My post #51,000 is dedicated to Ayaka Umeda

This recent blog post by Umechan explains perfectly why I love her:

"I'm happy when:
I'm singing songs
I'm able to dance
I'm able to do LIVE performances, since I really love them
Seeing the people that have come to those LIVE performances
being cheered on
seeing the smiles on peoples faces because they are having fun
when opinions about myself has changed
feeling the sense of accomplishment when one is completely burned out
Seing DiVA in a CD shop
able to appear on a music program
appear in a magazine
People just know about me
and having a place within AKB

There are soo many things that make me happy
that I can't count them all

I probably have experienced them all

it's not only happiness
there's also a lot of
hard times
pathetic times
misery
sadness

but there's definitely also happiness

The ratio between those 2 might now be far apart
but if 99% is hardship
then 1% will be happiness
and I'll definitely do my best since there's that 1 percent

I would say that the difference between Umechan and my other top favorites is this:

When my other favorite members appear on TV-shows or magazines I'm happy to see them. But when I see Umechan I'm actually happy for her because her road to the top has been long and rocky. Many top girls probably take their spots for granted and they don't even know what it feels like to be "a theater girl". When Umechan returned after her leg injury she was at the bottom. One of those members who practically don't even exist outside the AKB48 theater. Umechan could have become one of those forgotten members who quietly graduate but fortunately she didn't give up. Hell no! Instead of quitting she started working harder than ever and AKI-P finally gave her a big push. It's pretty safe to say that Umechan has proven that she's worth it. Just a couple of years ago only the hardcore fans knew her but nowadays I see new people praising her almost daily.

Umechan is a great role model for all non-Senbatsu girls and her recent success proves that you can make it to the top if you work hard and stay positive even through hard times. Never give up! Umechan's success really makes me happy because I know she truly appreciates it. I hope Umechan doesn't graduate anytime soon and even if she does, I will keep supporting her. She deserves it
