Boom Boom Satellites (ブンブンサテライツ, Bun Bun Sateraitsu?) are a Japanese electronic music duo consisting of guitarist and vocalist Michiyuki Kawashima and bassist and programmer Masayuki Nakano. While their music can be mostly classified as big beat or nu skool breaks with heavy jazz influences, they are famous for the heavy usage of electric guitars in their music, and the final product often has a strong rock or punk flavor. They are currently signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan, with whom they have released all of their albums in Japan.

Lena is so hot! One of my favorite fashion models. Didn't know she was venturing into music.

i-dep is an electronic/jam music entity. They play with different sounds like jazz, bossa nova and lounge music, then mix analog and digital elements to make sweet dance music. Aww yeahh.

AMWE

She just released her first mini album, which I think is DAYUM GOOD. Great new addition to Japan's wave/electro scene. :)

Quote
Well, yes, if you based your opinion on a quick look at a couple of pictures on her MySpace, you’d dismiss her as a Japanese school girl with short blond hair and a pair of grotesquely enormous sneakers. Not that there’s anything wrong with that: she looks very cute. But AMWE is much more than a pretty girl placed behind a microphone who sings along to whatever her producer does. No, she is a whole other story.

AMWE writes, plays and produces all her songs, and she’s really good at doing all three. If you’d need to place her exactly, you could do worse than placing her on the precise border between new rave and new romantic. She seems to take production, flair and aesthetics from the first, and a taste for sweet, harmonic vocal lines from the second.

The offspring of this unholy alliance is a fantastically kick-ass bunch of romantic songs that have all the capacity to blow up a dancefloor. Songs like Friction Between The Lovers (i.e. Depeche Mode meets the Cardigans) show AMWE’s refined taste for disco flavour and heavy beats.

AMWE is from Nagoya, in Japan, but she’s already caught the interest of the French label Kitsuné that involved her in the forthcoming Hearts Japan EP with a remix of Heartsrevolution’s Dance Till Dawn. And so far, the girl shows promise: the remix is actually as catchy and powerful as the original, and maybe surpasses it. All this to say that AMWE herself is ready to release her first full-length album on October, and we’re certainly waiting for it.

Pizzicato Five (often known simply by the initials P5)[1] is a Japanese pop group best known to audiences in the West in their later incarnation as a duo of Maki Nomiya and Yasuharu Konishi. The group, widely credited (along with Flipper's Guitar) with spearheading the shibuya-kei movement of Tokyo in the 1990s, is known for eclectic and energetic compositions that often sound like "new" releases from the late 1960s hipster scene. The catchphrase "A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular" captured the group's ironic stance and eager attitude. The group broke up in March 2001.

Pizzicato Five was a hugely prolific group during its 16-year-long existence, usually releasing at least an album each year in addition to various EPs and remix albums.

Thanks! I love nu-jazz! I've heard a couple of Sleep Walker songs before but never any full albums. By the way, if you like Sleep Walker then you should check out Kyoto Jazz Massive:

Thanks for the info,Masa. I also like Kyoto Jazz Massive.

Nobukazu Takemura played Nu-jazz around 15 years before. Now he plays electronica/noise or something. I like both of his music.

BALLER!!!!

80kidz emerged from the borderless youth culture of Japan.
However, their music makes it seem that it may not even matter that they are actually from Japan. They’ve already performed with the likes of Justice, Busy P, Boys Noize, Teenage Bad Girl, Hot Chip, and Bobmo.
