Happy Birthday to Asami, wish her luck in achieving her goal of becoming a nutritionist.

Then who is the girl beside Yuria? *cue in X Files music
Her name is Aki and she is Mui's nail technician.

Airi Kijima, Rina, Saemi, Mui and Anna had an event last night where they did Honey Trap, Spring Holiday and Banana Mango High School. People that attended were so lucky.

last night I went on an ebisu muscats marathon watching, maybe two hours of clips and episodes
I still enjoy the show and the members so much.
it can't be helped to wonder where the group would be if they continued.  I'm assuming they could have reached more mainstream success and gotten invited to more Golden Time (primetime) shows.

I think if they push further Muscats more than the Margarines (IDK what happened to those ladies), I think they will really had a long run. It might be like Choito, where new members will rose, but it might or might not work.

There are positives and negatives after Muscats dissolvement.

Positive is after Muscats' dissolvement, new Sexy Idol groups rose. The likes of PINKey, Sexy-J, Kühn, and others created a new wave of Sexy Idol boom. Margarines have also a great one, esp. when they are inspired after Kishi give them the girls' dream to perform to the big stage, the dream Yuma Asami first wanted. Also, after its dissolvement, the members' carriers in singing started to skyrocket. Airi Kijima signed to MPG, Albums for Acky, Rina, Airi N., and Yuma, Sho's involvement to DJing...the opportunities were opened because of Muscats.

The negative is the influence gone. Some JAP fans might remember the group, but what about the Foreign ones? Good thing for us because we couldn't forget the girls. If Muscats was alive, like I said in some posts, they could accept new members. The likes of Moe Amatsuka can be a great addition, if the premise that the Muscats can be a front for AV Stars to flourish their name Is there. Besides, considering the fact the DMM is a distributing medium for the likes of S1, IdeaPocket, SOD..you can see a VARIETY of new members (also thinking of new members from the Gravure side)...heck, if I see the Muscats continue to run, I might see a blossoming S1-SOD rivalry arc inside the girls (a good friendly rivalry one though), or I see Sola or Yuma, or both of them, act both as hosts and mentors for the girls. I might imagine a Rio-Acky rivalry run if the two was in the group.

New members, a new leader....same old Muscats that we know...that I want to expect...esp. in their incoming "supposed to be" 10th Anniversary.

But, it can be a punch to the moon, like I always said. We just keep on dreaming...and keep on remembering....

I hope this doesn’t sound too negative.

When Ebimasu started some people said it wouldn’t last more than 6 months.

They lasted for 6 years! They did really, really well.

For a TV show that was shown in the ‘graveyard’ slot (mid-night to 2:00 am) they were really popular.

Their CDs sold well, as did tickets for their live shows.

But, they were being backed by DMM, Pony Canyon, and TV Tokyo. They had a lot of help. Success in the entertainment business isn’t just about talent. You have got to have the right people backing you. Nagasaku sings really well, but without the backing of a big company like Pony Canyon, she’s singing in shopping malls.

Ahhhh, the big question: could Ebimasu have continued?
I hate to say this, but I don’t think it could have. I think, Ebimasu had pretty much run its course. Sora had moved on to other things. Yuma was really sick. Kasumi Risa had left to work for SOD. KONAN had left for SDN48. If the show had continued more of the ‘main 20’ would have left. Of course, they would have been replaced. But, with a different set of girls, would it have been the Ebimasu that we know and love? They tried a major change with Choito…viewers stopped watching.

I’m sorry but an idol group with that many porn stars in it was never going to have ‘mainstream’ success. And the show was never going to be shown at 7:30 pm…never! Back in the thread, someone commented that one time Ebimasu were featured in a more primetime slot, the TV company got complaints. When Ebimasu went to Singapore they had to play down the porn star thing.

Ebimasu suffered from a ‘catch 22’ situation. One reason they were successful was because some of Japan’s most popular AV stars were in it. One reason Ebimasu’s success was always going to be limited was because some of Japan’s most popular AV stars were in it.

It seems to me that the gravure girls (eg. KONAN and Kawamura Rika) have a lot more varied careers that the AV girls. If you see an ex-Muscat in a TV commercial, prime time variety show, or TV drama, it is much more likely to be one of the gravure girls (than one on the AV girls).

I wish Ebimasu had continued, as much as anybody else. I would love to see one of the major TV companies give someone like Kasumi Kaho a TV show.

I think the spirit of Muscats really passed on to Margarines. Like I said posts ago, Margarines and Muscats SHOULD have a great rivalry if the Muscats were still running.

About Risa...I think they still welcomed her in the final concert, even she is in the other side. KONAN also had the blast when a small SDN-EbiMasu rivalry came. Let us face it, it really stays. The lingering spirit of the girls. Fans really want the girls to reunite again. Little by little, but in due time, they will...

Well, enough of that...let's have a Flashback, shall we?

Here are TVCs for Choito.

Some blog pictures of my girl. I'm probably gonna sound really stupid but I only realised just now that Acky has a bit of a wonky eye? It's cute.

Hello guys, coming back again from a long absence. Days are pretty tough and rough lately.

Been reading all your comments, though I'm not really active in contributing some.
But I just found this one from Rina's blog

http://www.dlmarket.jp/products/detail/294473

There's Ebisu Muscats' name printed on its cover, what could it be? Seems like an interesting piece. :D

Hey, remy...welcome back.

This might be a little off topic, but I think it's useful information.

I found a website (www.av-event.jp) which lists all the up coming personal appearances by AV stars (mostly in Tokyo).

Some very familiar names Yuria, Rina, Acky (basically the girls who are still doing the 'other stuff').

If you are making a trip to Japan, and want to see any of the AV Muscats in the flesh, this is the site to check out.

All the information is in Japanese...no surprise there.

I really hope Yuria does an event in November

seeing them in their old EbiMasu costumes hits me in the feels, men...

Speaking of Muscat references, I watched Acky's MV...and one of the scenes in that vid is Acky eating a bunch of....wait for it..

Wait up...THIS IS THE SOLAFES PHOTOBOOK...pardon me for my poor comprehension, but I saw "April 2013" on the description of the item. I think it says that "after that date (Muscats' Final Bow), they will reunite for the first time," which refers to SolaFes.

Sadly, even if it is in PDF format, you need to buy it. *cries like Yuma*
