal out and dig their music.

"Switch" is no doubt my favorite in this album all because of Tomomi's part in it

Her voice is clear and warm in this song. I also find "Haruka" very enjoyable as I'm listening to it more often.

Now, only if my order from CDJapan arrives early enough to check out the photobook

Received my shipment from CDJapan today. They include this nice poster for my SCANDAL SHOW purchase

. As usual, they wrap all the CDs I ordered with bubble wrap, and the poster in thin paper. This kind of customer service makes me feel that my patronage is appreciated. Do you know how Staples ships an external hard drive to my house? The hard drive package slides freely inside the shipping box

I bought the Magazine Ed. If you're interested in this album, buy the Magazine Ed. It's worth it. Tons of high-quality photos. If you have Baby Action Mag, you can expect the same quality from this SS.

i've noticed that not many people have downloaded the first eight videos. does anyboby want me to upload the rest. the videos are good quality and i've modified them to full screen, well most of them. some are still widescreen. please let me know, because it takes a long time to upload each video, so i won't bother if nobody wants them.

You helped me make up my mind about wherther to buy this from CDJapan or not, when I read your comment and saw what the poster was like I was made up! The fact they pack your goods in bubble rap is great like you said good quality of customer service for your money. My Scandal album and poster arrived today, I'm very pleased with it, photobook looks beautiful its well worth it if you love the girls and their music! (as well as help SCANDAL sell another item! LOL). I ordered 4 or 5 times from CDJapan and have never had problem with them. I guess if there's even loss in transportation, I can't blame CDJapan either because I always chose SAL shipping. I think there are sources with cheaper shipping charge out there, but CDJapan's point system helps the shipping cost quite a bit. They also have goodies like stickers, tin caps... for "First Press".

IMHO, SCANDAL albums and singles are well worth the prices. I just don't like the DVD packaging. I only purchased one which is the VIDEO ACTION Blu-ray. There is only a disc inside the DVD-type case with 2-page sleeve, no extra artwork. I honestly think that that Blu-ray, as a physical product, is not worth my big money.
