OMG, the Armageddon tag title fight was awe-inspiring, and was totally unexpected. Hardyz vs. London & Kendrick vs. MNM vs. Taylor & Regal. Where do I begin in explaining how awesome this was?
- Mercury's injury was sick, just totally sick. That's gotta go onto the list as one of the most cringe-inducing gruesome accidents in wrestling history. There was a solid river of blood following his path as he left the ring, and there was a large pool of blood on the mats where he lay waiting for help. I'm at a loss for words.

- I loved Regal's reaction when Teddy Long announced that it would become a ladder match. That really added to the realism of the match. It therefore made sense that they were trying to push out the ladders during the beginning of the match. And when when Regal or Taylor got "afraid of heights" that also made a lot of sense. The experience of those guys is really strong - they turned what might be a weakness (their inexperience with ladder matches) into a strength. JBL and Cole's commentary also helped save the day here.
- Regal's half-nelson suplex onto the ladder was incredible. Frankly, Regal's suplexes are better than Angle's suplexes and nearly as good as Taz's ECW-era suplexes.
- London completely screwed up his Sliced Bread off the ladder onto Regal, and it still looked cool. Regal sold it like he had broken his neck - just perfect. Just look at the expression on his face, eyes open, head hanging of the ring edge, body totally limp. I was really afraid for London, given the way he landed, but he looked OK afterwards.
- The finish was a bit off - after all that punishment, mere punches ended it? But I let out a sigh of relief that the match was over. It was hard to really get into after Mercury's injury.
This match made all of those guys legit A-class superstars overnight. The Hardyz show that they still have what it takes to rock a ladder match. London & Kendrick show that they are possibly the new kings of the ladder match. This potentially sets up a London & Kendrick vs. Hardyz feud (please, pretty please!). Nitro solidifies his newly found main-eventer show-stealer status, and Mercury (after he heals from massive reconstructive surgery) deserves a standing ovation and a post-injury HHH/Hardcore Holly-like push. London & Taylor prove that they can do any type of match and make it look legit and credible.
Edit: I just had to watch that match again. More highlites:
- Matt lies on the ladder, which London bridges the ladder on the second rope. Kendrick then jumps off the top rope and double stomps Matt in the belly! Holy f'n $hit!
- Jeff on the ladder outside the ring, ready to give a Swanton onto Taylor who lay inside the ring. Until Nitro baseball slide kicks the ladder out from right under him, dropping him onto the ring ropes. It was done perfectly, but could have ended really badly.
- Jeff's sunset flip powerbomb to Nitro off the top of the ladder was sick. You could see Nitros head hit the mat the wrong way. Surprised he didn't knock himself out.
- Tazz and Cole were great together, but JBL and Cole are even better. JBL's "Best match I've seen in 15 years" commentary during the ladder match made a great match one for the ages. JBL is truly a commentary god.
Compared to this, the "MVP's butt is on fire" thing just seemed even dumber than it was...
Oh yeah, I watched the latest WWE PPV... What was it called again... Survivor Series??
Watch Armageddon, if need be, just the first hour. That ladder match was one for the ages!
