For a lot of us, Ayaka's the reason why we're here...her Surprise English Lessons serve as a great introduction to the world of Hello Project. I've known about the existence of Morning Musume for years, but it was her series of videos (as well as her time in Coconuts Musume) that set me off into wanting to know more about them, particularly this one:

Ayaka's Surprise English Lesson: Yoshi Hitomi (2002-04-01)

It's a shame that not much has been seen of her since those days, but it's good to know she's still alive and well (and still looking as good as ever). Happy birthday!

^I know for sure that Ayaka's English Lessons went a long way in advancing my MoMusu fandom. They, along with various Utaban episodes, really let me get to know the girls and their personalities. But Ayaka's lessons, in particular, ignited my Kaori fandom. As long as we're sharing, this is what really turned me on to Kaori (and Ayaka):

The sad things is, with the mere act of having this blog -- not even writing in it, mind you, just having it -- Ayaka already has a higher profile than she did her last several years in Hello! Project (was there anyone more criminally under-used than her?).

Anyway, hopefully this means we'll be hearing lots more from Ayaka in the future!

There was the members of Sheki-Dol and Ishii Rika. Most people don't even know who Sheki-Dol is (well, if they do, they're never mentioned.

) and Ishii got to sing on the Children's complilation album things that H!P did and was in Odoru 11, but that's pretty much it. o.o

But I'm really glad Ayaka got a blog! And I agree, I hope we get to see more of her!

In this posting Ayaka does a little self introduction. With the help of the computer translation by Excite (here) most of it is understandable.

Ayaka tells among other things that she attended college in Hawaii for year, but had to drop out because she couldn't combine study with her work. She says she was very happy to be able to enter Sophia University in Japan. From which she since then has graduated.

Smart girl, Ayaka.

My Ayaka story: Two words: ENGLISH LESSONS!! I couldn't give a rats ass about Coconuts Musume, which seemed like a parody of Morning Musume at the time....but Ayaka shined in her little segments as she went around "torturing" members of Morning Musume, ridiculing them for their english skills by withholding food. Like for fuck sake, you really think they could live without a plate of sweets? The fuck - they could just go to the corner store and buy a goddamned donut. Ayaka also has very long legs <3
Favourite thing(s) about Ayaka: Her legs, her humour, and the finger she wags when you fuck up in english makes me wanna drool.
Favourite H!P group with Ayaka: 11Water - BE ALRIGHT where they all dance around in short short red shorts <3
