I think Borderlands is one of the more original shooters atm. I'm not into that call of duty hype. For me, that is just another shooter. But I find Borderlands special, cause it has these RPG elements in it. You could call it a RPS (Role Playing Shooter). Also the visual style is nice. It's cartoony, but not kiddy, so I find that original as well. The story isn't..euh.. well it's nothing special. I did like the intro though. One of the best intros I have seen in a while. Also.. I find the game hilarious at some parts. For example Dr Ned instead of Dr Zed. Too bad there's only 1 action skill, but I guess it's not really possible to put in anymore. Controllers have a limited number of buttons and most of them r taken by some action already. I haven't finished the game yet, so I can't really give it an honest score yet. But for now.. I would give it a 8/10, because it's original, funny, good gameplay, it's fun online, takes quite some hours to finish and it has 2 fun DLCs: Dr Ned's zombie island and Mad Moxxie's Underdome Riot. So yeah I think it's a success, but if they're ever gonna make a sequel. I'd like to see a good story and I'd like the characters to be more involved. I mean, your character doesn't even speak to the NPCs... Like in a cutscene or something. It's like you could just put any character in that game and it wouldn't matter. But yeah... I think it's one of the better shooters that r available atm.
