Ahh, but I think it's better to disband when they rocked so much instead go away with just a small shadow of what they used to be. Melon Kinenbi was always a great group and despising how much this hurts (I'm a late fan who started to appreaciate them late 2008, though I always loved Murata) I'm sure this was the best thing to do. Every circle has to end someday and as the album says "Melon's not dead". It will live forever in the minds of those who enjoyed their music

This is pretty sudden yet not surprising news.

Sad that this has been the most consistent group with releases, stable in terms of membership. Each one a leader in the H!P Family and unique in their own right. This is one of THE best units H!P has ever produced in terms of music, lives, and their personalities are beyond epic. The writing has always seemed to be on the wall. With it being months and years between singles. Black guys in their PV and single cover. To the mass firing ERR Elder Club Graduation. The Melon's Not Dead is the ultimate irony!! WOW UFA! Never ceases to throw me off guard.

Man, Slack. I'd love to go and see MKB one last time.....always wanted to see em perform live. SUCH! ENERGY! SUCH PASSION!! Gotta think...

This still stings cuz MKB always been my favorite group in H!P besides Morning Musume. And as much as I wanna fuck Boss Saito so hard or cuddle with Shiba-chan :/

News on the important matter regarding Melon Kinenbi

As always, thank you for supporting Melon Kinenbi.

Today, during the stage of Melon Kinenbi's 10th ANNIVERSARY LIVE '3654 days since birth' which was held at SHIBUYA-AX', the members announced that Melon Kinenbi is going to disband.

Keeping their idol status for 10 years, the members gave their united statement, "We would like to end Melon Kinenbi's activity at this 10-year milestone”, and after numerous discussions and assistance from the staff, it was decided we would be announcing it publicly today.

This March's stage performance, “Melon Kinenbi Story” (12 performances at the Ikebukuro Theater Green, all tickets SOLD OUT) and the final tour in April~May are the group's final activities until official disbanding.

Furthermore, February 21st (Sunday) the Osaka performances which were planned (Nanba HATCH noon performance 15:00 START/night performance 19:00 START) will be held without any changes.

Please keep supporting them until the end.

On February 19th, 2010, we've reached Melon Kinenbi's 10-year anniversary of existence!!
The Melon road had both mountains and valleys to cross, but together with our wotamodachi [wotamodachi = wota (fan)+tomodachi (friend)], the staff, and our families who have supported us during good times and bad, we were able to build up a 10-year history. And all that without a member change!!

Before we reached the 10-year point, the four of us talked thoroughly about the future. The result was, “10 years is a good turning point, where we should get new challenges in our real life”, so we firmly decided to disband the group.

We think that there will people who will be shocked, thinking, "Oh no, so it's really happened now..." , but we promise we will keep running in Melon-style until the very end. Everyone! Please keep running with us with all your energy!!

I think 10 years is damned good for any group.  Even the Beatles didn't last more than 10 years, and they spent their first 3 without recording anything!  If they want to move on to new things, pursue other goals in life, why be sad about that?

It seems that their final concert is on May 3, at Nakano Sun Plaza.
That's only 70 days away!

Kind of short notice, so unless we get some actual concrete planning done, I don't know if it's realistic to consider going.  I certainly hope someone proves me wrong.

Melon Kinenbi first encounter on stage properly when I first as a member of Hello Project 1999, had come to visit the four stages of Melon Kinenbi. The next stage of the project was Halo on stage together as friends melon  So debut,  age, so that together as friends and old times live dissolution is headed in the event feeling kind of words to describe it.

From the moment we started out with tears battered. I looked at the live history and fierce bonds, And what's the feeling of four full, made me think to myself various things. Reminded him of the time and sing old songs, and also let me make my life watching and look ten years anniversary of melon, this is the first time I saw live.

Sincere respect for the members decided the fate of one's feelings Melon Kinenbi from beginning to end four! ！Tsu-chan Village (Murata Megumi) - but incredibly interesting talk from beginning to end, I liked her village that is cool Tsu sharp songs like someone else took the moment . I wee bush (Shibata Ayumi) - from beginning to end, and I look all right? Fuck no.  Here's a cute girl like I was cool like me to do good and they must be very good!  I really really cool evening ! Masae-chan (Ootani Masae) - I love your voice! ！ ! ！ ! Drought but looks can be loud, was pretty darn good run over the place.  Really looking forward to the next song in your own words to tell her that Masae such as a fan waiting.  Hitomin (Saito Hitomi) - Hitomi s bold and sexy performance, good very publicly did not like much! ！Hitomi I get off the stage, honestly shocked! But I decided I Hitomi! I support you in the future
