DJ Hero is a music video game developed by FreeStyleGames and published by Activision as an expansion of its Guitar Hero series. It is set to be released on October 27, 2009 in North America. The game is based on turntablism and features more than 80 remixes of two different songs from a selection of over 100 different songs across numerous genres.

Many DJ and mix artists have contributed to the game both in the game's development, the creation of mixes, and in lending their images for playable avatars in the game; these including Eminem, Jay-Z, DJ Shadow, Z-Trip, DJ AM, Cut Chemist, J.Period, Grandmaster Flash, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Daft Punk.

I've seen DJ games in Asian arcades. about time!!!

I was interested at first, but I keep having doubts about buying anymore "music-genre" game after purchasing Rock Band 2.

If I still have the interest I would definitely buy the Renegade Edition.

At first I was like 'meh'. Now I knew how people who weren't rock fans felt about Guitar Hero. Also thought it was going to be a shameless whorish cash-in on the Guitar Hero franchise. But previews have been largely positive, and I think I'd have a handle on how to play it after seeing a couple of vids.

Wouldn't buy it on day one, but I'm more interested now than I was a month ago.

^Yeah. There are two bundles, apparently -- one with the game and the turntable (which is retailing for US$120), and a "Renegade Edition" that retails for US$200, and comes with the following (taken from Gamestop's site):

• Hardshell Turntable Carrying Case that converts to performance-ready DJ stand

DJ Hero 2 features GaGa, this is clearly a must have xD;

I really enjoy DJ Hero, and it would be fun to have improved multiplayer. The multiplayer stages in the first game are fun as well, but so uneven in terms of difficulty. I don't really want to have to buy a second turntable, but hm.. we'll see!
